Thanks for playing the map! The coverage in the 5th round was from June 2023. I would suppose they filmed in the morning of midsummer which is a holiday so explains why theres no cars around. 03:55 There is a pretty new law that requires to inform about CCTV in public spaces, thats why there is a lot of those signs nowadays.

the motomaatti is basically just a repair shop for small quick fixes and stuff (checking/adding motor oil and windshield washing fluid, reading obd codes, battery changes etc) they also usually do stuff like change windshield wipers or head/taillights for free if you bought those at that motonet. it's quite convenient to just drive into there and wait a bit
That's great that you can buy headlights or wipers and they'll do the quick install.

The reason the Hesburger said "jumbo" is because it's a part of the Jumbo shopping mall.

Motomaatti is a small, one maned, service station. They change your car battery, headlights and some other small things
In Finland the traffic lights change with yellow to both directions and turning right on red is not allowed. They don't make oil changes in Motomaatti booths, but some smaller things like changing wipers or headlight bulbs. The ad there said "Summer driver's check package 9€". I don't know what it includes but I guess checking the oil etc.
The last round store was the only one of these where I have been shopping. It would be funny to know the exact date of the footage. In Finland there are some special days when it is recommended to fly the flag. It must have been one of those.
What days would one would wave the flag of Finland?
@@alloverthemap23 Eg. independence day, mothers' day, midsummer and memorial days of many historical figures. There are about 30 days in year when flag flying is recommended. It's of course just a recommendation, not mandatory. And of course you can use the flag any time when you want. Eg. own birthday :)
Korjaamo literally means (a place where (things) are fixed) in this case it's autokorjaamo, or car mechanic.
Finns tend to rely heavily on context, so they drop words where applicable.

Korjaamo is a general word for repair workshop, in this case for automobiles. Should be: "Autokorjaamo", to be specific.
I'm always threatening to take my girlfriend to Motonet if she spends too much time in Ikea when I'm with her, just to show that two can play that game.

The flags are only up on certain dates. So according to the weather, it must be either the 1st of May, or the "Defence Forces' flag day" (= the birthday of C. G. E. Mannerheim) or Juhannus (the midsummer's day). It may also be a very late easter, who knows. But rarely you can see flags hoisted unless there's an official reason for it.
Doubt it would be Easter considering the deciduous trees are fully green. I'd say Juhannus is most likely, considering also that every shop is closed.
Easter is not a flag day. I guess Juhannus because is summer and Motonet is closed.

Then there are the "established flag days" (vakiintuneet liputuspäivät), which state/municipalities and usually companies fly the flag on. And in warmer months those are: national veteran's day (April 27), Europe day (May 9), day of Finnishness/J. V. Snellman's day (May 12), memorial day of the fallen (third Sunday of May), day of poetry and summer/Eino Leino's day (July 6), day of Finnish nature (last Saturday of August).
About Finnish flags. We have several official flag days. But you can fly your Finnish flag other days also. But because there are several Finnish flags it's a general flag day, not Motonet's birthday. Ministry of the Interior writes: "Flying the flag is a great way to express joy and emphasise a day of celebration. Flying the flag is also a great way of showing respect or expressing sorrow. There is no reason to be shy about flying the flag. No reason is too small for flying the flag."

5 with all the flags: we have very strict flag laws in Finland, u are only allowed to fly the flag on specific "flagdays" that are scattered throughout the year, so this streetwiew was probably made on such a flag day, it's also illegal to have your flag out at night with the exception of midsummers 😅

That’s not exactly true. That law is for the goverment buildings. Private citizens and businesses can fly the flag how ever they want but using it ”wrong” is considered rude.
They are in the process of expanding to Sweden.
Motonet has recently been opening stores in Sweden as well 😅
Based on that last round... how about Kärkkäinen? Maybe there should be a Geoguessr game for about that...
But aint there like only 3 kärkkäinen in finland Lahti I Think has the biggest one
I would go to motonet for parts only if other places dont have what im looking for 😂
