This week, I take on a brand new challenge: cycling through Northern Pakistan-solo! 🚴♀️ Starting from Skardu, I rented a bike and set out towards Khaplu, with plans to visit some cool spots along the way.
From navigating the streets of Skardu to discovering hidden gems like Marsur Rock (Pakistan's answer to Trolltunga!), this trip definitely was way out of my comfort zone. Between struggling with sketchy bike gears, making unexpected friends, and going on a mission to find a bunch of rocks, this adventure proved that sometimes the best experiences come from simply saying "yes" to something new :)
What's in this video:
*First Time on a Bicycle: Renting a bike in Skardu and learning that female cyclists are quite the novelty here
*Mission to Marsur Rock: A steep climb to one of Pakistan's most photogenic rocks
*Journey to Sermik: Solo cycling through Gilgit-Baltistans valleys. The autumn colours made it even better!
*Local Connections: From curious onlookers to helpful strangers, I experienced true Pakistani hospitality
*Finding the Chocolate rocks: a place so mysterious it isn’t even marked on the map.

It’s finally time to go to Deosai National Park! It’s been on my wishlist for forever. Deosai, which translates to ‘Shadow of the Giants’, is one of Pakistan’s most wild and desolate areas. At over 4,000 meters above sea level, it is the second-highest plateau in the world. After starting our journey in Salleri, in this second act we rejoin the ‘official’ EBC trail. Hiking to Everest Base Camp (this was hard)

I’m setting out on a big adventure: I’m trekking to Everest Base Camp, but with a twist. I’m doing it without the help of a guide, porter, or even taking a flight! Instead, it's just me and my boyfriend, a map, and a way-too-heavy backpack, that - spoiler alert - is going to cause me to struggle a lot. In this first act (out of three), instead of flying to Lukla, we first take a bus from Kathma...

That is such a fun idea! This video inspired me to do some kind of a bicycle trip here in Colorado where I live! I was recently in Pakistan in May and it's so nice seeing all the familiar places, can't wait to share my adventures of how lovely and hospitable the Pakistani people are!
Great job
stunning Cinematography, and having cycled and travelled extensively i would just add one thing, never cycle without a helmet, your life can change, or be over in a split second, especially on a bike you have not built yourself and trust. Life is a risk, but some things can be mitigated. Safe travel's, its a stunning country, stay safe.
