Just purchased a Daiken Fit 5 ton unit furnace and air handler yesterday. Your explanation of the maintenance side of the thermostat was OUTSTANDING! I always like to know a little about the installer settings of the system. You were fantastic. In Oklahoma City temp is 105 today and system doesn't look like it wants to keep up. Spent $17500 on all new Daiken Fit ac , furnace and air handler.

How did your contractor go about sizing your system? I don’t mean to sound negative, but I’ve heard that 5-ton is rarely the right answer. If you really need that much heating and cooling you’re likely better served by two smaller systems. Then again, 105 is really hot!

Thank you for this thorough explanation. I'm based in South Florida and just had a new 5 ton Fit system installed a few days ago. I realized that the temp readout on the One Touch was off as we were not comfortable and used 2 source temp/humidity gages I purchased online to verify. The system wasn't cooling as low as we desired and the tech showed how he was compensating for this delta using his gage. Unfortunately, there was a lag in his reading and not certain if the offsets were exactly correct. I reset the calibration based on an average of 8-10 readings on both gages ( +1 F and and -3%RH) and the One Touch over a 24 hr period. On average, the Daikin read 75 deg F and 53.6% RH. The 2 independent gages read 76.1 and 77 deg F, and RH of 48.3% and 49.9%. My question is: I did not waiting 30 mins as you stated in your video before adjusting the offsets. Would that cause any issues?

I don't know if he'll reply, but I've had the one plus for a good year. It took several adjustments and dealer visits to get it working right. I'm in Florida too. If you don't wait 30 mins the thermostat may read wrong. I've run into that. I want to upgrade to the one touch thermostat, but I'm scared to lol

Hello I really appreciate your thorough explanation of this thermostat.
I recently bought a heat pump with the newest thermostat, and many of these features that you have shown or not on the new one. Theres a lot less options and it’s a little frustrating.
There are no new videos on this new smart, one thermostat from Daikin. Maybe you could upload one?
    Thank you

I agree with the others that this is a great and informative video and that it is very hard to find information regarding the dealer settings on this unit. It seems like most dealers just leave it how it comes.
I installed two new Daikin fits in my home, one on each floor, and have some questions. Overall they are running well but I have the humidity set at a 40 to 55 target and sometimes they’re hovering in the high 50s.
I have not messed with any of the trims under the cooling section. The cooling profile is set on D, which I think is the one that best lets the inverter use all of the variable speed ability. The dehumidification is set to on and standard. I noticed there is an A, B, and C as well. Should I choose one of those for better dehumidification? If so, which? Setting A looks like a gives the most range. Will these affect the longevity of the unit or it’s electric energy efficiency?
I also have not used the over cool to dehumidify function. With that on, once it reaches the temperature setpoint, but not the humidity setpoint, does it just keep cooling normally or does it change somehow to do more dehumidification without making it that much colder. What I’m concerned about with this function is that it will get too cold in the house while trying to reach the humidity level.
Also, how does the setting where you tell the unit the square feet of the house affect anything? I have two units, one on each floor. Do I put the total house square footage on both units or the square footage of each floor on its respective unit?
Again, thanks for all your help. I’m hoping you can answer some of these questions. I do like the system, and it’s cooling the house very well, but I would like to figure out how to lower the humidity while still enjoying better energy efficiency than my old unit.
    Thanks!

Fantastic video! Thank you so much for posting this and your other videos. Struggling with getting my Daikin One dailed in. It is hotter than the sun here in the Tampa area. I have a 3-ton unit in a 1278sqft home. Current settings are -5 on cooling high trim and +5 on cooling low trim. Dehumidification is set to "standard" and cool profile is set to "D". The house is still humid and warm. During the day we keep it set to 76 but the house is usally hovering around 78 with 58-62% humidity. Is there any other setting(s) I should change or adjust? I appreciate any insight. Local techs are little to no help.

Great Video first one that showed the detailed options behind the menus...Coming form a Eco Bee this thermostat is not very easy unit to program even for an engineer...The Daikin One Fit, I am running has been a blessing compared to the TRANE TRASH here in Central Florida Sun...
The things that are still a mystery are the Dehumidification settings suggestions .. Seems to be 5 choices
no dehumidification and Standard dehumidification and then A B C profiles..
No clue what they do in terms of system operation, no place in literature left behind does it explain impact of each setting. I read the line verbiage of each option on thermostat menu... Right now the unit is running profile D on COOLING and Installer enabled profile C on dehumidification no idea why? that what he was told? I think the unit is smarter than some of these techs...any suggestions where I can find guidelines be appreciated...l
These units are far the best on the market I just wish they are a bit more technology friendly in terms of programing...

Do you have any knowledge about code B3 air handler "blower is operating in a power, temperature, or speed limiting condition" It happens on cold mornings below 30f when coming out of "quiet mode" from the previous night. The whole unit shuts down and reboots once or twice then is fine until the next cold night. Our local Daikin dealer is clueless on what to do.

How did you wire the Aux heat to the thermostat? The instructions talk about 24V AC signal must be routed through one of the aux contacts of the thermostat and the use of a SPST relay. I'm confused.

Hello, I have a Daiken 4 Ton DX17vss481ba outside and a DV48fecd14 inside (installed 9/2023. The evap coil started dripping water to the floor under the unit. I have had techs out, the coil is clean, the charge is correct but i have high static pressure due to old metal duct work in my home. Never an issue with conventual AC's in the past however with the constant ramping up and down of the inverter technology this has begun. Temp at the top of the air handler (measured at the base of the ductwork exiting the cabinet is 56 degrees). All ducts in the home are open...curious how you would program the thermostat to prevent the drip that occurs I believe at lower fan speeds. I would prefer not to have to replace all of the ductwork in this 1955 home :). Unfortunately not many techs are experts w these systems. Thank you!

I have a question. I had my system put in. It is gas furnace and I have a 2 ton AC.
The problem is since the dealer installed the unit the AC runs 24/7 unless I pull the outside fuses. Which I did during the winter.
I have to leave the thermostat on heat during the summer months or the AC will freeze me out.
If I set it to cool, It never shuts off.
Is there anything I can look for? I had this system put in 2 years ago and the dealer hasn't been able to figure it out. They tried replacing the thermostat, But it still does it.
I have no problems trouble shooting my system as I have worked with trouble shooting PLC's and other equipment and repairing for my work.
I'm at my wits end. I don't want to have to buy another brand unit.
I have the books for installing the units but have no clue what to look for on this one.
    Thanks.

I purchased a Daikin Fit heat pump and air handler in July 2024. I live in the Southeast and 2 story home with zoning. Ive had nothing but trouble with this system from Day one. 1) It says it has hit the set temp but really the room temp is totally different. 2) Crazy anount of humidity in my home during the summer. 3) System is loud inside. 4) Takes forever to go down in temperature over the summer. 5) Recently in the winter downstairs is cold and upstairs is hot. 6) Getting B3 error message. 7) Thermostats are super sensitive. Temp goes up just by standing in front of it. The hvac dealer cant get it working properly after attempting recalibration multiple times, changing thermostats, adding a bypass duct, and so much more in attempts to fix it. I now plan to remove this horrible system from my home and purchase a different brand from a different company. In the meantime I've watched this video and it has helped so much. Thank you.
P.S. Yes I know my situation may not the norm. I experienced a bad install, bad system or both.

      @hvaciswin723  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

The pressure of air inside your ductwork sounds like it way to high. I would recommend finding a contractor that could test duct static pressure. Daikin says total system static should be less than .5 a good contractor should know what that is and how to check it. High duct static will cause poor performance, high humidity in the summer and B3 codes. Being on a zone system the balancing of the bypass damper is very important.

Hi, can you please help me? My Daikin heat pump blows really dry air. It was blowing perfectly humidified air when they first installed it, but it stopped working when we had a power outage. The installers came and fixed it, they said they had made a mistake during install and that's why it stopped working after the power outage. The problem now is that since then it blows really dry air. The air quality was amazing in the beginning, now I have to keep the thermostat down and be cold bc the dry air is horrible. The installers are really bad. They keep telling me they'll come but they don't show up. Daikin support tells me I need to contact the installers. I'm desperate. Please help

HELP PLEASE - I am another Tampa, Florida Daikin One homeowner. I paid more money to buy this inverter, variable speed HVAC unit and the installers can't get the humidity down to an acceptable level.
Today they actually came out and said they adjusted it and on the display, the number was down...but as the day wore on, I could feel the humidity just as much as before. When i went into the settings, the had adjusted the calibration so that it appeared that the humidity level went down. So they obviously think it's all in my head. However when searching on the internet I found that folks living in Central Florida have all complained about the humidity level that the Daikin just can't seem to handle.
I'm worried that I paid a huge amount of money now for a system that isn't appropriate for Florida's climate. If you have any suggestions of ways to tweak the settings I'm very familiar with how to program this thermostat now. After spending a lot of time searching for help online I ran across your video and it's the first one that gave me some guidance on settings. I really don't think my installers understand and know what to do with the thermostat. They obviously don't know how to tweak the settings appropriately if what they did today was just make it look like the humidity went down! That's very insulting. I guess because I'm an older woman they think I don't know anything and I can run circles around them when it comes to technology!
Any settings you could suggest would be immensely appreciated!!!
