to those who want my advice, i'm sitting my exam too. 1. Don't stress - Quite ironic as I stress myself too but believe in yourself, once the exam is over you never have to think about English Literature ever again. 2. Memorize some paraphrases, sentence starters & extenders, even if you're stuck with your analysis you can extend your paragraph with these extenders. 3. Always attempt unseen poetry, regardless whether you understand it or not (the question already establishes the purpose of the poem). 4. Pre-write your introductions, this saves me time honestly. Obviously you actually aren't going to write the actual introduction for the question since you won't know the question, however ensure you make a structure that is suitable for anything you can write about. 5. Do not rely on predictions too much and obviously go through every poem whether it's in dept or just a bit a brief understanding of the poems is great. 6. ESSAY PLANS!! Pre-prepare some potential essay plans. 7. Ensure you know 3 quotes for each poem and characters/themes for your Modern Drama. 8. Practice writing some paragraphs too, this cools down your nerves and establishes you into the examination environment. 9. Read Grade 9 essays and analyse the areas where you can improve your essay in-order to obtain those top grades. - Good luck, you'll smash this.
thanks bro, good advice! Youll smash your gcses too bro, i believe in you!
Cheers mate, could you paste an introduction template that you would use? Because I don’t even know where to start
do you have any examples of extenders? like what would you say?
@@prishak9451 So in terms of extenders, it's always a top grade thing to do so you'll be like. Moreover, Duffy successfully establishes the corrupting theme of war through the metaphorical phrase of 'half-formed ghost' which depicts a graphic imagery of the after & psychological effects of being a war photographer. This could be a strategic notion utilized by Duffy to enhance the meaning of...
@@prishak9451 Just ensure you have more than one interpretation of a quote you embed. So for example "half-formed ghost" [analysis + explanation] then proceed to add your 2nd analysis. The noun 'ghost' could symbolize ominous and harrowing connotations.. Make sure, you use modal verbs like 'could' 'perhaps' etc.
the spatula made me smile :)
this video’s going to be trending again i can tell 😭
I’ll never too Mr Beast like the last one
im rly nervous especially bc i write super slow and im always stopping to think of what to write so i dont write utter bs
dont worry, you got this. just plan for a few minutes before you write, plan paragraphs , highlight reiterate the key word in the question, write a strong thesis, embed a lot of quotes and write bout what the writer wanted to achieve and context of the time! you got this!
@@JERIMIAH0ZENDIAH-db3gy thanks! im only aiming for a 4 but ill try my best
It's ok! I always favoured quality over quantity as well and it worked out for me fine in the mocks. As long as you include everything (A02, A03 etc) from different parts if the poem/ play you can get really high grades!
@@nikolaeva07 same here but i want a 5
once you hit a level in the mark scheme im pretty sure you cant go back down, you can write a brilliant paragraph and then one that isn’t as good or well thought out while youre thinking of your next good paragraph if you’re worried about not writing enough

I did really badly in Paper 1, not understanding the Jekyll and Hyde question. I felt like I was going to fail this paper too, until I watched this. Now I feel like I actually have a chance.
Thank you so much Mr Salles your predictions were amazing and helpful! I compared Kamikaze to the Emigree and talked about conflict of identity, war and childhood innocence, do you think that works? :)
Sure does
Hi sir, I've been watching your video on Sheila for An Inspector Calls. Thank you for them, they have been such a great help. But I have a question, I've never even considered that Sheila would continue her engagement to Gerald after the ending of the play. Could she not completely uproot her life and be a worker like Eva instead? And if she does behave like 'we are all members of one body', that would make a difference. It wouldn't be just for nothing. She could influence the other women around her to do the same, not the upper-class ones who wouldn't risk abandoning their positions but the lower-class ones. Then the effort wouldn't be meaningless.
Obviously, she could do all of those things, I just don’t believe the play lead us to think that she does. You also have to explain the second phone call.
I'm going to write a book called, 'Anne in Spectacles,' now. I'll give you a mention on the first page and you can also be invited to the premiere for the movie, which you'll get 10% of the profits for. Fair? Is that a deal?
It is the sequel to Annie, when she gets glasses as a teenager
This guy's incredible
