Thank you very much, I love flan but didn't know how to do it in a healthy way. But I'd like to clarify that this is not a Mexican dessert per se, it goes way behind, it was created by the Roman's and Greeks but the version that we have today was spread throughout many countries, especially Latin America. For example, I live in DR and for us this is a typical dessert, so much that it can be easily found in any bakery. I really appreciate your efforts though.
I made this and it was so good! I first used monkfruit but couldnt get it to brown. I used sugar free maple syrup instead and it still tasted amazing!❤️
I just made it last night, soo delicious! I only had 1 c of coconut cream so I added 1/2 c. Heavy cream to compensate for the rest. Also added cinnamon and 3 huevito yolks cause I like it super rich. Reminds me of childhood!!

With allulose, it dissolves instantly. No need to get powdered or any of that. It dissolves in cold or hot or whatever temp, beautifully.

She mentions the oven temp to be at 325 degrees on the video but the written recipe states 350 degrees. I baked this already and found out that the correct temp is 350 degrees. I put at 325 and nope the flan was too jiggly. 350 is the right temp to bake the flan.
I've never made one so going to give this a try. It looks fabulous and I'm a caramel junkie. One question. Is allulose for the topping confectioners or ground?
Someone said it dissolves instantly in whatever form so either is fine

I've read that some choczero items will spike your blood sugar. Be careful!

No disrespect because I love Mayra but sometimes I notice that the recipes vary from the video. For someone thats trying to follow exact instructions, there is too much gray area. Video says 2" of water, recipe says 1" and receipe says sweetener for flan but she says powdered allulose. It's almost like there is someone else writing recipes. For something like this, it needs to be "exact" and also for someone who has never made it before, it would be confusing. Just suggestions. Can't wait to make this!!

Hello Low Carb Lover. That looks delicious. If you're planning on serving fried chicken at any time over the Fourth of July weekend, in addition to you that 2 carb flan cake, try dredging the chicken in liquid Ranch dressing and Panko. It still has the wholesome comforting flavor of regular buttermilk fried chicken, but with a a little extra zing. Pressure cook if possible. And don't forget, just about any liquid salad dressing can double as a topper for baked potatoes. By using salad dressing for both salad and as a potato topper, you'll be doing your part to avoid wasting food.

Hello, I’m new keto and I love watching you with your great recipes! I haven’t tried baking yet with any of the sweetness. Is there a reason you don’t use Stevia for baking since it doesn’t have any carbs instead of the one you use that has carbs? Thank you!

My stevia has 3 carbs per tbs. It is stevia/erythritol so maybe that’s why.

In the water bath it takes hours, I do it in a pressure cooker , takes just 5 minutes
How long for a NPR? Mine would probably be a little thicker, as I would use a 7" pan in my pressure cooker, rather than a 9" pan.

The first time I made a keto flan I made the caramel with allulose but it was not sweet at all. It came out amazing, but not sweet which basically left a deep wanting for that sweet touch. I love how allulose works, but it seriously lacks sweetness.
In Brazil, flan is called "pudim" 😋

I made flan many years ago & took my attention off the caramel sauce-it made this backdraft noise that really scared me. I threw it into the snowy yard & have never tried again.

Either one works fine, but I actually used coconut milk.
Myra, how is it 1.8 carbs? The allulose you use states 4 carbs per tsp (total 4g 0 dietary fiber and 0 total sugars) and you use over one cup in the recipe. That alone is over 200 carbs for the entire pie plate. So I don’t understand where you get 1.8 net??? Probably not understanding the sugars listed…
