I know you don't want to get into religion - I don't blame you, whichever way you feel someone will disagree with you on the internet - but I can see you like story telling songs that draw on religious themes. Can I suggest Leonard Cohen - hallelujah? Leonard Cohen was a great artist, sadly passed away now, but he drew on his Jewish faith in some of his songs and I think you'd like it. Hallelujah is a pretty song, covered by a number of artists but the original from Cohen is my favourite.
I can definitely check it out. I think I have heard his version but I would still be willing to react to it and look into the lyrics deeper. I do know for sure that I know Jeff Buckley’s version. 😊
Her face when she heard Melvin Franklin say "Ohhhh yeah!" in the beginning :) this is my fave song ever. David Ruffin is my fave singer of all time
The Genius of the LEGENDARY Iconic musical treasure Mr William Smokey Robinson ❤️
I lived this song when my lady left this wonderful earth......she is waiting
Don't underestimate those deft violins floating in the background carrying the mood...
I believe Berry Gordy used the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in many Motown songs
@sheilaarmistead7888 Yes. He may have used a few members of the Orchestra, but not the entire 16 or so members.
The Funk Brothers were tight on this one.
This music makes me wanna get up and sway dance! 🕺

The Shangri-las too! Agree with all you've written though.
