OMG!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, SIR! I read a lot about the definition of these two but was still unable to understand, and glory to the heavens above I have come across your videos. I finally understood the difference because of your explanation. Thank you so much!!
thank you. i was studying the root system in angiosperm and it was confusing when it said proximal and distal.....all doubts cleared thankss once again
I really, really like your videos. Is there a way that you could do a video on how to best study A&P. Most people just create a ton of flash cards, but this (in my experience) makes the information inflexible and too specific (losing the Forrest from the trees). It seems to involve pure recall instead of greater understanding. But, this begs the question of how to learn for better understanding in A&P. Along with this, another big issue in A&P is transferring 2D images in textbooks to actual structures.
from 0:46 to 0:52...if the elbow is proximal to the wrist....shouldn't the same be true b/w the wrist and proximal....why do you say they are distal...? (Confused mechanical engineering student here...)
1:31 I don't understand this one..why did u named it proximal and distal is it because it was closer to the trunk thats why it was proximal and u named it distal because it was far away from the trunk ?? Please answer sir 😢 and what is the origin of the femur
Yes you are correct. The terms proximal and distal are primarily used when describing something in relation to something else. Proximal means near and distal means far.
You. Are. Awesome.
Thank you for making these videos. I can feel my brain figuratively uncramping as I watch them.

can proximal and superior, distal and inferior be used interchangeably, if not then what's the differenece?
this was very slayful
What if you think the fingertips are the center of the body?
Thats why we have an anatomical position so we always use the same references. See this video: th-cam.com/video/M67DIbgUUvI/w-d-xo.html
