    An Egyptian veterinary student here, I hope Dr Mcnamra sees this. I'm writing a research about your discovery and how it changed the perception of people to veterinary medicine. Thank you. This talk was interesting and fun to watch.

    Thanks so much Alan. I truly believe public- private partnerships are the way forward. Empower the people who care about animals and have hands and eyes on them every day, give us the what we need to create real time veterinary epidemiological surveillance and we can help keep the public safe.

    What a brilliant woman! This talk should be making the rounds for sure. I remember reading an article that we pretty much could have avoided this last year had we listened more to what people were saying about some nasties that were found in some animals but not enough action was taken.

      Thanks John! One Health is a necessary and common sense approach to zoonotic threats but we have yet to implement it in the USA.

    Michael - I am sorry you think my talk was not factual. It is. Given that we now have dogs, cats, zoo animals and captive and free-ranging mink with COVID-19, the points I made about the continued lack of species neutral biosurveillance in the USA have certainly been validated.

      Thank you so much! I gave this talk in 2018 and now we have COVID-19 in dogs, cats, lions, tigers, snow leopards, mink and who knows what else. Species neutral biosurveillance and a One Health approach must be implemented for the good of all!

    Wonderful examples of how to critically think. One would think that the Justice system would think the same way. The fact that the population is not sustaining anymore is a huge canary in the coal mine for our justice system.

    As Tracey says, we must start making ourselves aware of what is being passed in our governments, we must start fighting for more funding, better research, sustainability! All of it. I can't even imagine the frustrating that this wonderful human would have to feel. I want to help.
