No, it means more and more responsibility/stress/ChangeInLifeStyle with no rise in wages

Promotion without a raise is pay reduction not a demotion

“We’ll talk about a raise in 6 months” is classic corporate bullshit

    • @CaloyEdits

That's what's currently happening to me. They have to base the raise depending on my performance in 6months. I will Pass😂😂😂😂😂

This was good to hear, I was just recently offered a promotion and while I was getting a raise for the promotion, it was very miniscule. Enough to maybe pay me an extra $100 per month to add the responsibility of having to start managing four stores and essentially be on call. To be blunt, it was less than a dollar raise. I felt wrong turning down a leadership opportunity but this makes me feel way better

I would take it and immediately look for a new job.

A promotion with no pay raise just means they found a way to increase your workload without compensation.

Lol. Don’t take the promotion if they aren’t going to pay you more

I had this magnificent opportunity for a promotion a few months back. It would have been a >50% salary increase. I met all of the qualifications, had the backing of all of the other managers, and even the person who held the position prior (my direct supervisor) endorsed me. Even the two professionals who were sent from corporate to temporarily tend to responsibilities of the role--until it was filled--endorsed me. I had a track record of excellent work ethic and drive, and always went the extra mile. Not only did I get passed over for in favor of an external candidate without any explanation, when I went to respectfully ask for a base pay raise after hitting my anniversary, I got denied that as well! My quarterly bonuses started getting slashed by 67%. On face value, my work contribution never changed, but ever since I've been getting treated like dirt.

Completed my 1 year in Jan.
No mention or a raise even though i perform 3 jobs in 1, bsa, mgr, developer.
The money they hold earns interest, we all lose.
Switch jobs, you will never get paid your worth more once you accept.

This makes me mad. If I were her, I'd say nevermind, I'm not willing to have an extra work load with no immediate bump in pay. But I'll stay in my current position.

You find a new place to work for. You were not promoted. You were suckered into taking a new position at a substantial cost savings to the business.
I am old enough to see through corporate bs that is so common. She will constantly get the runaround about a raise. It will not be in the budget, or you haven't met these metrics. Or they will write you up about something trivial and say that a write up disqualifies you from a raise for at least a year.

Agreed, this is unjust enrichment for one party only. They are disregarding good faith and moral obligation. Companies suck.

@@rosamoreno4794 I have seen this happen multiple times before. It even happened to me once.
I was one of the top performers in my office. I got promoted to a supervisor role and promised to get a raise after a 6 month performance test. After six months I was told I am doing a great job and I was being given a .50 per hour increase in pay. I asked them if this was a joke to which they replied this is all the budget will allow for.
I started looking for another job and had an offer I took after a week. They were shocked as hell wanting to know why I was leaving??? I told them that if the company is doing so badly that they can only afford to pay me 4.00 an hour more per day. Then I need to leave before the doors close... I knew they were full of chit, but I even suggested they get out before getting let go 🤣🤣

This just happened to me. It's better hours with no weekend work. I agreed because of the hours. I've only been here for about 9 months and 2 of those months I was out for surgery. They changed me from nightshift to dayshift when I returned. It was better. But being there during the day had my body awful. So I searched for a new role with fewer hours internal instead of looking for another job somewhere else. I received an offer weeks later. No raise..since I was already making more than my coworkers when I was hired. I'll be there for a year in 3 months so that's where my raise will be given. Therefore, from the looks of things in my case... everything makes sense.

If you accept a " dry promotion " the company will mark you down as A DESPERATE SUCKER. The company will never ever give you a raise, they will pile more work on you and dangle carrots in front of you forever. Why give someone a raise that will work harder for nothing more anyways? Take the bigger job title and find another job. This is not a good idea for a company, NOBODY will work hard? Why? You just get singled out for a dry promotion as compared to a mediocre but solid worker.
