What it's Like Being a Female Foreigner in PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN (honest opinion)

  • In this travel vlog, I'm bringing you to Peshawar, one of the oldest cities in South Asia and known for its vibrant bazaars, ancient charm, and amazing hospitality. Come along as we try to navigate the city, encountering unexpected detours and the warmth of helpful locals along the way.
This one is a bit different from my other videos, and takes on a slightly more ‘vloggish’ and personal approach, offering you an unfiltered glimpse into my experiences. I hope you enjoy this different side of my journey! Do let me know in the comments which style you prefer :)
Thank you, your support means the world 💛
    🌞 About Me:
I'm Flora, a female adventurer passionate about hiking, nature, and exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations. My goal is to show what it's truly like to travel in Pakistan - specifically as a female foreigner - and show that it isn’t like what Western media portrays it to be.

    🌟 Journey Highlights:
*Night Bus to Peshawar: we go on a 10-hour night bus from Chitral to Peshawar, setting the tone for the adventure.
*Food Quest in Peshawar: join the search for some vegetarian food in Peshawar, showing my challenge of navigating a meat-centric cuisine.
*Sim Card Mission: Come along with us as we navigate the city to get ourselves local sim cards, which sounds easier than it looks. Luckily, we are in Peshawar, the friendliest city in the world!
*Solo Adventure: I decide to go on a solo exploration, experiencing what it’s like to be a solo female traveler in Peshawar.
    🌐 Practical Info:
*For fellow travelers, the foreigner-friendly hotels I know about in Peshawar are Empire Hotel and Etihad Hotel. Always make sure to check for the latest updates, though!
*While my visit to Peshawar didn't require an NOC, keep in mind that regulations can change. Stay informed and be prepared for unexpected twists when planning your visit to this fascinating city.
*To get a sim card, make sure to go to the main office of the provider you choose to go with, and bring your passports. We went for Zong sim cards and they worked perfectly fine!
    📅 Time of Visit:
    November 9-12th.
    🎥 Gear:
All footage captured on IPhone 14 Pro.
    All music is from Artlist.

Great episode! That’s how a lot of immigrants feel in some parts of Europe, getting stared at constantly for looking/dressing differently, with an added pressure to ‘assimilate’. In 🇵🇰 it’s understood and accepted that foreigners will dress differently, don’t let anyone pressure you to wear a hijab or local dress, the law is on your side.
To be fair, I live in the west surrounded by white folks, but if I was visiting 🇵🇰 and saw a white person, I too would get super curious and look/stare. 🙈

Welcome to Peshawar.......I hope you did not face much trouble. Staring by people is because of two reasons. 1) Its been ages since foreigners used to visit Peshawar. Now they rarely see any. 2) You are staying in a relatively conservative/ poor area. Anyways, I hope things will improve. Just wanna know how long is your stay??as I would like to invite you both for lunch or dinner and also show you around the city, but I will be out of city tomorrow on Saturday and will return in the evening. I can also take you to the Gemstone market which is near your hotel I guess. Since I have many friends in the market, you will get lots of good quality Gemstone as a Gift. Welcome to the city of flowers. I am sorry for the trouble and stares u got, but trust me these people are amazingly friendly, polite, and open hearted. It is always advisable to have a proper guide while exploring the old side of the city. Enjoy ur stay Flora.

How can i not be thankful to all the vloggers who are communicating the real image of our society that is 180 degrees opposite of what we are portrayed by Western mass media tycoons CNN BBC etc.
We got a different culture but love needs no tradition barriers or language to be felt and communicated.
    Thanks a lot mam.❤❤❤

All sim cards works everywhere in Pakistan you don't have to buy again and again just recharge it. Only issue came when you visit northeren areas due to signal issue few networks not working well but in all other country only one sim is enough...

Its my third or fourth time watching this video , you were at old peshawar city but thing is unfourtunatly you wnt there on sunday which made few difficulties like geting connection sim. second thing in these past few years people faced alot of unstability due to which foreigners are not now usullay visit as because of the situation in last decade but now its peace here i am resident of peshawar . third thing is you havent contact to any one so he/she will be able to give you visit to beautiful places of Peshawar ,as peshawar in very rich in history. and also history of Pashtoon are very rich . so its an invitation from my side again come to peshawar be my guest or any one you know him belongs from peshawar , your opion then will be 180 degree change , as you already showed that guy was helping you just because you are guest and its our culture . elders were offering you food and most important thing is language barrier. Anyways Good luck . and again anytime you are welcome to Pakistan.

Nice to see you in Peshawar. I live in peshawar and i believe its one of the best cities in pakistan, peshawars hospitality is unmatched and food is amazing. I think you were getting stares because in peshawar city area girls cover themselves. Like in hijab or burka and they don't really see foreigners in Peshawar. I know that part needs to be changed but otherwise its a great place to live.
Also you passed sethi house you should've visited that place its beautiful and has a long history you would've found out guide there too.
