I loved my day in Rotterdam when visiting the Netherlands 🇳🇱 from the UK 🇬🇧. It’s similar to London, hustle and bustle fast paced life. I love it. I see myself residing there for some time. The cost of living is just the same as London also separated neighbourhoods. Plus learning Dutch would be interesting.
I am from this town and can totally understand for an 'outsider' how it must be...thanks for your honest observations...still hope you feel at home somehow here 😉
Hi, so i am.planning to go to rotterdam next month and since i'm a moslem, can anyone tell me where can i pray outside the mosque? I am planning to stay long in rotterdam, so jama is not my option. I really appreciate if you guys can tell me. Thanks.
Salaam alekum, Karim. So, literally moving to The Netherlands by the end of the year for work. I'm a remote worker... Looking for an affordable nice place for me and my partner. Where would you suggest that I go that's affordable and nice.
don't even bother coming to Rotterdam its worst city ever,,,,,the city is filled with low life drug dealers,,,,everyone is individualistic and the are not social over there in the Rotterdam,,,,,there finding place cheap apartment is very difficult also the city is very small,,,,I live here 15 years now I cannot believe it ,,,,,and I cannot wait to leave Rotterdam however Amsterdam is the opposite,,,,,social dynamic in the Netherlands overall is very odd,,,,its very difficult the make friends over here if your introvert,,,,,I am extrovert so I hardly had issue socialising but most people are very closed in chit-chatting and are also very closed overall,,,,,I would say Germany is little bite better its much safer has well but,,,,,,germans are more similar to the dutch but dutch tend me more shallow when you talk to them and germans are more reserved but when you get to know Germans they will open up to you and will maintain their relationship with you has if the dutch do not care about these things and are more individualistic and if they see no value in you then the don't want know you,,,,so dutch people are the worst people ever 🖕🖕🖕🖕
Rotterdam is the city of 'opgerolde mouwen'. Sleeves rolled up. It means that we roll up our sleeves and work. And Rotterdammers don't like lazyness (no insult intended, this is how Rotterdammers feel). Remember, used to be a harbour city where indeed life goes on 24 hours. And there is historically a feeling of enmity against Amsterdam which is considered more decadent.
@@hoti47 If that is how you feel, fine. Everone has a right to his own opinion. And certainly live in a place that suits your taste! Rotterdam certainly is short of housing space, so do not live here if you do not love it! Peace!
@@Marianneduetje it's not how I feel lol, it's how the facts are, just 2 weeks ago there was a mass shooting there. Every few days there is a bomb going off. Thank god, I've left from that place. Every place in eastern eu is much better than Rotterdam, but the rest of the Netherlands is good.
I feel more confident in moving to Rotterdam after watching this video. A lot of the things you describe are things that I like.
Love your vibes and video!
I'm so glad! It inspires me to keep going!
Interesting and apt observations, Karim.
Thank you!

Glad this video inspired you. Looking forward to having you join us!
I found Rotterdam way quieter than London and I’ve been there over the years and every time it’s nice and chill

I do! Rotterdam is my home but to me, part of loving your home is being honest about the struggles you face! That doesn't make that love any weaker

I'd recommend living on the outskirts of major cities. Somewhere like Schiedam for example. it's a bit cheaper but still close. I hope that helps!

I guess the Netherlands would seem very efficiency oriented but if you’re Dutch and go to other countries, you’d miss the efficiency.
Great video. So for someone willing to work in the media industry would you recommend Amsterdam then?
It was a really good video. Thank you 👏👏
You're welcome 😊
If that’s so. I’d rather go to Delft or Amsterdam cause I’m a slow paced person who hates hustling.
Let me guess, Rotterdam has bad hairdressers
awesome video
rotterdam is rebuild after the WWII, thats why there isnt that old feel like amsterdam or any other bigger city's around
This is not accurate. Rotterdam has different areas that suits different needs even in the centre.

Is that the reason why it is filled with ugly buildings, bombings, ghetos, meaningless statues?

Amsterdam has more character and feels more adventurous and lively IMO. Rotterdammers feel cocky like they think they're better than the world
Rotterdam is much more genuine and real. Amsterdam is only expats
Nice video, get a mic though
I'll do my best to fix it for the next videos!
I think Hollywood would fit you better....
Really? Why would you say that? I'd love to hear more! Maybe there's something I'm missing?
You mean Hollyweird 🤣
