This is my 2016 Tesla Model X Cabin Air filter change procedure. Mine was super dirty! This probably should be replaced yearly.

Thank you for your excellent videos! One issue I ran in to that might not be a problem: the air filter that I bought by following the link given is the correct shape, so it only goes into the hole one way. However, once I had it in that correct way, the air flow arrows point upwards instead of down like yours do in the video. Hopefully that won't be a problem.
I'm so glad I found your video. It's really well done and easy to follow. Tesla definitely made this needlessly complicated, all the way down to requiring a torx screwdriver and ridiculous placement of some of the bottom screws.
I'm glad this helped!
Good job. You made it look easy compared to another video I watched. You video quality is pretty good too.
Yeah I might have watched that same video, it’s not bad, just don’t be afraid to pull hard on the panels
Thank you so much for posting this. The instructions the filter gave me were completely off because it was for the newer models who apparently use magnets instead of those muscle clips we got.
Yeah it's not an easy thing to get to
You said the air blows down, but when you put the filter in the arrows are pointing up
The arrows are Mis-printed on the filter
Agree since then most of the filters have corrected it. You can not put this filter wrong because of the notch. There is only one way it will fit
I think the airflow mark on your filter is the other way around. Otherwise helpful video
It was mid-printed in the filter
@@Myksgarage Yes, but in wrong direction. Air Flow is oposite.
Logically, the dirt on the old filter was on the top, not the bottom. So the air flows from the top to the bottom. But the mark on your filter shows the opposite direction of flow.
@@Myksgarage Again and slowly. In the video there is a filter that has the airflow direction mark reversed. The air is flowing from top to bottom (⬇⬇). In the video, the filter has a flow mark from bottom to top (⬆⬆).
So either you put the filter the other way around (unlikely, you wouldn't fit tho there because of the shape), or the filter manufacturer made a mistake in the description.
Except air flow direction is wrong on the filter, I got the same one today and it pointing down now
Interesting
My model X is 2018 it has HEPA filter. Does that mean it has a cabin filter also or I should only change HEPA? Thanks for video.
It has both, having the HEPA keeps the cabin filter cleaner, but maybe check it every few years
It has both.
I have that same model and changed both
awesome thank you 🙏
👍
Thanks. it was helpful.
👍
put it in upside down ey?
The directional arrow was misprinted on the filter
@@Myksgarage ha! Those bozos! :)
Wow, can’t believe Tesla made it this complicated.
Yeah, no wonder it was never changed!
They want you to bring it in for servicing and charge money
Good video to show the process. However, the air follow arrow on the new Premium Guard PG cabin points to the wrong diretion. The product itself has problem. The youtuber is supposed to find this problem. 👎
The product is marked incorrectly
Thanks for the tips.
