It sounded pretty bloody good to me, until the last five minutes of this track. I wouldn't consider myself an afficionado of current metalcore either. I found the ending disappointing, because it was so... dissociative, for lack of a better word.

this strikes me as a band making the music they genuinely want to make regardless of what the industry wants. I write music with this philosophy too, i love it.
Like I imagine one of the band members going "oh it would be so cool to have a sick ambient synth section with spacey piano and then go into a funky section!" and no one said "but what if listeners don't make it all the way to the funky section?" and that's a beautiful thing.

They will never be as big as someone like Bring Me The Horizon, because BMTH figured out how to do it. You have to purposely add generic stuff to your music to get popular mainstream wise as a metalcore band. So if that means ST is never as big, then so be it. At least we have an amazing sound to listen to.

I went through so many emotions listening to this multiple times, and seeing Nik try and predict the ending brought a smile to my soul. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY saw it coming. But I'm 100% here for it 😂🤘
This will honestly be my new pick for song to use when introducing people to Sleep Token since it captures so much of their full range... This song is incredible.

I caught the Vore release and hadn't heard of them before that. The Summoning is such a great song. I've been listening to it, Vore, and Alkaline on repeat for 4 days and have already bought the album and a t-shirt lol. It's been a while I have liked a new band this fast this much. They are incredible.
Seen these live a few times at Alexandra Palace supporting Architects and they're phenomenal. Can confirm Vessel's voice is as good if not better live. But they're all supremely talented.

For a decade, Linkin Park was my all-time favorite band. Other bands came close over the years, but couldn't top what they did for me. I discovered Sleep Token last year through Nik's reaction to Alkaline and I can say without a doubt that Sleep Token is my new favorite band. I plan to get their symbol tattooed on my wrist this year. Linkin Park guided me through grade school and high school. Sleep Token is going to guide me through the rest.

This is by far the best song from start to finish they have created. So many different layers in all 3 different sections of the song.
I honestly feel like this is the year that Sleep Token will pull the "industry card" and do some features and dive deeper into this kind of sound.
I've said it before and I'll say it a million times again, Sleep Token is what Prince would have done had he been raised in a different era with the same talent.

That paired with Vessel being basically the entire band outside of the drummer and having the range and musical talent he does, that just screams Prince to me.

They way genres are effortlessly mixed by this band gives me severe queen vibes. Queen was phenomenal in mixing elements and I haven’t heard a band effortless do that yet. The ability to change a song without having the audience immediately notice the element change is amazing. 2023 is the year of ST

It's been years since i've listened to a song and after it I went like: "Wow, that's an experience". It's like this one song takes you through this rollercoaster that other bands need an entire album to take you through. Even The Devil Wears Prada, which is my favorite band, a band which, might I add, also knows a thing or 2 about taking listeners through the motions, hasn't given me such a vibe recently. And Chokehold also feels grand. I'm telling you, with this material, Sleep Token can be taken to the stratosphere.
Honestly i would pay 50 bucks for a ticket just to watch them sing this song and only this song live.

Sleep Token is the only band where I love every single song they’ve released. Every. Single. One. 58 total I think.
They don’t have recycled riffs, sampled melodys- it’s all unique messages, gorgeous lyrics documenting the human experience in a way, making me feel how I haven’t felt in a long time.
My favorite song from them? The Night Does Not Belong to god, followed by Higher and When the Bough Breaks.
But I love all of them. Truly both albums I listen to fully and regularly. They are not confined by genre or audience. They are driven by Worship. And I worship their art fully.

Saw them yesterday opening for Architects in Frankfurt, Germany. Never heard of them before and didnt like the songs on spotify that much but damn thats an awesome live band. You feel the chunky riffs in your chest, the culty masked people on the stage make an awesome atmosphere, the way the singer moves gives some chilly vibes. Solid 5/7

These dudes have always been respectably heavy..not as present in their older music for sure. Calcutta is the first song I ever heard by them and it blew my mind…the lo-fi ethereal choral buildup then the heaviness at the end..such a great song
I was gonna make a Deftones feat Hozier joke like I usually do with Sleep Token but then the insane high cleans and the solo, and the absolutely brutal 4/4 breakdowns…I don’t even have a funny joke anymore. This was just good.
I remember this release really clearly. I wasn't streaming but when I got the notification of a new stream I stepped aside from work so go listen and my emotions pretty much mirrored. What an exciting day and it's cool we have this like, frozen in time, you know? The "What? Another one?" then the journey of "Holy shit they're doing THIS" over and over and over for 6 minutes. I'm thrilled with the success they're finally seeing this year with this day as their launchpad.
According to genius there is a new album coming this year and Sleep Tokens headline tour starts in 11 days so my guess is a new song every day until then and the tour and full album coincide
