...Aaaaand if you look here- Sir, please stay with the group. If you look here, this is the *Old Man Logan Back Issues* of ComicPOP, then TV Little House. Here is the birthplace of such inside-jokes as "Ultron 8 is a Better Father Than You'll Ever Be" and "What's he gonna do with that Hulk baby?" Also, this is the first appearance of the Sal-Ethan-Tiffany configuration. No flash photography, please. _Moving on..._
Top 3 most classic episodes of Back Issues. Loved this episode so much that I went out and bought the Ultron 8 shirt, then doomed myself to an existence of explaining the reference to everyone I know. Bought trade count since I started watching Back Issues: 7
TVLittleHouse Seriously though,"Kingpin: Power of Cardiac Arrest" and "Ultron 8 was a better husband than Hawkeye ever was" shirts would sell like gang-busters.
Actually I think it's implied that Emma Frost married Dr. Doom, the ruler of that territory; they allude to the fact that Emma "sold them down the river," and while I know the Inhumans and the X-Men haven't always been on good terms, Logan and Hawkeye seemed especially pissed, more than marrying Black Bolt might have warranted.
I love looking back at.. well.. Back Issues.. Too many 'backs' ;) I'm here every Wednesday, 6 years now! Production has gone up, content never went down - solid channel, always keeping it real and grounded! What a journey to have been a part of! Sal, Ben, Ethan, Tiff - you've been my go-to weekly nerdism for almost a decade now! Absolutely a lovely channel, and a TH-cam staple in my mind! You're The Best At What You Do! WGPCGR!
The Old Man Logan storyline "borrowed" extremely heavily from the Clint Eastwood film, Unforgiven. Even the very beginning opens with "separatin' them hogs" from illness. Then his old acquaintance turns up, with an idea that might mean the end of his violence celibacy. Eastwood's character repeats the same phrase, "I ain't like that no more", very similar to Logan's mantras of the same meaning. The comics themselves look great, and the story behind them is sound, but, it's been done before. The only thing that really surprised me about the comic, is how much they climbed in value over the years! Good choice!
Painocus Unforgiven was in production around 1990,when he was wrapping up White Hunter, Black Heart in 1989/90 and David Peoples' (Blade Runner!) script had been laying around for a few years before that. It was one of those Great Unfilmed Screenplays( Jacob's Ladder was also one of them; awesome film!) you hear about if you're interested in film. I'm afraid I don't know when this run of comics you're talking about were published, so please excuse my ignorance.
Just wanted to tell you guys that after seeing you with this episode for the first time in September, I finally have purchased this book! And it is FANTASTIC
I love your commentaries, they are so entertaining! I work at night and am bored a lot and I can watch a bunch of these over and over and never get bored because you guys are so animated and funny, not to mention knowledgeable! And you should totally do some Green Lantern stuff, or Witchblade! I would love to hear your take on either. Especially talking about Michael Turner's art.
I saw this after reading the comic and wanted to say great video! On the topic of the comic book: As a long-term Wolverine fan it is probably my favourite Wolverine story of all time. It just hits all the right notes.
Sal, thank you for saying the funniest thing ever. "What are you gonna do Wolverine? Your a fool." Every time I watch this video, I fast forward to that part and it cracks me up every time.
I can't wait to hear this :) Because, I Love This, the new series, old man Hawkeye, old man Quill, dead man Logan. I'd probably be the only one, to love hearing you talk about them.
Just reread old man Logan due to my inability to sleep tonight. Only took me an hour and a half, idk if I could call that a good time or not but a great story nonetheless
Old man Logan is my favorite story arc of all of Wolverine... I remember getting every issue as it came out... except I never got the LAST ISSUE.... always bothered me... also, there's going to be a continuation of Old Man Logan after or during the new Secret Wars series.
The problem with Hawkeye is that nobody knows how to write him. He's rarely seen or heard in the MCU. My favorite iteration of Hawkeye has to be from Avengers emh. In that he was sarcastic and witty, but also kicked ass. In a couple of episodes he got the Avengers out of sticky situations (gamma world, masters of evil, etc.). I especially loved his playful rivalry with the Hulk. I wish he was written more like this in the movies (and have his comic costume on). Anyway love the show.
+Gio Gomez He was good in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Cap. America Civil War. And he's written good in the comics. Read Hawkeye Blindspot and the fourth Hawkeye run written by Matt Friction. And All-New Hawkeye by Jeff Lemire. And the costume would look ridiculous in the movies xD they even dropped it in the comics.
You know with Logan coming out in March I sat down and watched this video to just get a good wolverine story. You guys have a wolverine story in mind to do on back issues the week Logan comes out? If not, I would suggest the Death of Wolverine storyline, since this will be Hugh Jackman's last outing as wolverine it seems kind fitting. But it's your show and I'll like whatever you guys put out anyway.
Speaking of She-Hulk you should the gang some 4th wall breaking She-Hulk stories. She-Hulk Vol. 4: Laws of Attraction is a good one were she use Marvel comics to win a court case.
wolverine &a grown up Hulk baby did apear in Millar's run of fantastic four,Millar loosley connected all the books he was writting at that time; old man logan, FF, & 1985(not a bad mini series, although the original idea was to use a mix of photography & illustration which would havbeen interesting)
I've dealt with it the last few videos, but i can't any longer. Its pronounced the same as mark miller, its just the Scottish way of spelling it. You said it about 5 times in the first 2 minutes. I almost cried.
I have a question, how come professor x didn't notice mysterio coming with him telepathy? Also why didn't he use his powers to telepathically communicate with wolverine that mysterio was tricking him before he killed his team mates. And please don't try tell me that mysterio is more powerful then xavier and tricked him too, because there's no way that's possible, so how?
Old Man Eastwood for the big bucket of win. Where is my damn old man logan movie. Also, try and imagine eastwood actually cast as logan and try not to squee.
Im not gonna lie, i got distracted by the x men comic cover of jubilee with a baby on her back lol. But this is a fantastic episode regardless of my small attention span.
maybe a stupid thing to ask but how do i tell if i have a 1A comic or A 1B comic ? As to the comic Wolverine Battles the Hulk (1989) #1A of 1B . thank you
Sal you're a Pimp. Keep it going, I hope you and your friends gain so much influence and value on the interweb that losers like that guy from Emergency Awesome no longer exist. Damn that guy has annoying face and voice. WeeklyPull4life (no hashtag needed). Take care man.
Hawkeye in this reminds me of Green Arrow from TDKR, which is the first time I've ever agreed with the "Hawkguy is a copy of Green Arrow so Green Lantern is better than Spider-Man 2 lololol Marvel Sux" crowd on something.
So the super serum made red skull unable to age but for some reason wolverine that no one does even knows how old he fucking is, became an old man for the first time of his god dam life. This is the reason why i originaly hated this series and not wanting to read it. Healing factor, What The Fucking fuck ?
Witch i never understood because he is already verry verry verry old but doesn't look old. Same thing for Hulk, because general Ross A.K.A red Hulk, is old but not as red Hulk so Hulk shouldn't age either. Bruce can age but not as Hulk, but for some reason both Hulk and Logan age a lit of time on TV and comics.
guys.. franklin richards has been 10 for 50 years where-as the xmen aged and the new xmen arrived and the "all new xmen" brought the teenage xmen into the future.. its just comics lol.. honestly i think they just age wolverine to show "hey some time has passed"
...Aaaaand if you look here- Sir, please stay with the group. If you look here, this is the *Old Man Logan Back Issues* of ComicPOP, then TV Little House. "Sir please stay with the group" took me out
*touch*
"And she's hot! That's a ranged attack in itself!" one of the best lines in back issues ever
so two brilliant jokes came of this episode "What's he gonna do with that hulk baby" and of course "Ultron 8 is a better father than youll ever be"
Both came from Ethan too.
15:30 to 16:20 and 30:00 to 31:00 for anyone needing to find the references in 2019 👍🍻
Top 3 most classic episodes of Back Issues. Loved this episode so much that I went out and bought the Ultron 8 shirt, then doomed myself to an existence of explaining the reference to everyone I know.
Bought trade count since I started watching Back Issues: 7
I love the line "What's he gonna do with that Hulk baby?" I want that on a shirt.
Merchandising! That's the ticket! ;)
Old Man Logan is one of my favourite Marvel stories. It's just so much fun.
I love looking back at.. well.. Back Issues.. Too many 'backs' ;)

You're The Best At What You Do!
WGPCGR!
"Deliciously mysterious" Damn it Sal
Next stop on my rewatch. I had forgotten this is where the Ultron 8 saying came from! Everyone should do a rewatch of Back Issues. This is great.
WELL NOW I GET THE ULTRON JOKE! NOW I JUST NEED THE T-SHIRT
Shrimpatty Perhaps one day...
TV Little House Comics I remember you guys mentioning it once, is it actually a thing?
Wow. Finally found where the Ultron 8 t-shirt comes from.
"Why would she wanna marry Ultron 8" gets me every time 😂😂😂
The Old Man Logan storyline "borrowed" extremely heavily from the Clint Eastwood film, Unforgiven. Even the very beginning opens with "separatin' them hogs" from illness. Just wanted to tell you guys that after seeing you with this episode for the first time in September, I finally have purchased this book! And it is FANTASTIC
Old man Logan was a fun ride - u did it justice
I love your commentaries, they are so entertaining! I work at night and am bored a lot and I can watch a bunch of these over and over and never get bored because you guys are so animated and funny, not to mention knowledgeable! And you should totally do some Green Lantern stuff, or Witchblade! I would love to hear your take on either. Especially talking about Michael Turner's art.
I saw this after reading the comic and wanted to say great video! On the topic of the comic book: As a long-term Wolverine fan it is probably my favourite Wolverine story of all time. It just hits all the right notes.
New comic book store opened up in my town and I walked in there and saw Old Man Logan and bought it based on this episode.
Nice! Thanks so much man! Watch out for that Hulk baby!
Sal, thank you for saying the funniest thing ever. "What are you gonna do Wolverine? Your a fool." Every time I watch this video, I fast forward to that part and it cracks me up every time.
just two days ago found this channel and I absolutely love it very good stuff!
I smell another great episode and I'm in a Back Issues marathon
These videos are long as hell! They're entertaining as hell though
I can't wait to hear this :)
Because, I Love This, the new series, old man Hawkeye, old man Quill, dead man Logan. I'd probably be the only one, to love hearing you talk about them.
The scene with Logan killing red skulls men and then red skull is one of my favorite scenes in comics ever
this is such an awesome comic
Tifanny should cosplay as Phoenix, more :D
I had heard that people loved this book, so I was planning on reading it. Thank you for saving me from this crazy trainwreck.
it is actually a good read one of my favourite comics i have read for while. Listening to these idiots they sound like they aint got a clue.
We give it a fair shake. And I think at the end we do wind up recommending it, if you're a fan of insane popcorn comics.
17:03 That awkard moment when you find out Daredevil got eaten by Velociraptors...
Well it's not daredevil. It's a friend of hawkeye's daughter who dressed up as daredevil with another friend as punisher.
Lol o I didn't hear that part...um wow... Lol comic books!
+Bad Candy Gaming no that was matt and frank getting turned in to dino food
@@turtle1464 no if you read jeff Lemire you will see that they got killed in Manhattan with Spider-Man and moon knight
14:10, Tiffany's face change is so good.
31:36 What are you going to do wolverine? You're a fool!
Just reread old man Logan due to my inability to sleep tonight. Only took me an hour and a half, idk if I could call that a good time or not but a great story nonetheless

Gio Gomez I agree with everything you said
+Gio Gomez He was good in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Cap. America Civil War. And he's written good in the comics. Read Hawkeye Blindspot and the fourth Hawkeye run written by Matt Friction. And All-New Hawkeye by Jeff Lemire. And the costume would look ridiculous in the movies xD they even dropped it in the comics.
This is basically the Dark Knight Returns of Wolverine.
just rewatching after this week old man logan #1 ultron 8 is still a better father we will ever be #saveultron8 T.T
when they talk about the sponsors at the beginning i imagine sal just has a gun under he table lol
You know with Logan coming out in March I sat down and watched this video to just get a good wolverine story. You guys have a wolverine story in mind to do on back issues the week Logan comes out? I just read this on Marvel Unlimited and I'm excited to see this throw back Back Issues
Hall of fame episode for me
awesome story! will pick this up!
Speaking of She-Hulk you should the gang some 4th wall breaking She-Hulk stories. She-Hulk Vol. 4: Laws of Attraction is a good one were she use Marvel comics to win a court case.
really? that sounds fucking awesome
Slott's She-Hulk run was totally worth talking about. Sounds good to me!
I never stopped to think about how much of a mess this story sounds like when condensed down to a simple discussion
back issue of Preacher is needed.
YES
It's been one year (posting this on the west coast, so it counts, dammit!) since this glorious episode came out. Love the shirt!
I really liked the episode. The hulk baby edits made me laugh. I will probably pass on this book, but you make it sound fun sal.
Thanks, man! Really appreciate it.
That's got to be my favorite wolverine comic book!!!! I love it
Great work, could you please show more PAGES of the comic as you describe the story, thanks.
Old Man Logan was the first comic I ever read
fuzzzzyduck Nice! Hope it pulled you in! What was the next one?
TV Little House Comics The Dark Knight Returns
fuzzzzyduck you really seem to like old hero coming out of retirement stories.
fuzzzzyduck my frist comic was the dark knight returns
wolverine &a grown up Hulk baby did apear in Millar's run of fantastic four,Millar loosley connected all the books he was writting at that time; old man logan, FF, & 1985(not a bad mini series, although the original idea was to use a mix of photography & illustration which would havbeen interesting)
i recommended Old Man Logan to a friend... his reaction was priceless after reading. hahaha
Hey Bubs... Snikt.
lol
Logan and cub! I'll do the color if you write it and draw it lol
Love it.
Doom took Chicago. Do I need any more evidence that Chicago is awesome? Even Doom can't resist it XD
Keep up the good work. As a Wolverine fan this is one of my favorite modern books. You guys were at Garden State?
Ultron 8: Father of the year lol
i just found out this channel a week ago how long have you guys been doing this
Justin McKinney Just about a year now!
No, I've never heard of her.
I've dealt with it the last few videos, but i can't any longer. Its pronounced the same as mark miller, its just the Scottish way of spelling it. You said it about 5 times in the first 2 minutes. I almost cried.
Thanks for the tip, John! I'll make a note to correct that for the future!
I gotta pick this one up
I read it when it first came out in Highschool and wasn't familiar with Ultron ad didn't get the joke at first.
Suprised Hulk didn’t take over Alabama
I have a question, how come professor x didn't notice mysterio coming with him telepathy? Also why didn't he use his powers to telepathically communicate with wolverine that mysterio was tricking him before he killed his team mates. And please don't try tell me that mysterio is more powerful then xavier and tricked him too, because there's no way that's possible, so how?
Because plot convienience.
Rey's cute Boyfriend was xavier absent or something, i'd believe that
That is a good question I mean Xavier should tell wolverine in his mind it’s mysterio that’s doing the illusions
So, I just got around to watching this one... the origin of the Ultron 8 joke!
Red Dead Wolveramption
Old Man Eastwood for the big bucket of win. Where is my damn old man logan movie. Also, try and imagine eastwood actually cast as logan and try not to squee.
Ha it would be awesome
Back here after watching Logan Trailer, i know it won't be this but hoping the trailer is a good indicator of good things
Really would love to see this animated movie.
... just not animated by Marvel animation.
Im not gonna lie, i got distracted by the x men comic cover of jubilee with a baby on her back lol. But this is a fantastic episode regardless of my small attention span.
Why do they keep saying Mill-Ar, it's just Millar
I would love to see this revisited
Love the mystiro pun
I'm pretty sure because Mark Millar was writing and Steve Mcniven was drawing that Marvel would've let Millar do anything.
another great story, thx folks.
Should we thank Deadpool for Hugh Jackman's Logan, or this comic?
Mark millar is the Quentin tarentino of comics. Violence everywhere.
Loved it
So 7 year later, you guys should think about doing Old Man Hawkeye a really good revenge western story
maybe a stupid thing to ask but how do i tell if i have a 1A comic or A 1B comic ?
As to the comic Wolverine Battles the Hulk (1989) #1A of 1B . thank you
Where can I get that amazing “Medic” shirt?!!!!
Sal you're a Pimp. Keep it going, I hope you and your friends gain so much influence and value on the interweb that losers like that guy from Emergency Awesome no longer exist. Damn that guy has annoying face and voice. WeeklyPull4life (no hashtag needed). Take care man.

HOT TAKE: I like this comic and I LOVE what Brian Michael Bendis did for the character later on.
5:50 ethan your nerdiness is showing
So the super serum made red skull unable to age but for some reason wolverine that no one does even knows how old he fucking is, became an old man for the first time of his god dam life. This is the reason why i originaly hated this series and not wanting to read it. Healing factor, What The Fucking fuck ?
logan always shows up older in the future ie days of future's past
Witch i never understood because he is already verry verry verry old but doesn't look old. Same thing for Hulk, because general Ross A.K.A red Hulk, is old but not as red Hulk so Hulk shouldn't age either. Is the Ultron t-shirt still around?
I don't understand how Wolverine can move his wrists with his claws retracted.
they retract all the way to his forearm.
Is this the video where the ultron quote originated, the one on the shirts?
+Everything and nothing At all Yes it is!
Wolverine! Make America Gruesome Again!!
This shit is cool!
Its awesomely wierd! Lol!
The Hulk baby is kinda cute.
I wonder is that hulk baby going to be the new hulk for the new marvel universe after secret wars???
Oh no... I have family in Minneapolis!
Actually, this idea was done before but the heroes won.
and also I don't think they actually hasitated cause they know the danger he represents if he ever goes rogue
lone wolf and cub 2.0
Can you guys do marvel zombies or justice by Alex Ross
Ultron 8 is not married to her he just kind of hangs around with the family and helps like a random family member that sticks around like and uncle
I think they continued the universe in a FF book
