For legal reasons, she doesn’t do it as a lawyer, as that is just wrong morally too, but she’s able to do it if she wants.

I thought she only felt emotions she’s not telepathic which would be the ability to read minds. Once again they are doing way too much with Cecile empath powers to expand her role on the show. She needs to go back to being a meta defense lawyer that has empath powers to relate to her clients and maybe an occasional consult at STAR lab. As Joe’s role decreases on the show in S9 so should hers. There is no reason why Joes baby mama should be around so much when he isn’t.

Most depictions of empathy (and some telepaths) are like they can see a color or person or object that was always there but that the rest of us could not see.
When you are around a blind person, how easy would it be to stop seeing them or anything else?
It would take effort. And if you just walked into a room, you’d see whatever was obvious in that room before you’d choose what to look at and what not to.
That’s not necessarily due to any fault on your part but the bigger the object or emotion the harder it is to miss it…for those who can see it, anyway.

@@stevecandle4 That’s just a rumor so far that the ninth season will be the last. There hasn’t been sources with definite claiming that it will end on the ninth season. Sources that the CW is considering an abbreviated final season nine and people do suspect season nine might be the end, especially with Grant’s one year contract along with Jesse L. Martin leaving the show. But it’s not confirmed that it’s cancelled after season nine.
