About Riley not contributing any skills, I am pretty sure, that at the beginning of the series, when Wolfgang cracked the safe, he hadn't been able to crack up until that point in time, it was Riley's musically trained listening skill that allowed him to do so by being able to detect the minute sounds of the tumblers moving in the safe's lock. She just doesn't have as flashy a skill as Wolfgang or Sun.

I got the feeling Riley was the Angelica of this cluster, especially since they all saw their own births through her and there are many hints in the next season that show her ability to reach out to Sense8s like them is stronger than the others.
I love how everybody contributes to breaking Riley out: 1 - Will is actually physically there 2 - Nomi (and Neets) provide the tickets, car, and plan to fuck up the car as a distraction to get him inside 3 - Lito susses out where Riley is 4 - Sun fights the 4 guards 5 - Kala wakes Riley up 6 - Capheus starts the van 7 - Wolf plays chicken with the helicopter and then, the perfect finishing touch, 8 - even Riley contributes at the end; because Will and Whisper made eye contract, Riley has to be the one who gets them out. So elegantly done. I love those big moments the show has; episode 4 ends with them all connecting through music, and from then on they're much more active as a cluster, then in ep... 6 or 7? I think that's the first time it's more than just 2, when Will, Sun, and Capheus all help Nomi escape Whispers (Neets too, although again, she's not part of the cluster). Those little milestones are so satisfying to hit on re-watching the show.
I think, more than the soul, Riley’s been the beacon of the group. She was the first one to connect with someone (Will), and the first to bring them all together (both through the concert and in her hour of need in Iceland). I’d argue Capheus is much more the soul of the group, but Riley’s the reason they all got together in the first place.
17:30 Grindavík is the town where the boat is registered. The name of the boat, Hraunsvík GK 75, is seen on the front. The twilight in Iceland can be several hours giving extra time to get shots like that. Also if you are filming mid summer and lose the light, just wait 30 minutes for the sunrise.
Regarding the "what does Riley contribute" business... as a DJ I take offense to that. But that aside, I believe this show was originally intended to get 5 seasons, and to me it's kind of clear that Riley was intended to become a cluster mother like Angelica, the character parallels between the two are kind of hard to ignore. And that would arguably make Riley a "more valuable" Sensate than most others.
I watched this show a long time go and just recently rewatched it and I’m just blown away at how magical this show is. There’s something about it where you can just feel the love put into every scene. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a show/movie quite like this one

The comments on the cinematography are on point. The entire series is so well shot, due to the main DP for the series. John Toll has been behind the lens on some major movies. He won the Oscar back to back for Cinematography for 'Legends of the Fall '(1994) and 'Braveheart' (1995). He also shot my favorite movie of all time, 'Almost Famous' and 'Vanilla Sky' for Cameron Crowe, 'The Last Samurai', 'Cloud Atlas', 'Jupiter Ascending', and 'The Matrix Resurrections' for the Wachowskis, and 'Iron Man 3' for the MCU. He was a major talent behind the camera and was an exec. producer on the show for all 24 episodes. It is really hard to have a favorite of the cluster, and when I think of the show, it's usually Riley I think of because of her hair. I love all of them, but yeah...Riley is the soul of the cluster. That and the fact that I just adore Tuppence Middleton. Anyway...I am loving the reactions. Until the next one...take care!
Riley is the DJ, she bring joy to the cluster, like you said she is the heart, also her trauma reeealy pulls you in, I didn’t expect them to make it out of there but the boat scene was such a relief (also everyone being there) Helicopters fly visually, but some newer ones have weather radar, but that one is from 2015 and probably even older so that scenario is on point. I loved this reaction video, when I see you guys with the title “Sense8” I know I’m going to be happy with it, always Amazing and fun
the seamless cuts, transitions and takes between actors doing the same scene, ugh. i dont think im ever going to let go, forgive and forget the fact that they cancelled this WORK OF ART while keeping shit shows.
we can wait for season2 until you are ready :) The Christmas special might be a good indicator for how you like a longer version. I felt the ending was powerful, because it was like Whispers looked into you the viewer, and its a perfect hook into what is going to happen. The anticipation was so hard, you have to trust the writers are taking you somewhere good. The world building (as they were making out at least 5 seasons!) is on a grand scale and Im just so happy it exists.

That “i can’t leave her” resonated so much. I think every parent who experience the loss of a child thinks that. I remember when my son died, I was holding him when he took his last breath and the only time I cried was when the nurses came to take his body. I screamed “ no, I can’t leave him, he’s too little, who’s going to take care of him if I’m not there?…” The thought of him alone somewhere cold broke me.
Great reaction! I love that you get the level of planning and organisation that was necessary for this. Basically I was a mess when I first saw this, Riley's readiness to kill herself was like a gut punch, combined with the callbacks to Darryl Hannah's suicide and the flashbacks to Riley's accident. Plus it was great seeing the whole cluster contribute to her rescue. As for Season 2, take all the time you need to. You guys rock, and even though your channel is fairly new you deliver some thoughtful, quality content. (Plus you guys got me into Ted Lasso!) I think your fans - and you do have fans - would rather you take more time to keep the quality high than get your reactions as fast as possible. Look after yourselves and have fun!

He most definitely does not do the right thing in this episode, but he does the necessary thing. I think we can agree that there is a difference there. O love the "primal car" thing with men. I have to laugh every time. Lito gets to do his acting, and Sun's "Is that all" ... lots of fun. Hmmm - eye contact ... Oops! "No, but I know who can!" Yes, Wolfie gets to play "chicken" Grindavik is a town South of Reykjavik. BTW not far from a (new) volcano that erupted recently. It is likely where the boat was built. And Riley did save the cluster! This is one of the first shows where I really learned to appreciate the beauty of filming, ... and sound design, and, and... 😉 Yes, I find that Riley is the caretaker (mother) of the cluster, and come to think of it, she is the only one in the cluster who has given birth. Might she give birth to another cluster, just like Angelica? Jacqui, you are absolutely correct, the full scripting was done before filming started. I can only imagine the staggering amount of planning needed to make it as seamless as it is. Next level writing and filming. Re.: season 2: Make sure to make time for the next episode, known initially as the "Christmas" special. It's a loong one, and I think you will enjoy it very much.
