Thanos is a fantastic villain, especially how well they handled him in the movies. The Joker is easily one of the best characters ever made so I'm looking forward to this too, I like how it feels nothing like a comicbook movie.

WB/DC have great success when they 1 pick the right Director and trust that person's vision and 2 focus on themselves. Their meddling goes back to Superman 2 which is ridiculous. Todd Phillips and the producers confirmed today that substantial changes have been made to the script since way before that early draft of the script ever leaked. They were constantly rewriting scenes on set as they were filming, and that leaked script is from way back in April 2018. Doesn't mean the movie will be better or worse because of it, but it does mean that we are going to be getting a different movie than what that leaked script promised.

Great reactions. I think most people who decided to read the leaked script already had decided that they would not like the movie because if you have any interest in the movie, you wouldn't want to read the script and have it spoiled.
In trying to explain this movie to my 63 year old mum (who is hands down cooler than most 60+ people out there) I found myself saying that it looks like they've taken a comic book character and twisted the story so it could actually be something that happens in real life. Now, mum's a huge movie buff (and she loooves Tarantino films) but not so much super hero stuff, so it was a hard sell. But then I made her watch this trailer, and she just went Hells Yeah! I'm watching this in the theatre!

What I heard from the positive side is at the Venice Film Festival had a huge 8 min standing ovation for the movie after the movie ended. And critics are loving it as well. I mean 90% on RT is pretty good. Now I still have to watch it. But I do know without a shadow of a doubt Phoenix's performance will blow my mind. Team Joker!

“Grounded”- that's something that DC does rather well. _Road to Perdition_ and _A History of Violence_ are 2 great examples imo.

I agree with you guys 100% here. I think this movie is going to be amazing, and WB absolutely needs to allow the DC movies to be their own thing and not try to emulate Marvel. And this movie does look like it drew a lot of inspiration from The Killing Joke.

totally agree..so hyped for this even if it is just a character study..joker is an all time favorite character of mine and hearing people dog it already leaves me looking around saying wtf are you talking about..this has the potential to be so amazing..the darker and further into disparity a movie travels the more further i am in..maybe there’s something wrong me but fuck it..i love everything i see so far!😍
