If anyone thought the crowd's reaction was good on TV, then you missed a lot more in the stands. I sat on the entry to Turn 1 and saw the entire thing. The crowd immediately erupted before the crash even happened. We knew it was gonna happen. The whole "I had a flat tire" story is all wrong. Once he hooked onto Logano's rear bumper, he kept going. It was the best takeout/revenge I've seen in a long time.

+NascarNixon Real NASCAR fans loved it! Even the most loved driver of all time, Dale Earnhart regularly got payback on pussies like Logano to keep them honest. Kennseth has always been highly respected by the other drivers, because he races them the same way they race him. Some of these new punks, particularly Logano, need to learn those rules of respect. It's funny that Logano thinks its fine for him to wreck others, but whines like a little baby girl when he gets wrecked.
The key in this case is the timing. This wreck denied Logano to be in the final race. Well deserved justice. Logano denied Kenseth a well deserved victory.
This was an appropriate response by Matt Kenseth. His chase hopes came to an end at Kansas because of Logano, and now Logano's hopes are essentially done because of Kenseth, so now Logano knows how it feels. I was at home on the TV and the crowd was cheering and very happy, and so was I!
What a perfect day in the NASCAR world. Gordon puts his drive for 5 in gear, my guy Denny Hamlin rebounds after an early crash, and Logano finally gets what has been coming for him over the past 2 years.

Ok I'm a Penske/Keselowski fan and I gotta say this: I have no problem with what Matt did to Joey. Joey had his coming. He messed with the bull at Kansas and the bull let it slide. He messed with the bull again at Talladega and Kenseth only let it slide because of the Harvick incident. Ealier in the race he bumped Logano and passed him clean. Perfectly fine with that. In my opnion, Kenseth never intended to take Joey out UNTIL the contact Keselowski because of Joey, I think he would have done a regular martinsville spin. Like I said, I am a fan of Penske and Keselowski (not Joey though, never liked him), but Kenseth had enough of being bullied by Penske cars. I do think that what happened between Kes, Kurt, and Matt was pure racing, but I'm not gonna say that Kes has nothing to worry about because he should and if NASCAR doesn't suspend Matt, Matt is well within his rights to race Keselowski tough, rough, and hard for the rest of the year. Keselowski now is in defense mode because even the slightest bit of contact with Matt will justify Matt going after him. Should he wreck Keselowski. No not unless Keselowski makes the first move. Should he race Kes hard for the rest of the year and make it tough for him? You're damn right. And that's coming from a BIG Keselowski fan

+Crypteass No, Kenseth lost his chance to make the chase because he blocked Logano way more than is acceptable on a non restrictor plate track, and Logano quite rightly put the bumper to him. I find it astonishing that anyone could view Logano as the bad guy in that situation. I like both drivers, but when you block someone right up into the wall, you've _got_ to realize that he's going to move you at that point. There's not a competitive driver on the planet who wouldn't have booted Kenseth in that situation.

Good. Keselowski, Logano and Team Penske are all dirty. Payback was very overdue. Great drive into the wall, and continued push after he hit the wall to ensure the car was toast. This is old-time NASCAR enforcement, the way NASCAR used to run.

Been a fan of Kenseth ever since I saw him win the 2007 Auto Club 500, and I remember when Logano began racing in 2008. I never really cared for Logano, but after Kansas, I wanted this to happen, and I knew that Joey had it coming, but I'm pissed that Matt was suspended from the Texas race, one of my favorite races of the year. I actually want Gordon to win the championship at this point, I'm glad he won the race and not Logano.
My wife and I were watching the race and had to take a double take. I figured Kenseth was going to do something, but didn't know it was going to be this and this soon. Logano was sooner or later going to get some sort of payback from somebody out on the track. Last couple seasons or so he's been tapping a bunch of people out there and definitely several of the veterans. I'm wondering how aggressive and desperate Logano gets now that he basically has to win to be in at Homestead. He can still make it though. The 22 team has been strong all year so its possible he still makes it. Will make the next two races interesting for sure.

If he flat out says he took out Logano NASCAR would have no choice to penalize him (which they will probably still will penalize him) but it could lessen the penalties, just like how Harvick didn't admit to wrecking the field last week and got away with it.

Kurt Busch used to be one of the worst drivers when I came to payback and aggressive driving now he actually isn't that bad anymore. I think some needs to do something because Penske has become the most hated team in NASCAR because of Keslowski's and Logano's actions. I'm glad tho that Matt Kenseth gave Logano what he deserved. People on both sides are trying to use Dale Earnhardt as an example of how payback works so one of these sides is remembering Big E the wrong way. @@TurboScepturrr64 I said the same thing on the full Richmond race video. The irony of two drivers with a track record of doing the same to other drivers had karma bite them that day. At least Denny was self aware about his history during his interview, Joey continues to be a clown.
I understand that Logano was frustrated by losing the race like that but he needs to control his frustration better. He has already made other drivers angry and Matt Kenseth taking revenge is a clear example.
There's a reason I always liked Hamlin. Logano went too far with his maneuver when entering the pits after the cool-down lap.
That was a somewhat stupid move by Kenseth that I somewhat saw coming, but oh, am I glad he did it.
I just watched this again for the first time in a while and it just brings a smile to my face every time.

I’ve been a Matt Kenneth fan since birth (tells you how long he’s been racing) and ever since Joey joined, I always thought he was just a young punk. He’s been a emotional wrecking ball and when Matt did this, I almost cried tears of joy.
It was great to see Logano knocked down a peg or two today as Kenseth wiped that stupid grin off his face. It's not why I watch racing, but that was well-deserved.

Also there is no difference whether or not Kenseth was a lap down an wrecked him on purpose. Kenseth lost his chance to make the chase because Logano spun him the previous week. In both instances they dropped points and I don't want to hear this shit about it being a "wreckless" payback, Kansas is a much faster track an who knows where Kenseth's car could have ended up at that speed. Imagine him over correcting an we see another McDowell wreck.

+Crypteass No, Kenseth lost his chance to make the chase because he blocked Logano way more than is acceptable on a non restrictor plate track, and Logano quite rightly put the bumper to him. I find it astonishing that anyone could view Logano as the bad guy in that situation. I like both drivers, but when you block someone right up into the wall, you've _got_ to realize that he's going to move you at that point. There's not a competitive driver on the planet who wouldn't have booted Kenseth in that situation.
I think that's one of the most hilarious things I've seen in NASCAR in years. I didn't think Kenseth had the cojones. Obviously, I was wrong, and the shade of Curtis Turner still walks among us. :))

Been a fan of Kenseth ever since I saw him win the 2007 Auto Club 500, and I remember when Logano began racing in 2008. I never really cared for Logano, but after Kansas, I wanted this to happen, and I knew that Joey had it coming, but I'm pissed that Matt was suspended from the Texas race, one of my favorite races of the year. I actually want Gordon to win the championship at this point, I'm glad he won the race and not Logano.

My wife and I were watching the race and had to take a double take. I figured Kenseth was going to do something, but didn't know it was going to be this and this soon. Logano was sooner or later going to get some sort of payback from somebody out on the track. Last couple seasons or so he's been tapping a bunch of people out there and definitely several of the veterans. I'm wondering how aggressive and desperate Logano gets now that he basically has to win to be in at Homestead. He can still make it though. The 22 team has been strong all year so its possible he still makes it. Will make the next two races interesting for sure.
And the crowd goes wild! Whether they admit it or not, Nascar loves this for the ratings!

That crowd roared because Joey is on everyone's hate list at this point. And Joey wasn't like this before Penske. I think it's honestly the whole Penske organization. Kurt Busch used to be one of the worst drivers when I came to payback and aggressive driving now he actually isn't that bad anymore. I think some needs to do something because Penske has become the most hated team in NASCAR because of Keslowski's and Logano's actions. I'm glad tho that Matt Kenseth gave Logano what he deserved.
