I've been told creams are bad for locs. Leaves build up. I switched to clear a few years ago and never get product buildup. Bad build up overtime will eat at your locs.

Wow. No one has ever told me that. But it never did any harm to my locs. Just made them more moisturizing.

Only when you just start your journey because it will unravel them. But on mature locs you can. Your hair needs moisture. If not it will break.
