I came across your video post. I very, very rarely post an opinion on the web but, in your case, *don’t despair.* Academic results are not *the end* of the road, they are just *a* road. There are different routes you can choose. The route you take has more to do with your motivation, interest, patience and vision. If you don’t consider yourself academic then look at apprenticeships in your favoured career areas. But, maybe, at this stage, there are three key areas to focus on - the first two are that you should endeavour to improve your skills in Social Arithmetic (a subset of maths) and Social Communication (a subset of English) - which will help you in later stages of life - and thirdly - finding your passion? Be realistic in your expectations with your current levels of knowledge and skill. We can’t all be superstars, TH-cam or otherwise, but we can all succeed in our way. Investigate what *experiences* (not necessarily academic) you need to progress your passion as a career. You’ve asked for content ideas for your channel. You’ve mentioned you are autistic. So this is an aspect of your personality that is you. I don’t know how autism affects your experiences in life. I know very little about the condition. So, perhaps, this could be a topic of your channel. *You have a story to tell - how my autism affects my daily life experiences*: learning, working, socialising, employment opportunities, support services you receive, the discrimination you may experience due to lack of understanding. A topic that will last for a lifetime - so endless opportunities to create content. You’ll need to teach yourself how to structure your ten-minute videos so they a less random and more focused - use the story-board techniques used by gaming developers, and film and television producers - Google it. You have access to computers at school, the public library, and even your mobile telephone. Everyone has a story to tell but a good story starts in its planning. You could start with a short title, structure your story with an introduction, highlight a key point or two, and conclude whether good, bad or hopeful - all conveyed within 10 minutes. But that might take more than 10 minutes to plan! (Ask your English teachers to help you with structuring your content or message.) You could start with “Autism and Me”: explaining to your audience- what is autism in general, what is your autism, and how was it diagnosed - what tests were performed, what types of tests, whether there is a standard test - and conclude if it is a spectrum. Then you could explore how autism affects you and your family “My Family and My Autism” How do you, your family and your friends cope in a variety of situations (e.g., shopping, household chores/routines/non-routines, social gatherings), how do they help you, and how do you help them understand, then conclude how to bridge the gap. You could follow this up with “Educating Autistic Me” What are your learning experiences and frustrations, how and whether your learning needs are being met; then conclude can the gap be bridged using state vs voluntary support services and do these exist? There is so much you could gain from the experience of putting together such content that can demonstrate abilities and skills you do not realise you have and which can be a substitute for or replace qualifications. Planning, research, scripting, editing, sound, lighting, producing and interviewing are just some of the skill areas you could develop. And - you’ve already started to use these skill sets. Amazing!

this is a kind of nice refresher from the other 10 or so other gcse results videos where everybody is just getting 9s everywhere. obviously not saying Us 1s and 2s are alright but it obviously feels better seeing somebody with results that don’t reflect being ‘perfect’. nobody’s gonna be a star and that’s ok. o7 it’s been a year since the video has been uploaded and i hope you’re doing well wherever you’ve decided to go after
I got 6 9s an 8 and 2 7s with very little work (comparatively), which led me to be very overconfident and I made some stupid decisions since then. I’ve just retaken my first year of a levels and I’m now a year behind. GCSE’s aren’t gonna define your life and don’t let them stop you doing the best you can do and don’t underestimate yourself, you’re value isn’t based on whatever is on your gcse certificate. The one thing I will say is that getting the basics of maths and English down might be a requirement for some basic jobs so If you want help with any of the gcse stuff so you can retake, lmk and I’ll help. Good luck bro
i mean, coming from someone who did shit in AS, GCSE's dont matter at all, but it says more about ur lack of effort and mentality that really doesnt sit right with a lot of ppl. people dont look down on you if you failed, people look down on you if you failed because you didnt put any effort in or try in any capacity. this should be something u take forward with you and use to shape urself into a better person.
GCSEs can’t be used as a proper metric to measure effort, the papers aren’t really consistent and change year to year. Sometimes people just understand things and don’t understand others, it’s mostly luck based what comes up on the papers. I never revised and put in no effort and still did well just because I was lucky with what came up. I did A levels and passed those, not as well as my GCSEs but I still passed with little to no effort on my end. Our education system puts your social status and how you’re initially perceived by employers in the hands of luck. It’s very flawed. Hell I’ve seen people revise themselves into an early grave and still barely scrape by. It’s just a whole lot of luck😊

Really sorry about your grades. I hope you’re feeling better after a year. I can tell you for a fact that your GCSE results do not determine your life trajectory. Plenty of people I know are doing well without them. I rarely have ever experienced job interviews where they ask for your GCSE grades. A little trick is that employers will rarely ever verify your grades so you can just fib a little and you can get away with it. GCSEs rarely matter to employers and only matter more if you’re going into further education. I can tell you that what employers look for is experience and GCSE’s do not really enhance that, it’s by volunteering or if you’re lucky finding jobs to enhance said experience.

Dude it’s okay don’t beat yourself up about it I know many people even in year 12 that failed all their igcses and they are doing just fine at A level. The whole system in fact is kind of bulshit and stressful for even top level students they buckle and fail some of them because of the stress
Hey man, I’ve got my results day in August and all I’m hoping for is that I’ve passed all of them, even if it’s the lowest possible pass, which would be a 4-. From my experience so far with looking at colleges, apprenticeships etc., with the grades you got, a university would just laugh at you plain and simply, and you very likely won’t ever get into college, but apprenticeships are on the table, and if you look hard enough there is always going to be some with good money that accept students who got shit GCSE results. And after you’re 18, there will always be that diamond in the rough job somewhere out there that’ll take you, with good pay, good hours and low standards (no offence). But genuinely, good luck for the rest of your life, I know how doing GCSEs feels, so I’m right there with you

But I put in the work and by God's grace I got to set 1 within 1 year, I was tested to write early igcse maths and I got A*'s in my mocks and I wrote this years m/j series and I'm still in year 10. Right now we've started AS maths (I am still in year 10 keep in mind) and we're working our way quickly through the syllabus. What I'm trying to say is there are so many reasons why someone could have failed their GCSE's but that doesn't mean they have no future. There's no one that's failing right now that wouldn't be passing if they didn't discipline themselves, following a study regimen.
Hey bro, well done for doing your best! however I want to encourage you to repeat your core subjects and pass them all (grade 4 and over or C) because some jobs will request for your education qualifications especially for English and Maths, to show your competency. You never know when you need them. I did my GCSE's in 2017. Right now I'm pursing a career in education for stability and I have to go to uni and I am so glad that my younger self did her best to pass because I remember having that attitude of "GCSE's don't matter in life, I don't need it, I'll never use maths like this." even though my teachers pushed me to aim higher because they knew I was capable, all I cared about was passing. The subjects I was good at I did naturally well but the subjects I didn't care about I could've done better even though I passed. Now I am going through training that I didn't even know I would end up taking this road and they are requesting for my GCSE'S. Yes you can still make your way in life around it but it'll be much harder and you'll have to really sweet-talk your way into certain positions and be a strong worker. So do it for your future adult self otherwise you'll find yourself having to sit GCSE maths and English at age 21. I can tell that you're a really smart guy, I know you will be successful in social media and you don't have to pursue college or university but try and pass all your GCSE's ❤ God bless you in Jesus name.
A lot of famous people don't have qualifications or an educational background you know? this proves you can achieve anything if you work hard enough for it, although this won't come instantly it's a gradual process :) -- And there's so many options out there in terms of jobs and of course re-sitting. Nevertheless you will still succeed! Don't let your grades define you!
I personally hate England introducing the numbers, it really degrades everything. 8 could be an A* but you don’t know if you got that or a high A, so it just complicates shit and leaves people guessing what actual grade they got. As someone who has autism and ADHD it was really difficult for me to cope with GCSES, the only one I failed was science, I got a 3-2, my highest was a 7 which was English literature and a D2 in health and social care. I also passed English language and Maths (Higher with a 5), so that’s cool right? Well? Not technically… unfortunately I was scared after my GCSEs since I felt like jobs you need more pratical skills than academic. The issue that I did was… I didn’t go for my passions, which was to do with creativity and design. I didn’t have I can do attitude since I found stuff hard but yet didn’t attempt or improve overtime. This just impacted me… it’s like my attention span, time management was all over the place. The issue with exam system is they think everyone is the same, we learn the same way, they only care about your grades than mental health. Excuse me? Another issue I have is GCSEs force you to do a range of subjects, but they don’t let you have a passion for a certain career path you want. Mate I did absolutely fine, i now have a job that’s pays my way, and am taking further education in my field. These results did not define me, but did make the path harder. You’ve got to persevere and work hard from this point. I chose to fuck around, Drink, Smoke, Drugs and overall be a shitty student in school. I had to pay a small price for all of this. It meant success came harder to find. But it was not the end.
It’s not the end bro. If I was you, get any apprenticeship you can and earn that money. Tbh you could be making more money than many who get 9’s. No joke

(Ask your English teachers to help you with structuring your content or message.)
You could start with “Autism and Me”: explaining to your audience- what is autism in general, what is your autism, and how was it diagnosed - what tests were performed, what types of tests, whether there is a standard test - and conclude if it is a spectrum.
Amazing!

GCSE’s matter what are you on about
@@Anwer-bj5fc for what exactly?

Unfortunately aqa does computer science in NI so for my GCSE’s and now my a levels this summer, I have numbers mixed in with the letters. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
yeah that gives some hope thanks man seeing you in college
Bro ur gonna ace those a levels with this motivation
you make me feel great about my gcses
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You make me think GCSE’s are even more worthless than they already are 😂
Got my results today and I got 6 in science and history 4 in maths and English and 5 in RE but got a 3 in geography lol I done pretty good tbh but I can still go to sixth form Alhamdullilah
@@mahrezdagoat88282 good stuff bro
brotha me and my asian homies, we average 7s and 8s but that's cuz we either do stuff we like or we're just nerds, or we're just early bloomers.
your life is like a flower, when you find something you love, you'll bloom but in order to find it, you'll go through a lot but that's just part of it.
i suffered ages in primary getting yelled at by teachers for my strong ADHD disorders, but then when i bloomed it was all easy.
(tbh i don't have 344 subs, in other words, 344 people who support me in my stuff. Think about what you have, not what you don't have)
Well done bro and I have the exams are done now and I’ve got English and maths up to 4’s I’m okay bro well done mate
@@aaronmoefoebtw I’ve never ever thought of this in my life but I don’t revise anywhere near as much as my other friends who revise like 2-3 hours daily and still get pretty good grades. Except English Lit ain’t lit but shit
@@aaronmoefoeother than that I feel like I’m yapping too much but I’d like to conclude, hearing someone who relates to this pain of not meeting your expectations is incredibly comforting. I feel like there is no limit to hope and I’m glad to know we haven’t given up. We can push each other to our limits alright? Other than that keep working on TH-cam, something about this video gives an insane vibe you got some chance in here. Keep that in mind
this is a good motivation for me
As someone who has autism and ADHD it was really difficult for me to cope with GCSES, the only one I failed was science, I got a 3-2, my highest was a 7 which was English literature and a D2 in health and social care. So my advice is if you fail don’t give up, your not a failure if anyone is toxic to you haters be haters, nicers be nicers right.
Btw I did GCSES back in 2023 just last year, terrible experience overall 😢. A sheet of paper just doesn’t teach you anything it only relies on memory than knowledge, I mean come on I would learn from a video game more than some sheet of paper smh 🤦
At least I know somebody who failed English. Wish me luck that I can pass them 2 GCSE's
Just out of curiosity, did you try at all?
Yes??? tf
@@aaronmoefoe I don't see how that question is in any way surprising or the answer obvious. For a 1, you'd likely have to write a sentence or two. Evidently that isn't trying but I was merely curious as to whether the process had been difficult for you around revision time.
@@wistfulwriterthingy12 or maybe it’s cos I’m autistic mate yeh I might’ve failed everything but that’s not because I just couldn’t be arsed I did try I’m just not good at focusing
