I think it’s altogether possible, to hold your own child accountable for what they’ve done, especially when so heinous as this, and in front of her own child. However, to me, this mother’s posture, shows that she is broken by her daughters actions, and the only way she’s can cope, is by emotionally detaching from her. She could agree with, and understand the life-sentence, out of regard for the life that was taken, and for it being done in front of a child, but she’s displaying a degree of dissociation. Is this new, or part of a pattern, over her daughters troubled life?

    • @AO-Love

I'm just saying that Chris' parents had NO right to say that they forgave him in court right in front of Shannan's family watching. If, on the other hand, she raised a sociopath due to raising the daughter in an extremely neglectful and/or abusive early childhood environment (especially she's 0-3years old) , then she herself is partially responsible and has no business speaking out. Y’all be judging people like y’all are perfect and I wonder how much that rings true…Was she in therapy as a child? Did the mother attend parenting classes and heal herself as she raised her child? I think we all know that children and their actions are a product of their biology and environment ALWAYS. It almost never occurs that someone with genuinely emotionally intelligent and healthy parents will turn out bad unless they spontaneously have a mental health condition that the family doesn’t have (and the family usually does somewhere along the line). I think there’s a lot more to this than what you all are commenting. I’m not saying anybody is more wrong than another but nobody and I mean nobody has room to speak on this and cast judgment on mother or on child. It’s unfortunate when circumstances and the culture behind child rearing lead to unpleasant outcomes. I just don’t appreciate how you all assume the family of this person are saints and this person is just so evil and deplorable.

The mother is rightfully angry, that's all.
If there is anything heartbreaking in this, is how the poor mother of the victim is feeling after losing her son, and the little child who lost their father.
