I’ve recently gone back to bullet journaling, because I’m tired of subscription plans trying to force me to rent access to my own information and calendars. So I’ve started bullet journaling again, and I am enjoying it a lot more!
I've used a 3"x5" top bound spiral notepad in a leather notebook/memo book cover that I purchased in the 1980's when I was a police officer. I've carried this type of notebook ever since. I take it everywhere I go. It fits in my back pocket. It costs extra, but I started using Rite-in-the-Rain (#135) products and have been very pleased. Pencil is my first choice. I'm 67 and enjoying your videos.
A 2 notebook bullet journal type system has been a game changer. My pocket setup is my daily log and task list and my main journal is my monthly master list, goal tracker and collections of ideas/books to read/ etc.
@@4nyamusic use a journal for taken thoughts from outside like TH-cam and articles and also self generated thoughts and use another journal for experiences and goals and use a third journal(preferably pocket one) for to do lists, mood check, notes or any thing at the go. Then migrate it to its corresponding journa
I am also using pocket journal since the beginning of this year and I got inspired by my dad who often use it to write his expenditure and important stuff throughout the day.
Right there with you. I’ve been turning away from my phone more this past year. There def is a satisfaction and ease with the analog method. It’s keep my face out of the screen more.
this seems way more practical and realistic... i dont know why every bullet journal video has to be "who can write down pointless things more than me". I need something to just capture these to dos, reminders, thoughs, etc and keep it moving.
The closest thing I've had was a vocabulary notebook where I just wrote down new words every day and dated it like you did. But I got distracted and stopped. I'm curious enough to try this.
Thank God. I thought I was the only one that got put off by the complexity of the digital note apps; I tried forcing myself to do it but it just doesn't work. Thank you for the note taking system.
I appreciate your content because I’ve been looking for the perfect notebook and pen combo for quite some time; and like you I’ve been unhappy with side bound notebooks
Hey Reysu, I see that you have great videomaking skills! Just a tip to consider is making sure to give to viewer something to look forward to in the video. In this video for example you could say that you will tell the viewer about a certain time when this came in extremly useful or something similar.
@@reysu Reysu ur super cool for humbly and kindly taking in feedback / tips the way you did here. That curious humility is a rare and amazing trait that is rare to find on the internet these days, thank you for sharing it with us all!

Friend, you concern me with your work schedule. Can you try to reduce some? Just so you don't burn out, speaking from experience. I don't want people to burnout, I think there's more to life than work. Of course your philosophy might be different. I think that much work isn't necessary, just a certain amount of work is enough for people to live a happy life. May you find ways to be more peaceful I guess, sending you much love.
You are wrong about one thing: In retrospect, the ordinary day to day stuff is one of the most interesting things you can record. It's a window into your life and not a beautified version of it. Greetings from Austria :)
I use a similar system but I use an top bound A6 discbound notebook. The pages are repositionable, disposable and refillable. I can punch different types of pages, even printables, pockets and tabs. I use small discs so it takes the same space as a traditional top bound notebook.
I found it hard to worl with traditional notebooks because I would have disposable notes mixed in with important ones I wanted to archive, and in the end would run out of space and have to choose between transferring the information from my old notebook or just giving up with it.
@@tuomi1154 Same here, I always use some kind of notebook, but I struggle to organize them, when inevitably ends up being a mix of doodles and disposable todos, with important info I need to keep and remember or reference later. Can I ask you, which discbound notebook you use?
@@Bedeoz I just bought some cheap rings from Amazon and a craftelier punch. I made the covers, dividers and pockets myself. Then I punched some grid paper for it. Since I live in Europe and A4 paper is commonly used on printers it is easy to print A6 sized planner inserts etc.
I use Notion every day as a second brain, but I am looking into spending less time looking at a screen. Love the idea of using a little jotter for all the ideas that come into my head - I could then transfer the best ones onto Notion to keep it clean and organised. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video, I'm going to give this method a go and see how it works for me. With the spiral bound Field Notes notebook, do you find that it leaves little bits of paper in the coil when you tear off a page?

im confused about this, where i should write my thoughts and ideas, in journal or pocket journal, idk

Love it. Wish I could get these in Japan. That pen slipping right in the top spirals is too satisfying.
Two sides to every page which is super useful 😂 your sense of humour though 🎉

Hey there! Great video. What pen were you using in the very beginning of the video? I've noticed you using it in a bunch of different videos as well.

Why not use a Rocketbook mini and pilot pens?
Does anyone know which is the Japanese tiny leather notebook mentioned ?

not really
How do you set reminders of important events in the analogic way ? With the pocket journal or with a regular journal?
then I use my digital calendar lol
analogy isn't great for things that change around and things that might depend on other people (i.e. project management and events)
