Pro tip: when using the warrior you can unlock a passive that makes it to where you can heavy attack your shield throws to chain four shield throws on one enemy but if you also unlock the return to sender passive you can deflect your shield with your block for a fifth more damage dealing chain attack. It also looks badass when you do it
@@googleifyouseekayu that was more like a beta tip. If you're not playing the game personally or not interested in playing it why spend time out of your day to criticize unless you have nothing better to do? Leaving a negative review would be one thing because everyone should get to speak their mind about how they feel about the game but don't take to all the comment boards and try to bum out the people that are enjoying it. If they are playing the game it's because they already looked past all the people saying they shouldn't so you're not going to get anywhere saying stuff like that.
Man I'm just loving this game.. I'm absolutely addicted to it.. It's the best dragon age game so far in my opinion..I love the story and combat.. Awesome.. Just awesome 🤠🤗
I'm 40+ hours in and nowhere near the end, its a great game, looks great, excellent combat, decent story, great save system, probably the best fast travel system in a game. The exploration is off the charts with (pretty easy) puzzles to add some variety and the rewards for exploration make it very worthwhile, you get gear, HP and XP. So you cant get renegade points, so what, you're supposed to be a hero, rolepaly a hero....where is it written you should be able to play an evil character if you want to?
Ive liked it so far, the most annoying bit I've found is Varrick is a bit of a debbie downer - we finish a chapter up and he starts telling a story about how what just happened WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES! like jeez dude! every time I recruit someone or find something you butt in to tell me how this is going to fuck me over eventually.
@@dabmainz5858 not yet, and not really seen any consequences from his fear mongering but I have no clue how far in I really am. 1/3rd to 1/2way probably.
@@novafernandez6839 I think there's 12 or 13 parts and you get an achievement/trophy every time you complete a part. That's the only way I was able to keep up with how far I was in the game lol but I hope you enjoy it.
Starting went well from middle to late game I started to see skillup's and Matty's pov abt the game Final missions were better Overall I'd give it a 5/10 Combat and world design hard carried the game imo The writing and dialogue for some conversations are so bad I'd rather be in a Bethesda loading screen
Honestly I wouldnt call myself a long time Dragon Age fan but I replayed every game prior to this one and Im leaning towards the action oriented gameplay. Origins combat was a chore for me. I absolutely hated it. Veilguard on the other hand has probably the best gameplay of them all. I have some issues with the writing here and there especially the fact that our prior choices dont matter at all. Other than that I must say I enjoyed myself a lot. The 3rd act is also probably the best in any BioWare game maybe ME2 is slightly better but yeah. For me its an easy 8/10 game. Not perfect but great. PS: Before anyone starts to pull out the culture war stuff dont even drag me into that. Idc for it thanks.
Man, this game is my GOTY alongside Helldivers 2, i know people will strongly disagree about both of these games, but Veilguard has probably thee best 3rd act i've ever seen in a video game, so good! And the way the game thows you a bone the entire game is incredible, with varric it felt like a 6th sense kind of plot twist, love this game so much their is things i dont like, such as the taash nonbinary stuff, i though she could be a really cool character but half of her dialog is about her being non binary... why? Also, some responses were pretty cheesy. But what game doesn’t have something wrong with it? All in all, i highly recommend playing it all the way to the end to know your opinion.
Honestly, finished the game last night so its fresh in my mind. This feels like what inquisition felt to me. And I like it because of that. I won't lie, dialogue was rough in instances and the story had a lot of ups and downs but so did DAI if I'm being honest. Now I'm not saying that it's a GOTY by any stretch but it is a game I thoroughly enjoyed anx I dodnt see any "woke agenda" being shoved down my throat unless I did Taash's quests which i didnt really do lol. Combat was great fun as I was playing on a custom difficulty. Overall I think i gave it a 7-7.5/10 similar to Inquisition for me. I will always love DAO with a passion but I'm a much more casual gamer so I go in just enjoying what the story is. And I did. Obviously people are allowed to not like it just like I liked it. Yes world states being cut dragged down the game but I wpuld argue that it didnt really even overly matter in DAI. You'd get codices and dialogue that mentioned the previous events but even DAI was fairly self contained although not to the extent of Veilguard. Just my opinion though so don't go starting fires and pointing your pitch forks at me quite yet lmao
I have 50+ hrs in the game and have completed it once already im starting my 2nd play through. I really enjoyed it. Not as much as origina but better than DA2 or Inquisition.
Objectively Id rate them DAO > DAV > DAI > DA2. Subjectively tho i like it as much as origins but only because i MUCH prefer action gameplay over pause and play strategy
@@toghnealandjayThe dialog isn't even that bad. It's no worse than the other dragon age games. People just have nostalgia bias. People forget how rough DA II was in a lot of ways
Yeah the guy talking is much more intelligent then there other youtubers that have no idea what theyre talking about and are just hating on it and bringing other haters is just dangerous in my oppion it’s like a cult of hate
I haven't finished Veilguard but i'm close to last chapter i think. The game got better for me the more i played it. The combat is fun and the companions were more interesting than the intial reveal made me think. But the main draw for me is jsut seeing Solas story concluded. The game isn't as good as Inquisition but i like it for what it is.
this is what a true opinion is, you didn't shy away from the negative and there are positives. But we all can see that the 9/10 and 10/10 is just pure nonsense
@@yupperdude1Cope harder soy boy! This game is flopping hard with massive refunds. You turd gamers are in the minority and the hobby would do better without you
The flaws you mentioned are there but to me they pale in the face of the gameplay which is far more fun than I expected. Story is quite good and the writing is okay, even though there definitely is room for improvement. I hope we will see a DA5 were they improve on the fair criticism. Thanks for your fair review which didn’t jump on the hate-train even though that seems to yield more clicks.
The game is a major let down for any longstanding Dragon Age fan that wanted more of the world as it has been established and the freedom of choice and darkness that was so inherent to the old games. Next to nothing you've done before gets taken in, you can't even get the "Inquisitor" to look like yours did. There's a lot of retconning and whre previous games let you be as virtuous or despicable as you wished this one railroads you into being a goodie goodie, and that is a criticism coming from someone who always plays a good guy, especially on first playthroughs. Some story elements are good, really good, but they're handled poorly and dialogue and companion interactions, especially companion "conflicts" are too frequently weak and/or ridiculous.
In the art book there are story boards for a narrative that would have involved the inquisitor and solas much more than what Veilguard had. They had an excellent foundation and I’m surprised it was all scrapped and we got veilguard instead. I understand it was cancelled once, then revived as a multiplayer and changed to single player, but couldn’t they reuse concepts from earlier development? I was also let down as a longer standing DA fan.
im having fun with the game. only some conversations are questionable but it doesnt really bother me that much. im having fun with the gameplay. its one of those play till finish and move on games to me. fun enough for me to keep playing it.
The game feels too simplified in general. The puzzles, the levels, the sometimes brain-dead dialogue. I hope the game grows on me. I liked the intro with the Solas but am on the fence with what I’m playing after.
@@JaxBizarre I just keep thinking of the Witcher 3 while I’m playing and wondering why the devs didn’t learn from that game, especially when it came to making choices. You made tough choices in the Witcher and so far everything feels very softball in DATV.
Its a 5/10 if you wanted a sequel to origins. But its not a sequel to origins, its a sequel to inquisition, and a damn good one at that…. For the most part lol. Id give it an 8/10
I get the feeling you are going easy on Veilguard here to avoid ruffling feathers. As a huge Dragon Age fan and a life-long gamer, I stand by the widespread criticisms towards Veilguard, and categorically define it as a bad game. Which is heartbreaking. It has the worst writing I've ever seen. It's cringe-inducing, juvenile drivel which often resorts to either straight up disposition or literalization. There is zero nuance, depth, or complexity. It's such a dramatic departure from the rich, textured story and dialogue from previous games that it's shocking to the system. A lazy storyline with generic mustache-twisting villains. Completely sidelined legacy characters and story arcs. One-dimensional, childish party members. A noticeable lack of meaningful player choice or consequence. Watered-down, repetitive combat. Atrocious character designs. Jarring shift of tone in music, atmosphere, and game design. Ham-fisted socio-political commentary. And the list just goes on.... It's the most disappointing game I've ever played. I've gone through a whole process around it, since I love the DA world so much and have been so deeply invested. It's painful to see such a wasted opportunity for one of my most beloved franchises. The only positives are the beautiful environmental graphics, fluid animations, and lack of bugs. But what does that matter if the game itself is shallow and dissatisfying in all the ways that truly matter? It's hard for me to understand how anyone who loves the DA series could ignore, downplay, or deny the overwhelming abundance of fundamental flaws in Veilguard.
Dude, why is it that people always make shxt up in their head about what other people say/do... HE TOLD YOU HOW HE FELT... yet your mind is making up it's own take... and you are going "yep my thoughts are actually how he feels"...
@@exaeon I didn't say that Jor shares my perspectives, opinions, or feelings, and certainly wasn't speaking for him. I said that I think he's "going easy", aka: softening the delivery of his criticisms in order to avoid ruffling feathers, which is understandable considering the divisive public discourse around this game. It's not a judgement, it's an assessment. Then I offered my personal take. Funny how you are doing the very thing that you're accusing me of... projecting.
I agree The graphics for world was pretty nice and made me forget the weird and cringy dialogue sometimes I am not looking forward to the next dragon age game
I'm only disappointed I missed a whole amulet and my last save before it was before the mission. Great game though. I don't see any issues with the dialogue so far as of mid act 1. Public opinion trying to gaslight me out of having fun again!
@@FelisImpurrator I liked the writing a lot too. Don't let others opinions steer you away that's why I always try something myself even if everyone has something negative to say. It doesn't pay off all the time but for this game it sure did. I loved every second and I'm even on a second playthrough as a mage now
Negative statements create more followers (advertising income) then positive statements. Cry "Hate, hate, hate" and you become millionaire. I played 74 hours up to now, play all side quests and I enjoy it!
@dabmainz5858 Honestly? I wouldn't be surprised if the reason people dogged so hard on the writing is that, as they keep admitting, they just skipped most of it. I just got through the Solas conversation just before Weisshaupt and it's fantastic. And the most repeated complaints amount to just taking about three lines of how one character speaks and acting like that's the whole game.
@@FelisImpurrator I definitely agree. I hear a lot about how Rook shows no emotion but that honestly depends on what dialogue you're picking because there's always the sarcastic answer and I feel like that's all people are talking about. Rook is definitely more light-hearted than other dragon age protagonist but I kind of like that change of pace I related to him a lot more and the overall story had me engrossed the whole time. Like come on who's not excited to take down a pair of gods?
I treated the story off jump as "Someone is picking up where my inquisitor left off in the the north. I don't mind the difference in world building compared to DAO-DAI or lack there of. In my head thinking of how things story wise ended in trespasser with Solas, the Narrative in all it's blockbuster-ness is exactly what I anticipated and the big set piece moments w/critical decisions too be made ****Spoilers*** **********Choosing Treviso/Minrathis, Whisaupts Blight Seige, leading to the Rise of the dread wolf's suicide mission really compelled me into seeing how Solas's story played out. Yes the general character writing in some parts were "eh" but i generally didn't mind it. I even enjoyed Rooks male VA more than the male VA for the inquisitor ( albeit he's a noble if you played male human so i get that.) I did wish there were some more varied open ended areas, but lets be honest, do we need another 24 hrs in just hinterlands again? overall, i don't think the games is game of the year material, but it's a solid "ACTION Adventure. definitely a 7.5 out of 10 in my opinion. and EA, try better marketing methods next time if you chose to release a Dragon Age Game.
This is the first review I fully agree with. I also enjoyed my time with the game and I do acknowledge I don’t have the same history as other people who’ve played the entire series (only completed inquisition yes I know shame on me) butthe game could have been better when looking at mass effect and previous games Bioware has released. I did, hower, enjoy my time with the game and hope Bioware takes the feedback from the fans and improves in the right way for upcoming games 🤞
The cringy dialogue. I could move past it like I did in Andromeda. The visual style. bad. but not the end of the world. The unbelievable amount of needless wokness in the game: eye rolling but I could look past it if the story was good. And that's where I draw the line. I don't know what you took away from inquisition, but after playing the trespass DLC. I was excited to see the story of you versus your old teammate or even lover. Fighting against the legion of elves as you have to contend with possible corruption within the Inquisition. But what do we get? Some guy we have no connection to fighting some baddies we have no connection to. You put in all those hours with inquisition for it to end this way? And you're happy about that?
@@Raydr62 That's false, 90% of her story line is that bullshit, worst character in the game and nothing likeable about her. Pretty sure it was wayy more than just 3 min lmao.
Thanks for the video! It does seem like some things were improved, while others were made a little worse.. I'll pick it up when it's on sale later on. :)
Really appreciated this review. So much over-the-top hate for this game that is entirely unmerited. It’s a solid game. Not game of the year material imho, but a good fun game. I for one am glad to have BioWare back.
I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed myself in spite of its many issues and all the hate it gets online. It's piss poor as a DA sequel and I don't blame any longtime fan for feeling let down, but just taken as its own standalone game it's still decently enjoyable and definitely has high points.
Im 30 something hours in playing on nightmare and it actually challenging and fun. The people hating dont even have the game or played on easy and had zero issues. Also people really mad people enjoy games they dont and want to pick a fight which shows how chidlish alot of adults are
I really prefer it, when areas are locked until certain skill sets are applied, that they're either decided by archetype and not character or better yet by skills outside of archetype. Sure, it makes sense for a rogue to be able to pick locks, but maybe the wizard found need for that skill in disarming old shit protecting magical items and maybe the rogue is more of a scout type dude who rarely ran into locks that needed picking. Who knows.
After beating the game I realized that it has 3 endings you choose like ME3 and the entire final quest is just a modified version of ME2 Suicide mission.
@ yeah I took the plunge and brought it due to not many games dropping in November. I will say that I am not disappointed. It’s been engaging so far for me. I’m liking it better than inquisition.
That's what i thought too............ At first. The writing gets really bad among so many other things that I don't feel writing out as a YT comment. But don't let the opinion of others shape your own opinion. 👍 glad you're enjoying the game!
The game gets a lot of hate, because it is not just a new IP that stands by itself, but the long awaited sequel of a beloved franchise. It had big shoes to fill, but unfortunately turned out to have only very small feet
"some parts of the game have a weird focus on platforming". I love the Veilguard parcour! I reminds me of Tomb Raider. This is far away from turned based CRPG. I love turn based very much, but unlike the old style DA fans, which turned into Veilguard haters, I am flexible. Something I don't like in the navigation systems is how multiple aims are handled: if you have to visit three locations, e.g. to solve a serial killer case, you get three direction arrows with three distance tags. This confuses me. Better the game shows only the path to the next target.
I’m 25h in and agree on the criticisms people levy against this game. But my god is it fun! I can’t put the game down. I’m doing all the side content (someone I’ve only done in DAO out of all BioWare games). Despite all the flaws this is shaping up to be my GOTY. And no one is more surprised than me that it came to this.
Hey Guys, Not sure what are you talking about I am have been playing this game more then 50 hrs. Story is below average too dumb downed and simplified. Only Good part is combat which is also dragged down by same enemy just with different skins, No new enemy variety later in game. I'll Be surprised if veilguard any awards at games award. And by No means i am saying its bad game its just average.
@SSGytb Combat is fun though as is finding a good build. I don't like souls like games so I doubt I'd like Wukong. If you can point me to a better game that came out this year I'd be interested. I didn't like Dragon's Dogma 2 controls so much I hardly played it, probably come back to it, Diablo V expansion doesn't cut it for me, WoW war within didn't have staying power. I have a lot games on steam but this year this is the game I am enjoying the most despite the writing. If you can suggest a better game I'm happy to try it if I haven't already.

My thoughts? As an Origins fan who has been progressively more disappointed with each game, I will buy this at a steep discount and probably enjoy it. In the meantime I'll be enjoying Baldur's Gate 3!
@@Rickgrimes123-m8qyou could play a full warrior party and it gets stupidly easy, I took so many turns by mid game that the enemies never had to fight hahaha. Such an awesome game.
I enjoyed Veilguard quite a bit more than BG3, myself. Of course I played BG3 at release when it had quite a few game breaking bugs in the last act. It may very well be a functional game at this point. But the bugs really quite literally made me feel so had wasted 100h playing through it (my whole ending wasn’t in the game, so I got a random ending where dead characters returned and my companions referenced choices I had never made)
Just beat the game, my only complaint is that after beating the game if you continue play through, it sets you back before the point of no return. The downside of this is you loose all upgrades and gear you collect from the endgame, seriously wtf! who thought that would be a good idea 😂
@ well you are entitled to your opinion but you can’t tell someone what’s fun or enjoyable, if you don’t like something then don’t buy it and move on to something else and just cause you don’t like something doesn’t give you any right to put down people for liking it
I was very sceptical about this game, but I am really glad I bought it. Lot of things can be criticized in it, but you can see there's a lot of work put into it (not something like SW Outlaws) and I am really enjoying the combat and the locations are beautiful, story and characters are fine so far.
I'm currently 13 hours in the game, and honestly the critics giving it a 9 or a 10 are insane. However the game isn't a 1-5 as most of the band wagon folks are sauing it is. The game is just a 7/10 for me personally. The combat is awesome, the visuals and art design is great, but the story and choices are a major step down. It doesn't help that the game's dialogue reminds me of all these corny Marvel and Disney movies, I've spent a fair bit already rolling my eyes. Thank god for Solas and Varric being in the game still, otherwise I might have dipped out already.
Not every game has to give you the option to be evil evil if you want that there’s plenty games like that sometimes you just need to follow the good guy storyline
@@Wariyaka Yes it absolutely fucking does. Did you really just say that???? It is in the name!!! ROLE PLAYING GAME! You ROLE PLAY. Wow am I speaking to a child? Role play encompasses everything, including being evil if the player so chooses. You can't call a game a role play if you are restricted in what you can and can't be. That's the whole point of a role playing game, to give the player freedom to be what they want to be. Talking with you low IQ people is astounding all the time. Such basic concepts are confusing to you. Just like the woke people who claim to be all inclusive yet are the most discriminatory and racist excluding large groups solely based off of skin color and alignment. Let's play a role playing game, oh by the way you have to be good, no bad stuff here or else we don't want your kind here. 10/10 from me. Before the first big battle alongside the wardens i was at a 7. But from then the story really picked up and i couldnt put it down. Its not perfect, but the most fun ive had with a game in years
I’m a few hours in. The intro with Solas is really solid. The game has started to go down hill a bit with the introduction of Bellara though. She has a habit of saying obvious things repeatedly. That and the puzzles are insultingly simple and the combat is fun but not anything special. It all feels a little too simplistic, tbh
I played all the big releases in this year, and this one is being one of the best, i would put it in 4th best game of the year. The atmosphere and world building are awesome, the characters are good (except taash) the combat is enjoyable too. Its a solid 8 game
@@angelgomez7081 I bet he played Dragon Age The Veilguard and... yeah that's pretty much it Shadow of the Erdtree, Black Myth Wukong, Metaphor ReFantazio, Dragon's Dogma 2, Space marine 2, Silent Hill 2. Hell even Black Ops 6 is suprisingly fun. Veilguard can only be your game of the year if you haven't played literally anything else
Bioware needs to hire some better writers, clearly all the good ones they had are gone. It not atrocious by videogame standards, its just very mid 2000s AA bargain bin level... Which for Bioware is just really sad. While the game has issues beyond just the writing, that is ots biggest Achilles heal for sure, and the biggest hurdle i see for them achieving greatness with future titles.
I’m enjoying the game. Only disappointment so far is not being able to romance everyone. Only one romance per playthrough?? I’m usually an absolute slut my first time through.
Jorraptor and Team, Can you please address the total number sold of Veilgaurd 500,000 vs previous Dragon age game over 10 million. Why do you think that is? Thank you
@flaccofever1234 OH I did, but did Jorraptor? Lol. I would like him just to address the reality of this game instead of ignoring it. Sort of silly it doesnt get brought up ever how badly this game undersold.
I totally agree with your review. Sadly most people are super polarized and either love this game or hate it. For me this game is a solid 8, it's better than most games I played lately but it's no masterpiece and the dialogue is the worst part.
@Hoentje-wp8ph the games I've played in the last 30 days or so were warhammer rogue trader, pathfinder wotr and drova. It's not hard to give this game a good grade if you make your own build and fight some darkspawn and a dragon. Most of what this game delivers if you just ignore the dialogue is pretty good.
Hahaha! 8??? You realize this game is a huge flop right? Its a dumpsterfire. Your opinion is wrong and just laughable. You have 0 idea what makes a good game
Thanks to this game, I will never be quick to judge a product again. I was in the hater camp without knowing what this game is. Do not make the same mistakes I did and try it. You will have plenty of fun. It is weird how a game like Metaphor ReFantazio, which I played before The Veilguard, got me bored and made me not finish it while The Veilguard got me hooked throughout the entire game. I was never bored playing it.
The game is amazing. It's an 8 or 9, depending on your taste. This is the first game in a long time that I'm actually going to finish. Black myth, is another amazing game this year. If you like rpgs, and action games you will love this game.
It's great when it clicks but I do totally see why people would think it's meh. Somewhere in the 6-9 range is probably a pretty fair when being reasonably objective. I've played 50 hours but not finished yet so holding out on the ending, though I would say I don't think it's a great Dragon Age game but a good action RPG.
@kowaikokoro i didn't say they are the same. i said they are both good games, and I showed the type of games I like, meaning i like different games. Both are considered action rpgs, though. Hogwarts is another amazing action rpg.
This vidio has half the dislike i can still see them because I am using certain version of TH-cam if u know what I mean i thought everyone loved and trusted your channel people are just hating this game because their life ie empty
Most fans agree it's fine as an ARPG, the criticism is mainly towards the writing and lack of respect for the established lore and themes of the series.
I love how he tells his opinion and people always go... "no... this is how you actually feel" and most of those people haven't even touched the game... they just watched what other people said... online... people they don't know...
Herd mentality. The sheep already got their script of talking points to recite, but the independent thinkers all formed their own opinions which vary wildly and deviate from the talking points meaningfully.
@@FelisImpurrator Your not independent... you watch a fxkcing video and form your opinion while others play the game... and form an opinion... your opinion literally comes from someone giving their opinion...
@@FelisImpurrator lol. Gotta love the intelligent arguments you make as an "independent thinker" - insult people with meaningless rhetoric. Nice. You are aware of the fact that there was a coordinated, corporate media campaign that deliberately employed access journalism to push a positive narrative for this game prior to launch (and is still ongoing), right? Look up the gaming & entertainment brands of Ziff Davis, and all their subsidiaries. Then look up which game companies gave Veilguard a 10/10 review. Then look at the repeated talking points used in those reviews. Then we'll talk sheep.
@deusfortier5635 I didn't read them, so they have no influence on my opinion. It's a good game. 8/10, 8.5, not sure until I see more of it. I dropped in with literally minimal media exposure other than Mortismal Gaming (whose reviews are 90% factual descriptions of the game and 10% personal opinion, usually) and Bioware tweeting about the feature list. So I missed the part where that's my problem. Why did you comment just to get offended when your best rebuttal is literallya "tu quoque" fallacy... Which is an implicit concession of the point? "Oh yeah? Well your side is full of sheep too!" isn't the own you think it is.
@@FelisImpurrator I didn't say you are a sheep. I highlighted the objective fact that there are actual talking points being deployed by corporations to push a positive narrative for this game, then used your own rhetoric to demonstrate the irony of your "argument", if you want to call it that. I'm not offended. I'm entertained.
The ending part of the game is amazing seeing Solas in all his glory. He is amazing powerful. I played a female dalish rogue veiljumper. By the end I could headshot most of the harder enemies in two to three shots. Bloody awesome
They told us there was not dlc since the beginning, bioware dlcs have always been cut out parts of the og game, so please don't try to bring that statement up, the games doing fine on sales and is really good on the highest player count on steam for EA.
I have to give a thank you to all you content creators and your coverage of this abomination. It has made me appreciate and pine for the older games. I just installed origins through Xbox game pass and I'm about to start a new, good, story.
As as standalone ARPG I can agree but it deviates heavily from thr previous CRPG and ARPG formula that made the franchise so much better, that it feels like a downgrade on so many ways.
The biggest sinner of the franchise was Inquisition imo. Veilguard feels more like DA than that piece of shit game. Still to this day I get angry when I think of the bad gameplay of Inquisition…
The game was fun, im on my 3rd playthrough now. The mage i enjoyed the most overall, warrior right behind and rogue i feel like i would enjoy more if they hadn't made the bow feel so secondary. It seems most people have issues with the "woke" moments in the game and thats whats stopping them from playing. I say just skip through those dialogues and enjoy the rest of the game.
I’m loving the game but combat feels weird with rogue class. There’s a noticeable input lag in some actions, but most importantly, character keeps performing combo chains and moving seconds after you’ve pressed any button. It’s a shame because animations and game feel are amazing l, but it all gets diminished by this lag in every action you do. I don’t notice any difference between performance and fidelity in this respect. ¿Someone else has the same problem or is it just me?
Despite all the online hate i bought the game and I am enjoying it i must say. In the beginning you must choose your pronouns, but after that i never saw any gender or other woke bullshit in my 30 hours. It may not be the best game ever, but i have fun with it. And in the end the end, that's what counts: having fun and enjoying it.
Haven't gotten very far yet, but so far I haven't been able to really put my foot down or scold someone for something I didn't agree with, be it actions or behavior. Like I'm not allowed to hurt their feelings or make them so angry they leave. So far at least. Like Taash. Taking away all the reasons people dislike the character, then Taash is still a whiny, self-righteous, better than thou prick and needs someone to slam the table and say "my way or the highway". Also what did they do to Isabela? Where is my cussing, bad mannered, mean spirited, not caring about your feelings queen of the sea? Why is she doing pushups to say sorry? If you need to do something extra for the apology to mean something, does that not mean to say sorry too often and it's lost it's value? Confused. Not sure I'll finish the game though. Got some good stuff in it, but feels way too metroidvania and linear compared to even dragonage 2 and I more often than not get taken out of the immersion in a conversation than drawn in. Doesn't feel like the deep, immersive rpg I'd expect from the dragonage series. Instead it feels like fantasy, single player First Descendant with slightly better translation, but not much which could explain the bad dialogue and less eye-candy. It's an okay fantasy game, but it's a bad dragonage game. In my opinion at least.

@@TurdFerguson-td9nx played and enjoyed every single game mate, so don't say "real DA" fans like you have any modicum of authority. The game has come out a decade after the last installation in the series, with completely different people working on it. It does some things well and drops the ball in other places. It falls short of being a good continuation of previous story but serves up a decent action RPG experience that many people are enjoying.
I was with you. Sub $30 and I would give it a try. But after seeing clips and gameplay for myself. Not just listening to random internet hate. I think I'm going to have to pass on it all together. For me, dragon age is going to end with the image of the full group standing on the balcony at the conclusion of the trespasser DLC.
Such a let down. The combat was okay but the dialogue and characters were so uninteresting. More than anything that scene where they do push ups to apologise for misgendering a Qunari is completely insane. What actually happened to the Qunari? Were they victims of prima nocta? Bred out by humans? Just the worst way to ruin a gaming series. Hopefully the writers never work on a video game again.

The exploration is off the charts with (pretty easy) puzzles to add some variety and the rewards for exploration make it very worthwhile, you get gear, HP and XP.

I enjoyed the game… but what annoyed me was the lack of Dwarven cosmetics… i loved their armor sets from previous games

This comment is more accurate than the whole video

"some parts of the game have a weird focus on platforming". I love the Veilguard parcour! I reminds me of Tomb Raider. This is far away from turned based CRPG. I love turn based very much, but unlike the old style DA fans, which turned into Veilguard haters, I am flexible. Something I don't like in the navigation systems is how multiple aims are handled: if you have to visit three locations, e.g. to solve a serial killer case, you get three direction arrows with three distance tags. This confuses me. Better the game shows only the path to the next target.

Honestly, it’s edging towards GOTY for me- it’s not exactly been the best year for games, but I’ve been having a serious blast
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 You need to leave the hobby, this is the dumbest crsp ive ever read
Damn what games did you play this year?
@@angelgomez7081 I bet he played Dragon Age The Veilguard and... yeah that's pretty much it
Shadow of the Erdtree, Black Myth Wukong, Metaphor ReFantazio, Dragon's Dogma 2, Space marine 2, Silent Hill 2. Hell even Black Ops 6 is suprisingly fun. Veilguard can only be your game of the year if you haven't played literally anything else
@ yeah seriously. This year has had some bangers. Even Helldivers and stellar blade
@@michaelpitou3690 AlsoFinal Fantasy Rebirth, Like a Dragon Infnite Wealth, Astrobot, Tekken 8 (if you like fighting game),
Bioware needs to hire some better writers, clearly all the good ones they had are gone. It not atrocious by videogame standards, its just very mid 2000s AA bargain bin level... Which for Bioware is just really sad. While the game has issues beyond just the writing, that is ots biggest Achilles heal for sure, and the biggest hurdle i see for them achieving greatness with future titles.
40 hours? How so fast? Easy GOTY for me, a masterpiece. Higher difficulty is so much more satisfying.
Thank you
Did you not see all the ppl freaking out online about dei?
@flaccofever1234 OH I did, but did Jorraptor? Lol. I would like him just to address the reality of this game instead of ignoring it. Sort of silly it doesnt get brought up ever how badly this game undersold.
no mention of how cool Taash is, didn't you like her?
We need to expanse the ending
I totally agree with your review. Sadly most people are super polarized and either love this game or hate it. For me this game is a solid 8, it's better than most games I played lately but it's no masterpiece and the dialogue is the worst part.
With all due respect, what shit games have you been playing that makes it an 8?
@Hoentje-wp8ph the games I've played in the last 30 days or so were warhammer rogue trader, pathfinder wotr and drova. It's not hard to give this game a good grade if you make your own build and fight some darkspawn and a dragon.
Most of what this game delivers if you just ignore the dialogue is pretty good.
@@dilsoncamacho4100the design for the Qunari alone makes it a 5 for me 😂
Hahaha! 8??? You realize this game is a huge flop right? Its a dumpsterfire. Your opinion is wrong and just laughable. You have 0 idea what makes a good game
@ this loll
It would be sweet if you could play thus multiplayer like Boulder's gate
Il wait for it to go on Gamepass. This game is not what I wanted in a Dragon Age game in terms of writing and narrative.
40 hours? I’m 47 hours in and about to start chapter 2 xD oeps.
im sorry for your loss
Sounds like the game was made for people exactly like you. JFC.

@NumnutSify so who is the demographic for this game in your opinion? Because im a white straight married male, and I love it .
There is no way you put DA:V and black myth wukong in the same sentence, is this an out of season april fools joke?
@kowaikokoro i didn't say they are the same. i said they are both good games, and I showed the type of games I like, meaning i like different games. Both are considered action rpgs, though. Hogwarts is another amazing action rpg.
Yes this game is very stunning and extremely brave.
@@kowaikokoro People has tastes, you know? If you didn't like DA:V, that's good. Nonetheless, other people are entitled to like it.
This vidio has half the dislike i can still see them because I am using certain version of TH-cam if u know what I mean i thought everyone loved and trusted your channel people are just hating this game because their life ie empty
You have no idea how full I am with life. Dude, don't make cheap assumptions, but keep focusing on YOUR life and become mature, isn't it about time?!!
@pematsering4517 what cheap assumptions wtf are u talking about biatch he has more dislike then likes what immature about stating facts u dumb f 🖕
Most fans agree it's fine as an ARPG, the criticism is mainly towards the writing and lack of respect for the established lore and themes of the series.
Haha! What fans??? This DA game is played by normies. Fans wouldnt buy this trash

This is great game, ive neen playing and its the second best dragonage to dste, my lets play on my channel
The ending part of the game is amazing seeing Solas in all his glory. He is amazing powerful. I played a female dalish rogue veiljumper. By the end I could headshot most of the harder enemies in two to three shots. Bloody awesome
The combat gameplay looks alot like Neverwinter
My only complaint of the game is the blurriness and the artefacting is horrendous just to play 60fps on console
Looks like it might be fun to play...if it wasn't stuffed with woke ideology and dialogue
Stop crying
So… Youre just not a fan of bioware games?
give it a rest snowflake
Make a real argument.
Trump 2024
They just announced the game is going nowhere. Not even DLC.
That's how much it hasn't really succeeded
They told us there was not dlc since the beginning, bioware dlcs have always been cut out parts of the og game, so please don't try to bring that statement up, the games doing fine on sales and is really good on the highest player count on steam for EA.
I have to give a thank you to all you content creators and your coverage of this abomination. It has made me appreciate and pine for the older games. I just installed origins through Xbox game pass and I'm about to start a new, good, story.
You're starting a very old good story.
Dragon age origins is the goat
As as standalone ARPG I can agree but it deviates heavily from thr previous CRPG and ARPG formula that made the franchise so much better, that it feels like a downgrade on so many ways.
The biggest sinner of the franchise was Inquisition imo. Veilguard feels more like DA than that piece of shit game. Still to this day I get angry when I think of the bad gameplay of Inquisition…
What a chill
The ending of this video goes way too far into spoiler territory
I haven't had any of these issues, nor have I seen any review online talk about that issue either
@@Raydr62I read people on Reddit having the same issues on PC. I’m playing on PS5 Pro with an LG G3 TV.
Did Jor quit voicing these videos? Or is this an AI voice using his accent? That is not Jor.
One fo the best and funny game in this decade
Despite all the online hate i bought the game and I am enjoying it i must say.
In the beginning you must choose your pronouns, but after that i never saw any gender or other woke bullshit in my 30 hours.
It may not be the best game ever, but i have fun with it.
And in the end the end, that's what counts: having fun and enjoying it.
😂😂😂😂😂
Is/Are it/he/she or they ?
Keep the combat and put it into a different story, please, it would be incredible
I can't take this channel serious anymore unsubbed.
👋 bye 👋
Combat/gameplay solid
Story felt rushed
RPG/dark fantasy almost non existent
The forcing to agree with the pronouns trash
Scars were horrible
Every female looks like a board
All in all game felt rushed choices didn’t really affect game
No good or bad elements definitely a step back for the series
I enjoyed this Game it does have flaws it’s the dialog and the characters most of them are meh the finale was great though it’s worse than dao and dai. I would say on the same tier as da2
Most dissapointing rpg of the decade 😮
It isn't though

@@zeusymoosey3348It is and its an insult for to real DA fans
@@TurdFerguson-td9nx played and enjoyed every single game mate, so don't say "real DA" fans like you have any modicum of authority.
The game has come out a decade after the last installation in the series, with completely different people working on it. It does some things well and drops the ball in other places. It falls short of being a good continuation of previous story but serves up a decent action RPG experience that many people are enjoying.
@@TurdFerguson-td9nxSpeak for yourself.
What happened to these amazing graphics from trailer? It looks childish
Ill buy this game when its half off
I was with you.
