You left out the American Eskimo. They actually originated in Germany and were several colors but now are white with some occasional cream though the cream variation is not preferred. They come in 3 sizes: standard (about 25 pounds), miniature and toy. The Japanese Spitz closely resembles them but Eskies are a much older breed. Because of their beauty and intelligence they were preferred circus act dogs in the late 19th century. Their origins don’t really have any connections to either America or Eskimos. Their name was changed about the time of WWI because there was so much bad feeling in the USA about anything German. They are long lived and lively and have a tendency to spin around when they are excited. My toy Eskie Shilo lived to be almost 20.

American Eskimo dog IS the German spitz but the name was changed by duhmerica during ww2 after they made an appearance there.
