  • During our travels in Pakistan, we accidentally found ourselves entering a restricted area, forcing us to travel with police escorts. So, follow along to see what it's like to travel with the police on your back, while exploring places like Derawar Fort and Bahawalpur.
Thank you, your support means the world 💛
    🌞 About Me:
I'm Flora, a female adventurer passionate about hiking, nature, and exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations. My goal is to show what it's truly like to travel in Pakistan - specifically as a female foreigner - and show that it isn’t like what Western media portrays it to be.

    *🛣️ Journey Highlights:*
*Derawar Fort: nestled in the Cholistan desert, we wander through this ancient fort, discovering all its weathered corridors and hidden corners. Despite the police escort and their constant presence, the fort was absolutely beautiful.
*Bahawalpur: Follow us through Bahawalpur's historic sites, from the central library to the Noor Mahal. It offers a glimpse into the challenges of exploring under the watchful gaze of security forces.
*Impact on Tourism: As our journey concludes, I reflect on the impact of such security measures on tourism in Pakistan. While safety is crucial, I question the necessity of these restrictions and hope for a future where the true beauty of this country can be explored without limitations.
    ⏰ *Details:*
Time of Visit: November 21-24th, 2023
    📷 *Gear:*
All shot on iPhone 14 Pro.
    📍 *Timestamps:*
    0:00 - Accidentally entering a restricted area

    3:24 - Police-escorted drive Derawar Fort
    5:04 - Exploring Derawar Fort
    7:09 - Dinner problems
    9:40 - Exploring Bahawalpur

The shear fear that if something happens to a foreigner, Pakistan will be held accountable. It's breaks my heart honestly. We must have done something that made them this fearful, it's sad. People in Pakistan seem like the kindest people❤

It's mainly due to the fact that western people are very quick to generalize and show hate towards all.
If a western tourist does something stupid and lands in trouble then no one will blame the tourist but the whole country.
Just last week in India, a spanish biker was camping out in nowhere and was raped. These are the areas where the locals will avoid travel at night and let alone camping there.

It’s only giving Pakistan a bad rep. These people don’t know about the corruptions of police in Pakistan. Police are the biggest terrorists in Pakistan. It’s hard to find anyone more corrupt than the police in Pakistan. Flora be warned about the dacoits escorting you. It’s the most corrupt police force in Pakistan the Punjabi police.

You shouldn't feel guilty or annoyed at this ’cuz it's the protocol in smaller cities of the country! Pakistanis love and respect their guests but security conditions are not up to the point in rural areas specially! So, I hope this doesn't give the negative vibes about the country. You can roam freely in bigger cities like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Northern Area as well.

I have lived in Pakistan with my (Pakistani) husband and traveled throughout the country. I found that rural areas are a lot more safer than cities but the military establishment wants to portray the country as dangerous place to get dollars in the name of war against terrorism. They do not care about the country & its reputation as long as west pays them dollars that end up in their personal bank accounts in international banks. After the retirement, military officers, top bureaucrats and judges leave the country to start their life in western-heavens with the money they robbed from the people and the dollars they got as bribe from the west. Hence a win-win situation for west and the corrupt establishment at the cost of Pakistan.

    • @ghaniaashir3931
      @ghaniaashir3931 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@Denis-kg3zz It's very safe to visit rural areas of Punjab but if administration of that village or city hear about you being there, they'd probably try to escort you and give you security whether you want it or not. It's kind of protocol now. If you have someone (a friend) from Pakistan with you, then there shouldn't be any problem.

We totally recognise your experience and must admit we were happy once the police escorts stopped accompanying us too. On the other hand, the Police, like all other people in Pakistan were so friendly and will do everything in their power to make us feel safe! Even though we never at one point felt threatened in any way (but maybe we where just naive, we will never know). It is hard to comprehend for us Westeners and to describe it to our own people how special this country is and its people are. Keep those movies coming, you inspire us to share more too! Groetjes!

At 6:52 it looks exactly like Orchha, India. Of course at the time that it was constructed it was part of "India" (Hindustan, Bharat or whatever the right word might be). But you mentioned a mosque whereas Orchha was Hindu and it's a very long ways away. I wonder if those buildings were originally Hindu and then converted into mosques by Mughal invaders? Fascinating history. The police escort situation sounds frustrating as hell.

Right, actually a lot of Hindu temples or architecture illegally converted to mosques there. Unfortunately, Its still happening there. It's not just the problem there but in India and Bangladesh too. Famous Examples are Kashi Vishwanath temple in varanasi and Krishna janmbhoomi in mathura.

You didn't need security at all in Bahawalpur. You can move around freely in Bahawalpur without security. I am from Bahawalpur.

The credit of this situation goes to NATO and obviously US because after they invaded Afghanistan, millions of afghans fled from Afghanistan to Pakistan and brought a major security threat with them since then Pakistan is struggling to cope up with the security conditions. If you want to blame someone it's west. Anyways I hope you have a good time ahead!

Greetings from Pakistan. Wow, yourselves were treated as VIPs but I can understand your concern . However, it was extra precaution to care of both of you which is a standard practice. I will give full marks to the security people for fulfilling their responsibilities well. As always, use of beautiful words and sentences especially towards the end makes this vlog amazing. Loved it from the start till the end. Simply brilliant. Best wishes for the channel. With warm regards

That was nice as usual you narrates in soothing voice.
As a Pakistani I know there is no issue for anyone to visit such places, but it is considered as Feudal’s area, which doesn’t mean it is not safe.
The point is that in west, if something happens with someone, that’s never highlighted by media, But if any foreigner faces even a minor issue , that’s a big story for western media. They always try to portray that Pakistan is not a safe country. I’m sure you have had many instruction before coming to Pakistan that you must not go to Pakistan, it’s not safe, but reality is different. It’s all western propaganda. (I’m sorry to say western, i meant to say political agenda given to western media to target on).
I’m quite sure your perception have changed after coming to Pakistan. People are very kind and normal as in everywhere, infact more hospitable than other countries.
Anyway, sorry to see you couldn’t enjoy much in Bahawalpur.
