A tip to public zeuses, you need to give the players something, anything, to do while you make the mission. Give them a go kart race track or a shooting range, something to goof off without them turning spawn into a murder fest.
Oh, shoot! Besides 150h of Zeus in single or multi with friend I didn't know of deep copy and save. It's fantastic!!! Thank you. This video is very clear and can calibrate you :D
very good and informative content. for chapter 6 - the show/hide module is also a great way of saving FPS if you want all of your units and objects to be pre-placed. great points about mission design and running the mission, too. this is often overlooked in these kinds of videos.
Now I see what you meant about the "More AI" before my OP. Courier did some real heavy lifting adding in the extra statics and having units between the OBJs. Now I just need to apply this and what I learnt from the first OP to the second OP...
I wanted to say as someone who has recently joined an Arma reforger milsim unit, this stuff is correct. Nothing is worse then having to spend 40 minutes in a defence op on one point and then not engaging anything for the entire time (yes this actually happened, I was in a defence op where I didn't shoot shit at my point) and I brought this up to the GM who did apologise for that, as while it made story sense, it didn't make it any fun. but my favourite op was one where the gm through a mixture of purpose delay tactics (inpromtu defence objective because we were too fast) and just, good objective ideas in general with interesting obstacles we had to avoid, it was a blast. (wanted to add we didn't know it was impromptu defence, the place we were defending had literally just been cleared and then turned into a FOB, so it made sense for the sudden attack to delay us)
I get your pain, Zeuses/GMs going for realism over going for what makes a fun op is one of the biggest signs of a bad operation (that's not to say there can't be room room in the middle for both realism and fun, but fun has to be prioritized at least imo) I'm glad your GM apologized though and hopefully will have learned not to do that again, because 40 minutes sitting at a defensive location doing nothing sounds like hell
This really made me think about the Zeusing I've been doing for the last many years, and I realize I've recently been upweighing realism over fun. Thanks for making this video ORyan, hoping I can make what I do for friends more fun now.

Ei great content. i am fairly new in my zeus skills for my community. and still on the said issues with new curators. this helps alot to organize my next set of mission.
Amazing video! Just got into Zeusing and this was exactly what I was looking for. I do have one question though, this is quite irrelvant, but how did you create the graphis of the units moving down the roads on the map(s) in this video?
Thanks! I'm glad the video helped, if you've got any other questions on Zeusing I'm happy to help :)! So for those graphics, I don't use Arma but my video editing software. I take a screenshot of the map, put it in the editing software, I have the icons as pngs, I place them above the map layer, and then I have them move on the timeline using the editing software etc It can be pretty time consuming, a 40 second segment (if it has a lot of Opfor units with the rifle animations etc) probably takes me between 1 to 2 hours to do (the ones in this video were pretty simple though)
@@TheMaxORyan Damn, didn't think it would be so time consuming! Thanks As for questions about Zeusing, are there any good videos on TH-cam that you know of that explain how to properly setup Zeus in the eden editor, to then use in a multi-player mission? First of all, great content!🎉 But I have a question, are u using mods to have those checkpoint structure? Because when I typed checkpoint in Zeus, I didn’t have those structure for me to place. Thanks
Kind of, there's a bunch of composition mods on the Workshop you can find that don't add any extra dependencies that I use extensively. There's also ZEC: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=642912021&searchtext=ZEC (client side mod) that adds a bunch of structures, super useful mod to have
bro i see people always talk about rcing units , i do your same style, just a scare tactic mainly, but other zeus i have had in ops they go all out to try to "win" the battle
C-I Ops rely much more on atmosphere then any other type of op, except Horror ops. Now inside of C-I ops it can cary wildly, depending on how milsim-y your group is/wants to be: On one extreme, I've heard of some groups that do "Patrol" objectives, where they won't shoot at anything for the entire operation (or will only have 1 or 2 firefights). On the other end, some units will have their C-I ops be pretty much like any other op, but just "insurgency themed". The main thing about C-I (in my opinion, and I have not Zeused a lot of them) is using less hostile AI than other types of ops, using IEDs (placing them on roads etc), heavily relying on ambushing your players (which is why maps like Clafghan work so well for those ops, the entire South of the map is prime ambush locations), and having all the objectives be "C-I" themed (ie: going to search for and destroy IED factories - raiding a possible insurgent weapons depot - distributing anti-insurgent propoganda flyers - etc). Insurgency objectives also generally have a heavy reliance on Civilian AI, you want a lot of civilians around (and some will end up being hiding insurgents, suicide bombers, whatever) to keep the players on edge. RP also has a bit role in these ops, interrogating captured enemies to find out where the camp is so that you can lead them to a big firefight in a secluded location is a peak C-I objective Hope this helps!
You can either use the Remote Controle Module, or use the keyboard shortcut of holding down CTRL and Left Clicking on the unit (that may be tied to Zeus Enhanced though)
@@Kai-ns5lv Your best bet would probably be to make most of the mission in the editor, & otherwise treat yourself like any other player (if you've alerted an objective, spawn a squad to be sent, etc). I've never really done that outside of testing stuff in my missions though, I'd just play antistasi if I wanted some SP time
