He doesn’t seem to understand how real life works. Does he not think there are 2 people who are from 2 different faiths but believe in God? Also how do u measure someone’s belief in God? It’s an internal thing so no one can measure someone’s belief in God. He’s oblivious to the fact that most people who marry in a Gudwara do that just because that’s what u do if u marry as part of a Punjabi family. I doubt there are many “Sikh couples who go around the SGGSJ thinking I give myself to you Guru”. Most couples haven’t even a clue what’s being recited and never read one page of the SGGSJ. Yet these marriages will not cause any alarm bells because the 2 people are from Punjabi families. The issue of inter faith marriage objection is simply racism and social conditioning at play. It has nothing to do with our commitment to the Guru or God. Trust me 90% of “ Sikh” marriages wouldn’t happen if it was down to how much the couple give themselves to the Guru and. God.
I am born a Non Sikh, but I rever the Sikh thought, ever since in childhood I read a book about Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. I read and read and cried and cried till I felt the Gurus teachings in me. I have always tried to live my life the way a disciple of WaheGuru would live in this age. I may never be an amritdhari but I am certainly a practicing Sikh in my heart. Gurbani is the best there is, following it will bring me Moksha I know. Sorry for longish writeup , but I felt I had to. Thank-you
The Anand Karaj is not a "marriage" between two people in the traditional sense, but rather a binding spritual marriage between the couple and the Guru, where the couple is recognizing the Guru as their master, and vowing to make the Guru the center of their lives and follow it's teaching's. Those who aren't practicing Sikh's or are a part of another faith who take part in the Anand Karaj are not only doing a disservice to the Guru, but also their own faith.
@nkaur1986 all faiths do not have the same spritual message. If that was the case, the Guru would have not started Sikhi. When it comes to the Anand Karaj, it has a built on requirement of being a practicing Sikh, this is found in the Gurbani itself. We have historical records of the Guru only doing marriages for Sikh's with other Sikh's, as well as the Guru stating that Sikhs, especially Khalsa, should marry other Sikh's. This wasn't a historical issue, and these controversies are caused by the Gurdwara business model as well as people wanting to cosplay as Sikh's and have an Anand Karaj without actually committing to the lifestyle.
Baptized Sikh thru the sat darshaan. Married my wife, a theist. We have different ideas on the path, but as SatGuru is everywhere, Truth is everywhere, we live unified.
@M L we haven't had children yet, but i would like to introduce them to our lives, yet apply no force to them, you know? Like, take em to Gurdwara and introduce them to Guru Granth and meditation, and whrn they're old enough to understand more, ask them to decide their path in life.
I grew up messianic Jewish, and currently identify that way although there was a period of time in which I was agnostic. Right now I feel connected to messianic Judaism based on the teachings of Jesus and his advocacy for love and other beautiful values. I take issue with parts of the bible which makes me question my faith. Ive been developing a relationship with a Sikh man, and everything he teaches me seems to be exactly what I've always believed in my heart. I don't have to pick and choose verses because there is so much knowledge and peace and love in the whole thing. I want to convert and he's told me that people do convert. I know how important marrying a fellow Sikh is, and Im worried he will think it's just for him. The way I see it is that God brought him to me for a reason, I feel like all of my doubts are being answered.
You do what you think is right and what makes you happy. I am agnostic myself, I would be happy marrying someone religious, even if they want to raise our kids (if we have any) their religion, I'd be happy with that too provided the kids want that. I find myself wanting to be with a sikh woman these last few years, it's such a peaceful religion and the people are so kind.
Don't worry, Sikhs are already in Yasu' di balle balle . Sikhi is eventually going to be marginalized in home state. Hinduism still maintains its adaptive immunity to viruses, whether internal or external history is evident

The Anand Karaj is not a love marriage, it’s a spiritual union between 2 souls. You renounce anything and everything, for the Guru. An interfaith couple cannot fo this because it’s pure hypocrisy. They would be rejecting Jesus and renouncing anything and everything for the Guru. Being hypocritical and going against scripture. Same goes for a Hindu, Jain, ect. This is not opinion, this is a fact, This is not subjective, this is objective. A interfaith couple is however, allowed a court marriage and can get a blessing from the Guru. But they cannot take part in the Anand Karaj. It is only meant for Sikhs, since they follow Guru Ji

What is the guarantee if both the boy and girl are Sikhs, that they follow the way of Waheguru. There are many Sikhs who are just Sikhs in name not practice. It is not just about religion but compatibility in thinking, truly believing in God whichever way it helps you to be a better person. Being born in a Sikh family doesn’t guarantee you to be favored by Waheguru over someone of another faith who is a good soul. It’s written in our scriptures God is without caste, lineage, religion. So who is the collective Sikh community to say otherwise. I’ve seen Sikh marriages ending terribly and I know quite a few. I’m Sikh married a Bengali Hindu and my husband has more “Sikhi” in him that all my family and relatives put together, because he’s a true human at heart and believes in following God but respecting others and not being a hypocrite. I’ve seen many Sikhs go to the Gurudwaras, just to socialize, feign they are Sikhs but talk shit while there, how is that Sikhi?
I completely agree, however if you don’t follow the Guru and decide to do an Anand karaj, not only are you disrespecting the Guru but you are also disrespecting your own faith and values by doing so. You are making a promise without meaning any of it. I don’t think its wrong to get married to a non Sikh as a Sikh (just do a court marriage), however as a Sikh one should prioritize if possible to marry a Sikh, mainly if you plan on remaining a life long practicing Sikh. Otherwise there will always be friction if your life long partner isn’t on the same life long path as you.
@@rebrand7802 are you specifically referring to me? There are lots of people who do Anand Karaj but don't follow the Guru and both are so called "Sikhs". Why should marrying a Sikh be a priority? As far as I'm concerned, not even for 5 minutes has there ever been an argument or disagreement in my household since I've been married and it's been 24 years. What do you mean following Guru...whether you follow Guru, Jesus Christ, or Lord Krishna, they all said the same thing at the very core. I think you have failed to understand the real message of the Guru as well....there is only One God, and one Light, there is no wrong or right way, as long as you understand the message. Guru Nanak was a Hindu himself pr he never practiced any religion himself. Again marrying a Sikh has no value if the person is not a good soul or doesn't follow Guru, that has got no guarantee and I've seen plenty of it. I wouldn't even consider any of my family or relatives Sikhs, they are all so fake. You're making the same mistake in your divisive mentality now thinking that to be a Sikh you have to only do what the Guru Granth Sahib says, at it's core every religion says the same thing, but people add in their own nonsense, and twist it to manipulate ignorant uneducated people. I hope you understand that. No marrying a Sikh should not be a priority if their values and ideology don't match yours, and that is going to cause the real friction, and I've seen it.

I agree with Satpal Singh Ji. Anand Karaj is a spiritual ceremony between 2 Sikhs. But like he stated, it comes down to how you define a Sikh. Being a Sikh has little to do with being born into a "Sikh" family or having the typical "outer" appearance of a Sikh, or calling yourself a Singh or a Kaur. A Sikh is a learner and applier of the ideologies within SGGSJ. An Anand Karaj between 2 individuals who appear to be Sikh on the outside but have no understanding of Gurbani and the teachings is an Anand Karaj without meaning or purpose. It's just another empty ritual, which is what the Gurus advocated against. Anand Karaj is a spiritual journey for both, and the journey can be a lot more smooth sailing if both partners have a similar way of thinking and viewing the world as it may cause less issues down the road, particularly in raising their children. The "religion" the other comes from is a superficial way of looking at this. You have to look deeper than what is on the surface. If they have learned, understood and accepted the teachings of Gurbani and strive to support you, your future children and themselves on this spiritual path, then I think that is the answer right there. These opinions are my own and are based on how I understand Guru's teachings. I ask for forgiveness for any mistakes.
Bhupinder Kaur wow this was beautiful. I’m a Sikh convert and married to an atheist. When I converted I had his full support and blessing. We are still very much in love and compatible. Thank you veerji for all of your thoughts. I have thoroughly enjoyed your channel since stumbling on it several months ago - I truly believe it has helped me along on my own journey towards the Guru. Admittedly when I initially heard this answer, it hurt my feelings :) I say this because my own family is quite mixed - there are Sikhs and Hindus on all sides, including my mother who came from a Hindu family and my father who came from a Sikh. Of course, this is quite common within the Punjabi diaspora and has been happening for generations. But after re-watching the video once or twice, I don't think I disagree with you; rather, I think the key to your message here is that the external "Sikh" does not matter here - the internal compatibility vis-a-vis a desire to understand and become one with God does. While I was raised learning the elements of both faiths, I gradually felt a greater connection to the Guru and Gurbani and by adulthood considered myself a Sikh. Though I am by no means a perfect adherent, I have tried to move myself along the path towards the Guru. Along those lines, for many years I had hoped to find a wife who was also a Sikh - in large part because I felt strongly that our having the same faith would help me along on my journey - but things did not happen that way for a variety of reasons. And I got older and older and the quest got harder and harder (much to the chagrin of my parents :)) Nearly two years ago, I met my now wife, who was raised as a Hindu. And though she had only a cursory knowledge of Sikhi and had gone to the gurdwara on occasion, she displayed more "oneness" than so many others I had met. In her, I saw so many of my own values - except she was much better than I. She displayed more humility, humanity, and far less ego than most women I had met (even those who were externally “Sikh”) - and I knew nearly immediately that she was who I had hoped for. When I asked her to marry me, I knew I wanted the Guru to be at the center of my life and so I asked her that we have an Anand Karaj. She happily agreed knowing how important it was for me. And since our Anand Karaj, though she continues to celebrate her faith (and learn more about mine), I feel closer and closer to the Guru as our lives carry on. Apologies for any offense, but felt compelled to share my own experience. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh.
Rishi Bagga she was never Hindu because a Hindu will itself never marry outside their religion and even if Hindu marry outside their religion they will never give up their culture so she was never Hindu and your mother was too never Hindu because there is no impact of Hinduism on you. Chandan Singh I guess you didn't understand what this guy is teaching in the video. He is teaching that Sikh ceremony(anand karaj) cannot be performed between two person until they are not follow or accepts the teaching of their gurus. So if two people don't have a common thing or common concept of god then Sikh ceremony cannot be performed that why a Sikh and a non Sikh can't have a Sikh ceremony marriage. Same thing I told to this rishi bagga guy that if her mother is Hindu still he has no impact of Hinduism on his life then surely her mother was not Hindu. Same way he married to Hindu girl and believed that her wife will adjust with him having different religion and different thinking of god and the good think is that he convinced his wife about his religious thinking regarding god then surely his wife was not Hindu because she has no impact of Hindu believe and ideology.
You video and views are highly respected. I however chose to disagree on this topic with the idea that one should only marry a person of the same religion. In today’s world if you look at the major problems and wars their due cause is religion at a greater extent. If you talk about Sikhism, it’s a beautiful religion that speaks about equality among all races, and that God lies in every living creature. We are all equal according to Sikhism. However our own community at large doesn’t understand this message which is the basic foundation of Sikhism . They use religion based on their convinience... I would strongly recommend people to understand what our Sri Guru Granth Sahib says in translations and live life based on those teachings instead of using religion based on convinience.
Anand kaaraj is submitting to the guru fully and denouncing any others and any other practices. Why would a non Sikh commit to that then carry on believing in other faiths.

Well this is absurd!! First of all compatibility has nothing to do with the religion. Secondly, most of the gurus were Hindus and the foundation of the Sikh dharam was mainly based on oneness and simplicity. It teaches us to respect and accept all religions: four doors of Sri Golden Temple Sahib😇. Sikhism embraces all casts and creeds and condemns the religion rigidness. Moreover, marriage is an institution of understanding, love and respect and has nothing to do with one’s religion. However, marrying in a different religion should not be a problem, it on the other hand gives both the partners a chance to explore and understand each other’s beliefs and reliance which eventually could lead us towards an understanding and united society. That’s why, rather than setting boundaries, all religions teaches us to be liberal and accept everyone with an open mind.

I think most Punjabi/Sindhi Hindus are internally Sikhs. So it should be ok to marry Hindus. A lot my Hindu friends do nitnem and they mostly go to gurdwara.
@@garimamehta3425 a lot these gurdwara committees are banning interfaith marriages in gurdwara. But they must understand that just because someone doesn't have singh or kaur in their names that doesn't mean they're not Sikh. Sikh is more than just an appearance. So Hindus should be fine to marry Sikhs. We are same culture same belief. But if some Muslim or Christian wants to have an Anand karaj then they should not be allowed. Because if you're really a Muslim you can not accept the granth sahib as your guru. Same with Christians.
@Harman Singh in Sikh rehet maryada we are completely forbidden to marry Muslims. It doesn't mention anyone else. But Muslims in particular. Guru Sahib completely forbade us to marry Muslims. A person from another religion can still be acceptable but Muslims are a big "no-no". Maharaja Ranjit Singh had a Muslim wife. You might not know this but the khalsa panth punished Ranjit Singh for marrying a Muslim women.
We should be respectful of the Hindu faith as they are respectful of ours. We can not expect people to respect us without respecting them too and creating harmony. Many Hindus go to Gurdwaras and many Sikhs go to Mandhirs. Saying this every Sikh I know is very respectful of the Hindu faith and vice versa. Obviously you will get a very small minority of idiots but we must continue to ignore them. It's part of a respectful and peaceful brotherhood of man.
A person can be of any religion and still believe in Sikhi and Gurumat. If you're compatible and have the same way of thinking and continue to keep it that way get married.
Some people use low IQ logic thinking Guru ji would give his blessings of a believer marrying them with a person not believing in him? Lol crazy logic. Sikhi is not anarchic hippy cult where anything goes. If you want to marry a non-believer do it no one stopping you or forcing you to marry another sikh but you will not do it under an anand karaj sikh marriage ceremony and you will no longer be considered a person who obeys the Guru you will be a mannat outside the fold of sikhi unless your non-sikh partner converts and becomes a believer. A real sikh life partner helps you grow spiritually in your dharam if you have a non-believer as a partner chances are they will want you to follow their way of life thus diluting and disturbing your efforts in trying to better yourself in sikhi. Its not difficult to find a decent sikh partner a little effort and training the mind to follow guru's wisdom not your own will help you over come the dunya and materialistic maya obsessed non-sikh mindset and brainwashing people have received in life.

The birth , death, marriage & the life itself is all fixed as per will or command of god ,supported by Gurbani as well as by determinism or cause and effect. Every process phenomenon particle system is contingent to the laws of nature .The intelligence that we name God or Waheguru is present everywhere in every form in every individual in every cell. It's he himself in a Sikh or non sikh ,or anyone believing in any religion or even an atheist ,hence there should be no objection in marriage of a Sikh and non sikh. Further all is god, & all is his will, so we should learn to accept his will. Whatever happens is all preset and predictable following the cause and effect. All is preordained or fixed ,and that is called God's Will. Nothing is beyond the scope of his will. This creation he created is a play, where every particle , photon, living or nonliving is playing its role , flowing with the flow or his will, all is preset , preordained. All is god & all is his will.

However if u just want to be with someone who you love, who is a good human being and you’re not too bothered about marrying in a Gudwara then it doesn’t matter. Just let love guide you always
Yvng_ Jeet You don’t understand my point. Listen to his justification for why only Sikhs can do Anand Karaj...give yourself to the guru,. That’s the reason he said it shouldn’t happen. No disrespect to you but I disagree with everything you said. Sikhism believes in formless, pre existence God and same goes for most of the religions except Hinduism and etc. If a person shares a same profession, He will moreover look at the job in the same way as most of the employees will. They will share same ideology. Marriage isn't only the bond of appearance but also trust, love, faith and believe which could be gained among two people even if they belong to different religions. Our Guru Grant shaib teaches us about spiritual enery without any type of religious ceremonies, A person who is devoted to the name of God is a Sikh, A person who is ready to serve the guru and follow the truth is a Sikh. So can you say to marry a women you need to a Sikh?We believe in equality, diversity, freedom which could only be attained by independent thinking.I don't think anything you said was related to guru grant shaib. Now think about what if like 1000 Sikhs go to somen nation where there are no Sikh women,So will they have to die single?Weren't they be allowed to have kids? We believe in worshipping formless God on the name of Guru's. I believe this is the common belive of most of the religions. Tht sounds so wrong. I mean thts like setting boundaries which was never drawn by our Gurus . U see other person as a human first not as hindu Muslim christian nd so on . I mean marriage is abut compatibility , understanding, respecting eachothrs opinions not stepping on each other’s foot . Our Gurus sacrificed themselves to protect othr religion if they were to set boundaries they would have saved and protected only their own kind . Our Gurus would alwys want us to see everyone equal , don’t judge anyone . If we follow tht sikh should marry sikh , we will sound like few othr groups in our country, who do the same ( u know wht i mean ) . Then how come sikhism will be different from them . Its oky to not have boundaries, its okay to have a mix and its up to u wht ethics u give ur babies. They get to know both the sides . They get to choose if they want , thts wht DIVERSITY is .
I see a lot of commentating on Hinduism/sanatan dharma without even knowing anything about it. All they think is that hindus are polytheist, idol worshippers and believe in fictional god. I just want to clarify them that this is not true at all, there are different school of thoughts in Hinduism .
Hindus beleive in one god parbrahm All the gods and goddesses in hinduism r nothing but different powers of that ONE true God 🕉 Ekam sat viprah bahuda vadanti
@Aman-hm6cwPlease don't misinterpret Hinduism as most sikhs did for themselves and thier sikhi. Hinduism isn't confined to mere beliefs. Anyone who tries to set boundaries for Hinduism falls into the trap of Maya even those words can't escape maya
If you think all the differences of thoughts and life can be dealt with in a different common thinking of both the persons involved then there is no problem. Basically do not disturb each other over religion and also your child, relative, parents, etc. This is directly written in Quran, Guru Granth Sahib, Bible, etc. And these difference of thoughts over connection with God will only be a way to enjoy each other more like unity in diversity. Many may not know but Islam says no compulsion in religion and also says marry a person who follows Abrahamic texts and surprisingly I found so much similarity between Sikhism and Islam. So technically it's almost like an Abrahamic text. So Islam has no problem, neither Sikhism and I also think Hinduism also has no problem in the basic principles so why separate lovers based on external living styles. The basic lines written asks to be together. You said marry someone with whom you can be compatible but compatibility cannot be 100% and if more than 50% of compatibility is there between Sikhism and Islam or Sikhism and Hinduism or Islam and Hinduism then why not change the external cultural habits a bit and be with your love forever why find it in someone else again. I know love is just a word it's basically a support and physical need and also to keep the species alive but support can be from someone not from your religion also and the other two aspects any human being can give. What if one likes the support given by him/her the most whom you are asking to leave because of religion? Is it justified over the basic principles of Sikhism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Jainism?

I think you have gone against your own point. If one's way of thinking is not defined by external attributes, this actually means that two people of different religions can share the same values and concepts of unity. I am a Catholic married to a Sikh through Anand Karaj, we got married in India. When my mother applied for her passport to come to our wedding, she had to ask a Catholic priest to confirm her identity to the Canadian government. The priest said "why can't your daughter find a nice Christian boy?" and my mother responded: her fiancé is a better Christian than most Christians. My husband and I have very similar morals, and very similar ideas about what "God" means. Meanwhile, two people born and raised in the same religion can have entirely different values and different interpretations.

First brother love doesn't exist stop watching Bollywood second if you really want to marry someone then become like her whats wrong with being a khalsa you will have the gurus blessing and the great teachings of the guru you shall for ever never see lust anger ego within you
I don't think like this. If he/she follows guru mat and living his life according to it and on the other side if he/she follows another religion that maybe Hindu or Muslim and living life according to their rituals and beliefs but they are in love and they really respect each other's beliefs then there is no issue to marry. I believe there should not be any ambiguity left. So marriage works on the principles of love and respect.
The notions of a married life in Guru Nanak's path and for the rest of the world are different. The Sikh marriage works on the principles of love and respect FOR Guru Nanak's Sikhi. Therefore, both husband and wife need to have their lives centered around Sikh principles, wherein both live their lives together with the same beliefs, discipline and meditate together with the aim to become one with Vaheguru. There's no scope of what "I don't think like this" in Sikhi. Again, core Sikh principles are for Sikhs willing to lead their lives as per Guru Nanak's teachings. It is a tough, disciplined but spiritually illuminating path. Rest of the world is free to live as they wish.
@mohkamsingh Well, would you mind sharing the source where these beliefs of Guru Nanak dev ji are mentioned in the Gurbani…. I am a follower of sikhism, Yet I haven’t came across such rigid principles anywhere. As far as my knowledge he always gave priority to humanity, love and kindness. The only reason of creating a new religion i.e Sikhism was to provide people with a path of simplicity and oneness, rather than imposing boundaries and dividing people in the name of religion or caste. If you could share such writings with everyone, it will be quite enlightening for many of us😊 God is one and humanity is above all!!✌️
@@japinderkaur7467 bhenji I'm sorry if this offends you, but you are carrying too many (baseless) assumptions about Gurmat for me to answer in simple text comments. I request you to start a Sehaj Paath of Gurbani and read meanings (not english translations) from a respected Teeka alongside your Paath. With Guru Sahib's Kirpa, you'll definitely come to know about real Sikhi from Gurbani. As regards to "writings", Guru Sahib have countless times clearly instructed Sikhs in Gurbani to refrain from keeping Sangat with Manmukhs, such Sangat is referred to as "Kusangat" in Gurbani. Again, a Sehaj Paath would help you in understanding the amount of stress laid on being in the Sangat of Gurmukhs and staying away from the Sangat of Manmukhs. Kusangat of a Manmukh drives a Sikh away from Vaheguru. What greater Sangat (company) would a person have of someone other than ones spouse? If your spouse is a Manmukh, your whole lifetime becomes Kusangat in itself. Simply put - your life's chance of meeting Vaheguru will be destroyed unequivocally. Janam wasted.

So by this logic can a Sikh marry a non-sikh with the same kind of thinking and consciousness. For example a Hindu with the vedantic versions of the same of the same spiritual ideas ?
Any person who believes in God truly knows that anyone on this Earth is free to marry anyone. The purpose of religion, be it any...is to promote and teach harmony and oneness. I agree with what you’re saying. However, it’s a shame that in practice - Sikhs are defined but the outward 5 signs and ‘culturally’ told they need to marry another Sikh. It’s nice that over the years - there is more acceptance about marriage not necessarily being between two Sikhs (whether practicing or not) but we are so far off some changes like acceptance of marrying a Muslim, or gay marriage, etc.
Dear here is your answer Sikhs rehatmaryada (code of conduct) allows Sikhs to marry Sikh only because of aur Anand Karaj which is blessed to us by guru Arjun Dev Ji which allows and prove our marriage in front of our living guru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Moreover before marriage it's mandatory for sikh couple to get baptized (they have to take Amrit) and after that they can get married. So marrying a non sikh will be breach to code of conduct as per our religious beliefs. I have one more explanation for you Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj say - When Daughter of a Sikh marries a Sikh, it is like nectar meeting Nectar. When a Sikh gives his daughter to non-Sikh, it is like throwing drop of nectar in mouth of Snake (which is doomed to become Venom after some time) It is said Educate a daughter to educate a whole family. Same way when a daughter converts or leaves faith of her father, she is taking with her entire generations of Sikhs. Her kids would not be Sikhs, but will belong to faith of her husband. That's the reason Guru Sahib specifically mentioned in Rehatname that Daughter of a Sikh must marry a Sikh. Educate your children, keep them close to yourself, in good Sangat and always loaded with knowledge of Gurbani so that they make good choices their life. Sikhi is being Slave of your Guru. You have to meet certain conditions to be a Sikh. Those who support these bullshit things like inter-faith marriages and brag about freedom to chose a partner - Yes you are free to chose whatever you want to, but then you CEASE to be a SIKH! Sikhi doesnt come with YOUR TERMS , It is on GURU'S TERMS!! (''Non-Sikh couples'' are most welcome to Gurudwara's to seek blessings of our Guru, but there is no blessing there for someone who is giving BEDAAVA to Guru and taking generations of Sikhs with her).
It means treat everybody the same without discrimination. It doesn't mean you should marry them and make babies with them if they don't even believe in the same faith as you which would mean they have different values and beliefs which would further mean you raise confused kids and this leads to the end of the real Sikhi and gives birth to some new form of bs that's made up by your own rules and learnings. Get it?

Thought this guy was a spiritual guy. He’s obviously not. He’s way off. He’s used an example of 2 people marrying where one believes in God and one doesn’t. God.

The Anand Karaj is not a love marriage, it’s a spiritual union between 2 souls. You renounce anything and everything, for the Guru.
An interfaith couple cannot fo this because it’s pure hypocrisy.
Example:
If someone is a Muslim, they would be rejecting the Prophet Muhammad and renounces anything and everything for the Guru.
If he goes back to being a Muslim and is not a Sikh, it would be hypocritical and go against the scripture of The Guru Granth Sahib.
Same principle applies to a Christian. They would be rejecting Jesus and renouncing anything and everything for the Guru. Being hypocritical and going against scripture.
Same goes for a Hindu, Jain, ect.
This is not opinion, this is a fact,
This is not subjective, this is objective.
A interfaith couple is however, allowed a court marriage and can get a blessing from the Guru. But they cannot take part in the Anand Karaj. It is only meant for Sikhs, since they follow Guru Ji
The guru here is one universal god. I just dont understand if guru nanak dev ji himself said there is no hindu there is no muslim only one god.

I’ve seen many Sikhs go to the Gurudwaras, just to socialize, feign they are Sikhs but talk shit while there, how is that Sikhi?
you need to find the tight one

We are not having kids so it makes no difference to anyone else what our beliefs are. I’m very lucky to have both Waheguru Ji and the relationship with my best friend and soul mate in my life.

Same goes for a Hindu, Jain, atheist.
This is not opinion, this is a fact,
This is not subjective, this is objective.
A interfaith couple is however, allowed a court marriage and can get a blessing from the Guru. But they cannot take part in the Anand Karaj. It is only meant for Sikhs, since they follow Guru Ji

God.

Here is your answer
Sikhs rehatmaryada (code of conduct) allows Sikhs to marry Sikh only because of aur Anand Karaj which is blessed to us by guru Arjun Dev Ji which allows and prove our marriage in front of our living guru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Moreover before marriage it's mandatory for sikh couple to get baptized (they have to take Amrit) and after that they can get married.
So marrying a non sikh will be breach to code of conduct as per our religious beliefs.

Good sense, and inspirational. You make me want to learn from the Guru right now!
@HaVoC DoGe Love, marriage etc too are preordained, and part of God's will.
There's no way anything could happen beyond the laws he created, or anything can violate the laws or cause and effect.
Thus we all are flowing as per will through cause and effect.

And arranging marriages for adults is pathetic you have eyes and ears if we are all equal then we should choose who we want to marry and maybe we can accept everyone

Hindus beleive in one god parbrahm All the gods and goddesses in hinduism r nothing but different powers of that ONE true God 🕉
Ekam sat viprah bahuda vadanti
Sorry buddy, Hindu Sikh wedding is quite common and has been for centuries.

@@DM-ui1oy No apologies required I understand and know the history and that is why I am saying that we are more alike but not common and that everyone sees.

Thought this guy was a spiritual guy. He’s obviously not. He’s way off. He’s used an example of 2 people marrying where one believes in God and one doesn’t. God.
Its all about practicing sikhi. A sikh can completely practice his faith when he/she is with someone of same faith. Otherwise what you get is a waterdown version of sikhi. Also in interfaith marriages it is very to find kids brought up in sikhi.
What if your parents are not aggreeing on marrying in another religion???

It’s nice that over the years - there is more acceptance about marriage not necessarily being between two Sikhs (whether practicing or not) but we are so far off some changes like acceptance of marrying a Muslim, or gay marriage, etc.
Dear here is your answer
Sikhs rehatmaryada (code of conduct) allows Sikhs to marry Sikh only because of aur Anand Karaj which is blessed to us by guru Arjun Dev Ji which allows and prove our marriage in front of our living guru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Moreover before marriage it's mandatory for sikh couple to get baptized (they have to take Amrit) and after that they can get married.
So marrying a non sikh will be breach to code of conduct as per our religious beliefs.
I have one more explanation for you

When Daughter of a Sikh marries a Sikh, it is like nectar meeting Nectar.
When a Sikh gives his daughter to non-Sikh, it is like throwing drop of nectar in mouth of Snake (which is doomed to become Venom after some time)
It is said Educate a daughter to educate a whole family.

And its not that the other person (M L) is not being humble. Its just that he is educating you. If you are so humble then please actually take the time to prove your point that sikhi does allow marriage between sikh and non sikh. Show real humbleness my friend. Not fake one where you say something and then just want to hear that you are right and not try to think outside of your head. So if your humbleness is real and you really are humble, then please actually reply to me and prove to me that your view is correct instead of just giving you view and just staying limited to it without wanting to hear someone else. Actually hear me and reply back if you have the guts. Real humbles is when you are open to the possibility that you might be wrong and therefore are open to having an honest open discussion. That is REAL humbleness. But your "humbleness" is fake. You say something, and you just want to hear that you are right and are not open to an honest discussion to know if you are right or wrong alright. No need to show fake humility here and be all "preachy". Show real humbleness M.r jaideep singh instead of fake humbleness
@@ijaisinghdeep all you do is read one line from Gurbani and make your own meaning of it. Cause your an idiot thats why. If you have the courage reply back to me and actually say something instead of just making one comment and then acting as if you know what your saying

Two that face the same goals
Why be at odds , over physical attraction? A life is a long time.
