      You get a dislike for that - eat farmed turkeys that are bred for eating surely.. Why shoot something that has escaped that fate of being farmed.. (I mean a lion hunts by the rules of nature - we just make our own rules and that looks rather sht as we progress to elimate everything around us)

    I've seen a group of Turkeys drive off a pair of coyotes! Here in Western New York they can survive our cold snowy winters better then Ring Necked Pheasants, that were supposed to replace the turkeys. Today the pheasants are gone and in their place wild turkeys are back. They eat a lot of insects that farmers hate like grasshoppers and beetles, plus wild berries and nuts. Being able to roost in trees is safer then staying on the ground like pheasants do, plus they can get into brush and trees for fruit and nuts still hanging in the winter. They only forage in grain fields after harvest so they are not considered a pest by farmers. All in all, a great bird to have around.

      They do a lot of crop damage in the midwest, they are worst than deer because they stomp down the entire corn stalk and don't just feed on the corn while standing like deer do. I hunt on a farmer that hates the turkeys and wants them shot more than the deer

      @@illinidave I've never seen a turkey tear down a corn stalk! Where I live it's raccoons who tear down corn stalks and take a few bites then move to the next I've never seen a turkey tear down a corn stalk! Turkeys, like Canadian Geese, visit corn fields after they have been harvested and eat what ever they find on the ground.

The turkeys seen in this video are definitely here, as 15 of them walked around our yard in the morning about 930 am the temperature was about 45 degrees. They are huge the Tom was there for sure definitely stands out amazing to see and good to them with the deer we have as well. Great video 👍

    We have such "wild turkeys" in our apple tree meadow here in south germany since a few years. They are wunderful and the male Turkeys are also very "devoted mothers" to the chicks. They have a great family association!

    • @AelfthrythCarlson

      @SalmonSlammin13 The line goes back to descendants of the American wild turkeys. A line that has been bred in Germany for years and that is now to be kept as close as possible to wild turkeys in future generations. The domesticated turkey breeds are not crossed. They are very resilient animals, able to fly, much less flesh than the next comparable breeding breed (bronze turkey)... Ours are quite tame, that's not always the case. Hope it was understandable. Greetings from southern Germany! 😃

He would look at us, look at the fire, look at us - it was AMAZING. We just hung out with the fox until he got bored, calmly got up and calmly walked off. Actually you gotta move alot during the spring. At least I do. If you have alot a land that is. Very tiredsum, but worth the pay off.

    • @TheIceman101
      @TheIceman101 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jadon 270 I do sometimes, but if they aren’t gobbling then you maybe calling and they hear you and follow you everywhere you go if you only hang around for a short spell.
      Running and gunning is great to a point I like to sit and call for a couple of hours just to see what comes in, if nothing then I move and try again. I learned since 2013, patiences kills turkeys more consistently.

      It would not get many likes from the people watching because they legitimately like turkeys, not just exploiting them for their bodies. It's nice that the information was presented respectfully. If he went on to talk about killing them, well, not many wildlife enthusiasts or turkey caretakers would be inclined to like or share it.
