  • Cuts (rushes, out takes) for "Le Mans Special "- they may relate to Colour Pictorial item called "Twenty-Four Hours at Le Mans" or a documentary called "Twenty-Four Hours to History" - see other records. Pathe seem to have shot enough footage to make both the documentary and the Pictorial item.
    Filmed 15 and 16 June 1963.
Various shots of cars speeding past the camera.
Nos 21 and 22 are both Ferrari 250P models.
No 23 is also a Ferrari 250P, co-driven by John Surtees.
    No 25 is a Ferrari 250GTO.
    No 2 is a Ferrari 330LM Berlinetta.
    No 24 is a Ferrari 250GTO.
    No 53 is a Rene Bonnet Aerodjet LM6, co-driven by Jean-Pierre Beltoise.
    No 26 is a Ferrari 250GTO LMB.
No 31 is a special MG MGB.
No 39 is a Lotus Elite Mark 14.
No 41 is a Rene Bonnet Aerodjet.
At 01:54 is the Rover-BRM co-driven by Graham Hill.
No 40 is an Alpine M63.
No 3 is an AC Cobra.
    No 2 is a Maserati Tipo 151/3.
    No 18 is a Jaguar E-Type Lightweight.
    No 10 is a Ferrari 330 TRI/LM.
Some nice low shots of cars approaching the camera. Lots of shots of the race. Cars are driven past the crowd with celebrating drivers and team sitting on the bonnet. Graham Hill is seen in some of these shots. Some of the drivers, including Lorenzo Bandini (co-driver Ludovico Scarfiotti), are interviewed. A man sleeps in a hammock beside the track. More shots of the cars. One car leaves the road. Some shots of the cars driving in semidarkness (either dusk or dawn). More footage of the race.
Some of the footage appears to be too fast - possibly filmed this way to give impression of high speed.
