Beautiful scenery and great commentary. You really brought the experience to life and brought back memories from our own hike through the Spectrum Range two years ago. Thanks Steve!

Thanks for the comments Justin! This is my favourite BC trip so far. Cool to hear from others who have enjoyed it too.

Very enjoyable video Steve. Me and 3 friends this the whole Edziza trek last summer and loved it! Yagi ridge was a nightmare for us as we picked a bad route. Really disappointing to see all that garbage at the horse camp. What are people thinking??

Great to hear from you Tumbleweed. Doing the whole Edziza trek is a great accomplishment; well done! We visited the Big Raven plateau a few years back and liked it so much we had to come back for the Spectrum Range. Yes, the horse camp part was very surprising and disappointing to us. We wondered if perhaps a bear got at the supplies in the tree causing the garbage issue, but that doesn't explain the rest of the mess.

Well narrated and captured.. beautiful shots. Did you access via Willow Creek Forest Service Road?

Hi Bearly, we flew into Little ball Lake from Tatogga with Alpine Lakes Air. Unfortunately, they do not have a Tatogga base this year, and instead fly from Smithers.

Awesome! I’m Tahltan.I knapped obsidian on this mountain. Check out the doc: Edziza, Life From Ash and Ice.

Nice to hear from you Oscar! I watched the Edziza, Life from Ash and Ice a couple times while we were planning the trip. So good! The obsidian sites in Edziza were probably my favourite part of the trip. I might check in with you about other parts of the park if we do a third trip to Edziza :-)

@@SteveRuuthSJR Thnx for getting back to me. I am also writing a book about our use of the mountain for 10,000 years. I have a Masters Degree in anthropology. I;m planning a trip back to the mountain to get my supply of obsidian perhaps in July 2020. I'm down toy last boulder.

@@oscardennis7598Very cool. I'd like to learn more about the mountain and its use. Once your book is published, feel free to let us know here in the comments (or we could arrange email if you prefer ).

Great video! What was the temperature range you encountered? Also any issues with bugs and bears? I think I will go this year :-)

Thanks for the comments and questions Melissa. We were there Aug 23-Sept 1. It might have gone a couple degrees below freezing, and never got hot (maybe at most mid teens). The bugs were nearly all gone. We didn't see any bears in the park, but made lots of noise in bushy areas. (Plenty of bear sign in the valleys, however, and we had about 2 dozen bear sightings along the highway!). Feel free to check in if you decide to go and want some more details. A great area!

Thx for the reply 🙂 I’m looking at going this year and wondering if it would be too snowy still the second week of June? Still doing my research...

@@melissaw124 Interesting choice. I don't know about conditions in early June. I'd guess that there could be a lot of snow, and also the creeks could be high. Hopefully you can find someone with parks or elsewhere that has some info on that.
