Godox V1
I had so much fun with the new toy in Melb last week. Godox V1 totally transforms my way of shooting to be a much relax and fast pace. The even and soft light quality allows me pretty much shoot straight away with minimum accessories. It's a light yet very powerful combination with Sony eye focus black magic which releases me from the technical side, so that I now can focus on communication and emotion more than ever.

Great video and demo for the V1. The most impressive was the handheld sunny light effect on a cloudy day , and the night while the model was holding the umbrella, and the night shots with the on camera flash.

Amazing Godox which I have, but mainly, amazing photographer and model. All day long on the high heels and she was beautiful and smiling as in the beginning of the shooting. Hey Aries! I’ve been searching TH-cam trying to find an actual review that matters of the V1. A review of someone using the camera and not just pictures of a wall to show diffusion. This video was excellent. You showed me everything I needed. I’m most excited about using the modeling lamp.
canons can only do the AF assist beam on one shot which doesn’t work when the subject is moving so seeing a modeling lamp I can use at a wedding is a game changer! Looking forward to more videos from you
Thank you! I found flash is a bit unnatural for the night shoot. The continuous modelling lamp is a way easier to manage.

Hi Aries, an information please: to get the flash into the S-type bracket, is enough to only remove the rubber pad of the locking mechanism?
Yes. I removed the top pad. and replace with a thinner cardboard.

Hi Aries, fabulous work. Just one question, 4.19 minutes into the video there is some sort of fitting that is attached to the umbrella that holds the V1. Can you please tell me what that fitting is and who supplies it. Thanks Jen
Hi Jennifer, simple. I just take out the top pad of the S-type bracket, and then replace it with thinner cardboard
Does it have an infared focus assist beam or just LED modeling/video light?
Yes there is a infrared focus assist beam, I turn it off out of personal preference.
Are you just using your on-camera V1 as a trigger here since it's facing up to the sky during the day?
He is using dome attachment so the light spreads in all directions.

Which did you use AW or Manual White balance for those situations?
Hi mate, I use awb for day as Sony is pretty accurate. I use manual wb for night shot at 3200k

job ony you can to make some modification to fit it on godox s-type ring to use bowen mount softbox.

Elliot Blitzer I have never used the rotolight mate so I wouldn't be able to answer that.

Hey Aries. Awesome work. Can you please tell us in detail how you got the Bowens mount to fit V1. I am looking at my Bowens mount right now and I am clueless what to do.
bauljgd hi, I modified the godox s-type bracket to for the v1. The bracket comes with bowen mount
Thanks for the quick reply. But how did you do it? What exactly did you change? Can you show us a close up of the changed mount? I can send you my email and i would so appreciate if you could take a minute and send me a picture. You should make a video on that. It will be a big hit as so many of us have this problem.
bauljgd I am currently travelling so I don't have the bracket with me. You just need to take out the top rubber and replace with something thinner. Pretty straight forward.
