  • What's the purpose of the church? What does the Bible say? A church in San Fransisco believes that bringing in people with no regard to the Christian faith must be the answer.

Very fine commentary. Before the day of relying on programs for church growth, we relied on the Holy Spirit for that. We had evangelism outreaches either through the church or individuals. I thank you so much for exposing the travesty in the church.

Once you abandon the gospel and evangelism - you are left with worldly methods to try and get people in the pews. The problem then is that you are filled with unsaved people who don't ever hear the gospel.

I left the Presbyterian “church” when it instituted Drag Queen Story Hour. Np, just no!

Your continued rants against other people and churches only causes division and discord. The Bible teaches that, after salvation, we continue to sin (1 John 1:8; 2:1). We won’t reach sinless perfection this side of glory. God imputes or accredits the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ to the believing sinner while he is still in his sinning state (Rom 3:21-22). All churches should be welcoming and affirming. Praying for you that you would read the Bible and see what it says about sin and Gods Love. If you don't sin then Jesus died for nothing.

While it is true that we continue in sin even after we are saved, the Bible still calls us to repent and turn from these sins. Churches should welcome all people but never to affirm them in their sins but to point to salvation that is found in Christ and to a life of loving God with our whole heart, mind, and soul. "If you love me, keep my commandments." Praying for you.

@@biblewalkwithjohn So Christ's death on the cross for our sins was a one time event? If you think you have to stop sinning to achieve salvation or righteousness in the eyes of Christ that is works. Which makes a mockery of what Jesus accomplished at the cross for us sinners. When he said "it is finished" it is.

@@biblewalkwithjohn Amen. You don’t affirm people’s sins. You affirm people and God’s love for them . Christ message is powerful because it sets boundaries and calls us to be higher than our base nature and not to continue to wallow in sin but try to rise above it. Will we always succeed? No. But we need to keep pushing to be better.
