the litlle lamprey at the end was amazing.. here in NY Catskills,, the ole locals would swear by saying they top best bait for the upper Delaware river walleyes .. but i always used lures yes we are all fishermen and love the Mts..did it all saltwater freshwater lake mainly flyfishing nowadays if and when I get to enjoy my woods too .. great video folks ty for sharing ..enjoyed
Great video as usual Linda. Thank you! The closing words at the end are a good reminder to enjoy every minute in the water, regardless of catching your limits... I met your dad down there a few weeks back and we had a lot of fun! I did the last trip of the year this week. Much easier to venture the jungle trails in the less-lush-fall-bush than it was 2 months ago. Most of the Coho I hooked were old but managed a fresh hatch which made my day. Take care and hopefully will meet at the water in future seasons
Great video and a beautiful fish. And it really is about the walk and being out in nature. All those dying salmon will feed the next generation of salmon! Keep these great videos coming.
Great video and you're absolutely right, fishing is all about the whole experience! That cracked me up about the Super Karen fishing guide saying you are blowing up the river😅. I must have missed the part where you gave gps coordinates to that spot. Nothing against guides but they do take people right to a particular spot so that is pretty rich. Thanks for sharing!
There always has to be a "Debbie Downer", an old SNL reference for the younger crowd. A fishing guide whining about you blowing up the river is ironic. Anyway, I love the videos with your dad and love his song at the end. Fishing with family is the best.
Linda, finally got a chance to drop in on your channel and really loved watching this day. Your excitement is so amazing and like you are on the other channel you are a real person, so is Rod by the way no dissing him ever; but I bet he doesn't have fish gutting nails. Looking forward to seeing more of your channel and wishing you an awesome time!
Awesome video Linda! love Coho on fly rod. Been on Vancouver island this year on start of October for 2 weeks for fishing holiday and it was a epic holiday! Cant wait to get there again:) Greetings from far away Scotland and tight lines to you and your dad!
North Cascades on the Skagit river you have: Kings, Silvers, Dogs and Humpies. AKA Chinook (Tyee), Coho, Chum and Pink. My preference is the Silvers, they fight and jump.
Well done you are a fantastic fisher filmmaker. I rate you up there with April Volkie high praise indeed. Keep true to yourself. I especially respect you leaving you're ego go. Unlike some TH-camrs whose massive ego's prevent them from learning from old pros and remain mediocre at best. Good in ya .
Every stock is a little different of course. This pecimen is a bit above average for this particular stock. That average size also varies from year to year depending on ocean productivity. Going back 20 years ago, a large one from this particular system was almost twice as big as that. In the past few cycles, the average is around 4 or 5lb.
Blowing up the river? I know where this spot is, there's never anyone down there really because of difficult access. Let me guess, they accessed it by boat?
That's wild that a guide would conduct themselves like that, especially with clients. If I was a customer and my guide started harassing and berating bank anglers I would 100% be leaving shit reviews, and name/shaming them on social media.
anyone talking about another person like that should have gone for a swim at the least. From what of it I heard about on Insta, he was advocating violence as well. So am I, I guess
It always bothered me about how they break down so fast and die like that after only a few years.. yes nature is nature but it is weird that side of the animal kingdom .. especially the smell omg i remember that very stinky the ones even when fresh in the great lakes from decades ago lol ( i tried them from new jersey and use to go to Pulaski ny) still enjoy fly fishing but catch and release almost every trout/salmon unless it's injured and not going to make it.
So what was the point of this comment. I went fishing where I live, made a video, and you have to come and attack me because you live in a completely different country and I don’t? Congrats, Alaska has bigger fish. Am I supposed to be jealous of you? Am I not allowed to enjoy where I live? We have bigger fish too, but this is a HATCHERY fish, and they never get as large as our wild ones.
@@TroyOttosen-jg7tt Do I really care? lol... You're the only one who's trying to compare when you probably haven't even been elsewhere. Enjoy your dark winter.

Wow. Nice silver bullet you caught there. And yup, that sounded like a real good connection on the bonk, too.

Phenomenal fishing. Forget them haters. Great content

How you describe your experience and your thought process is cool i like to observe how the river changes from season to season

I get excited catching a 14 inch rainbow on my fly rod, I can’t imagine catching a coho on the fly! Awesome video😎🎣
Awesome videos, and great narration!

Respect the fish - respect the animal. 👍👍
I'll subscribe to any channel that promotes that.
Don’t listen to the naysayers you are providing inspiration for people to learn the great sport of fly fishing! Thanks for another great video!
Is this considered a "B-Run" coho? I thought your river already had a spawning run of coho long before the chum showed
Yes, sorta like an encore run
@@davebeningfield we get them down here in Washington, was just curious if it was similar up there. B-Runs tend to be a lot bigger too
Very Nicely Done Linda :) Until some Old Man started singing! haha🤣

I'm sure she'll get a copyright strike from TH-cam about that.
@@davebeningfieldThat Song Probably ruined the next 4-5 years of fish returns in that system & the Elk Never to be seen again ! Thanks Alot!
@@miked.r.6671Haha, that's why she caught fish and I got nothing. The fish swam away from me across to her side of the river!
Beautiful I were my zombie salmon hoodie when I go in the fall
That’s a big coho ? That’s a average to small one around me 😅 crazy how that works nice catch

Canada and the US do not celebrate Thanksgiving on the same day.

nice fish but just because it's a hatchery fish doesn't mean it's going to be small

Us Alaskans are cracking up.😳😂🤪
So, do you not realize that every corner of the world has its own pros and cons, beauty and annoyance?
