The comment regarding non English signage is something else. It’s Mexico and Spanish is the national language, signage in any other language is a plus.
Dude it’s Oaxaca you’re LUCKY there’s stuff in Spanish. Most of the people speak native languages (pre colonization) 🍻 Nahuatl maya Nd many other dialects. The colony Mexico confuses the mind since tribes had borders yet these were not impassable. That implied access is why Mayans migrated south and made a northern venture that brought them through chihuahua to Louisiana to the Carolinas. They brought beans corn and other crops along the way and build structure balanced with nature for water access and food storage.
Not Mayan neither Nahuatl Central Valley of Oaxaca is mainly Zapotecs and we speak Zapotec, Zapotecs are the most underrated ancient Civilization by Historians
