  • We bought this well maintained Peugeot 206 GTi 180 which had some very odd features and a few issues. Watch as we drive the car for the first time, source and fit some hard to find original parts, and then feature a bit of the history and story behind the very successful Peugeot 206.
    The 206 GTi and GTi 180 have become a rare sight on today’s roads - they are right on the cusp of becoming modern classics in their own right. But following on from the mighty 205 GTi, the 206 GTi had some big shoes to fill… is it any good?
    We really hope you enjoy watching - please do hit subscribe as we have lots more cars to come over the coming weeks, and do leave us a comment as it’s great to hear from anyone watching our content.

    This is a modern classic. Peugeot is so underappreciated. They are even rare over here in South Africa where I am from. This is beautiful original example. One of my dream cars from the mid 2000s. Don't really like them in black though. Red and blue are nice. I have a 208 GTi now

      Thanks so much for watching and for the comment. I have to agree, the blue is my favourite, but this one came up very nicely.
      Enjoy your 208 GTi... when they are old enough I am sure we'll feature one.

    Fantastic and well worth it, completely up my street. Ace vid, I love your channel. I totally agree with you, as a 41 year old, the golden age of 'pure' cars has gone forever. It went in my opinion in 2011 ish. For me the 00's was peak car- reliable, well built, performance and style. Now it is a dull, ugly, angry looking, ridiculously powerfull, 'perfect' machine that we drive. A computer on wheels with 0 personality and artificial noise. I know we have to move with the times but give me the choice between then and now and I ALWAYS pick the older car.

      There certainly is something soleless about the vast majority of modern cars, hence my and many others' obsession with these older cars. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks for the comment, it is great to hear from the new owner of one of my cars. The 206 GTI180 is definitely going to be a classic of the future, so if you've just bought it then you have grabbed one at the right time (in my opinion!). This specific car is a very good example and, with a little tidying, could be one of the best survivors around. Enjoy it (I did) and best of luck during your ownership of the car. Thanks for watching.

    But it keeps up with new models ford Figo's on the highway.
    Got aircon , power steering , electric windows etc. And it's very lite on fuel.

    The wheels you're looking for are actually vortex (not to be confused with the challenger alloys which have a centre bore) wheels and the ones its on currently are not GTI wheels at all, they are from the sport if I'm right. The standard GTI came on 16" nimrod alloy wheels
    Edit: seems they are also known as Atlantis wheels. Every day is a school day

    • @cornishcarcollectors
      @cornishcarcollectors  2 ปีที่แล้ว
