    Honest thoughts! That can be hard to come by on TH-cam.

    If you are struggling with low RPM power put it in Expor mode with Rally Throttle. Then you better hang on. You were probably riding in "Off Road" mode which is a slower throttle delivery to keep you from Whisky throttling. With 105 hp there is a balance to be found in order to keep off-road traction. And those stock tires are not good for this at all. As far as the Akrapovic exhaust, sadly it is California compliant, which means you are getting no performance benefits over stock. Just a different note and perhaps some weight savings.

      I found the factory tire selection to be pretty decent in my personal opinion. I think that is definitely a topic to be debated mainly as a result of rider preference though. As I stated in my review, yeah trying some of the other modes would be my next plan for riding the Norden. I believe I believe I was in off road mode, hence why I stated the benefit of the poor low end performance of not losing traction to the rear wheel. Thanks for the recommendation of trying the other mode!

    Nice nice video
    I'm realy not shure 'bout the big box on the back though. I used a similar setup last week in the UK on TET trails, on my Triumph Tiger 900, and the big box took me from left to right without myself on it. Crashed a few times because of the weight (feels like a small pillion)

      Hey Triskel,
      Hope you are alright from your dirt nap! I think generally speaking, we have to make sacrifices in bike handling for whenever we increase the load were carrying. I think this applies to panniers, storage bins, passengers, etc... Have you tried a Tank bag instead of the touring case? They typically are smaller but it places the weight of what you're carrying in a better location to displace the weight.

    The sound is very good. What exhaust is it?

    So far I love mine except for it is a little tall and I'm 6 ft 3 with 35 inch inseam and it's still a stretch other than that I really enjoyed the bike so far

    Great video and review. I'm coming from an Africa Twin and will definitely miss the low-end grunt on that bike. Throwing this out for any Norden owners...how have you addressed the flat spots in power delivery/torque in lower revs?

    • @madjack_757
      @madjack_757  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its funny you mention the Africa Twin! I am going to be doing a review sometime in the future on that bike and the low end power was my favorite thing about it. Hell, the whole power curve was fantastic on that bike. It was powerful AND predictable which makes controlling it a breeze. I'll save the rest of my thoughts on that bike for the full review tho. The first thing I would probably do is start looking for some kind of mid pipe to eliminate the catalytic converter. Slip on pipes are a fantastic way to change the performance on a bike with the exception of bikes that have catalytic converter. Usually, on smaller dual sports, the muffler is the main thing restricting exhaust flow and thats why aftermarket pipes help so much. Whereas on a bigger bike, the catalytic converter is likely the main restriction. Thanks for the comment!

      I was just practicing slow Maneuvers tonight with my 901 and it's totally different than the Tiger Xc it does have flat spots in the low-end you kind of have to modulate through it with a clutch the tiger seem smoother down there even though it doesn't have as much torque but anything new you have to adapt to it definitely a huge difference when you're standing up and riding letting off the throttle that 2-cylinder or throw you over the handlebars if you don't have your balance in the proper position you don't have that much engine braking on a tiger not complaining just learning

      I haven't noticed flat spots in the low end. But I do notice that first gear seems a little high for things like turning around on a narrow road or path and loading the bike on a trailer. Perhaps that is what you are referring to. I've only had my Expedition since early June, but I keep feeling I'd like a few more teeth on my rear sprocket. I'm holding myself to spending more time with the bike as-is before making any changes, perhaps next spring. Aside from that one issue, this is the best bike I've ever had the pleasure of riding, and still experience that "blown away", "pinch myself" feeling every time I head out.

    I had the 2023 890r. I sold it because after a few thousand miles the bike sounded broken. To the point it was embarrassing to start it infront of other bikers. Also the wind buffeting from the screen was unbearable. Then there was the immobiliser antenna fault that would stop the bike from starting. Randomly. I wouldn’t trust it for serious adventures (expeditions).

      Wow! Thats really scary to hear considering the 890R has become almost like the modern standard for a serious expedition bike.. Good information to have though! Thanks for spreading the word 🤙🏼

      @@madjack_757 if the engine was smoother and it had less tech it would be perfect. For now though I’ve bought a T7 Extreme.
