Why do we call it the proximal head of the humerus and not the superior head? For a full list of my available playlists and videos, please check out this google doc: docs.google.co...
dude I asked my professor to clarify and he was really rude and basically said it's easy and if I need help there's youtube and the tutors on campus are free. also the same guy that said never be afraid to ask questions!
Thank you so much! Every documentation that I could find in my language just keeps on saying closest/furthest from/at the body 'at extremities' and I just couldn't figure out what they meant by that but this clarified everything :)
If I do make a video it won't be soon, but I'll give you some more examples... Remember...distal is further from where the limb attaches, proximal is closer so... The knee is proximal to the ankle The ankle is proximal to the toes The toes are distal to the ankle The ankle is distal to the knee The elbow is distal to the shoulder The elbow is proximal to the wrist The wrist is proximal to the fingers It can also be used for "tubes" (for example, the intestines) but that's generally not introduced in the beginning. If you want more "advanced" examples I can do that. Hope that helps!
Oh my goodness thank you!!! Why can't the teachers or the books be that clear and simple?!?!?!
Fellow indians
Proximal = pass ( in hindi) close to our body
Distal = durr ( far ) from our body
Hope it helps
Thank for you clearing that up in 1 minute, my professor could not sum this up in a 1 hour lecture lol
hahaha, glad to help!

You are really an anatomy HERO. Thank you!
You're welcome!!
Thank you for clearing that up! After watching a previous video and reading about it in a text I was so confused. But you helped in only 30 seconds :)

I'm glad!! These terms are hard to understand from textbook definitions!
O thank you
You are the only real superhero I've ever seen in my life!
Hahahaha ☺️
I get ittttt because I was so confused by the definitions online only using the trunk or center of the body for a point of reference!
Simple explained with great examples
You are absolutely amazing! Thank you.
الحمدلله قربت افهم 🙆♀️💛
thk 🌸🦋
Can you make a longer video with more examples? I think Proximal and Distal are the hardest positions to understand.
