I'm here as a patient. I contracted scedosporium Psuedoallescia in my thumb surgical incision. It healed to a tunneling pin hole draining on and off. I begged the surgeons NP to CULTURE the thing!!! The 5 cycles of atb were ineffective so it made sense to me. I first was told it wasn't necessary but I was to take Biaxin and rifampin for 6 mos. "To completely eradicate it". Upon my second request I was told that the culture would be "watered down" due to the atb. I finally went to an unaffiliated doc who performed the culture and low and behold it was mold not bacteria. I subsequently had to undergo a surgical debridement because an MRI showed bone marrow involvement. Long story short I am taking Voriconazole and suffering its S/E. So please docs, NPs, PAs future docs . Get a culture! Im out. Good presentation.

I don't know how is that possible, but your lectures are ALWAYS connected with my current topics at the university. How did you know that I need a repetition of antifungals for my microbiology classes? ;) Thanks for the lecture, i found it really helpful :)
    Greetings from Poland!

Professor Eric. I am writing here due to 2 things. First, i need to say thank you for your great videos. I am in studying medicine in Brasil, and although we have a different epidemiology and resources, i found your videos very good.
Second, I what from you or other one that commonly studies by videos to tell me about videos on gynecology, obstetrics pediatrics and public health. Where can i found videos of this themes in a good quality like those of this channel?
    Thank you very much!

Bruno KKksias Thanks for your kind words. Regarding those other medical fields, unfortunately, most free video resources that I'm aware of tend to focus on internal medicine, anatomy, or biochem. I know that Paul Bolin's TH-cam channel has a large number of videos on pediatrics, however, I honestly haven't watched them so can't comment specifically on quality/accuracy. I don't know of any public resources for Ob/Gyn or public health. If any other viewers know of resources, please feel free to post them here.

I am not sure if they are directly related to what you need but these are a few channels I ablsolutely love.
Paul Bolin - He is doing a wonderful job
Manish Bhalla for clinical exposure, amazing work
Ignouhs discussions - I just love them. type dnb ignou on youtube
      th-cam.com/video/w6deJ6G1WtY/w-d-xo.html
Washingtondeceit for pathology - I would highly recommend you to check out the channel if you have to study Pathology - A veteran guy Also I would recommend you to check the channel Dr Rabiul Haque. Washingtondeceit will present you with Short lectures showing you the slides - so it will help you greatly while reading Robbins.
      Dr. Rajaratna - for opthalmology
Dr. Ghanshyam Vaidya - classic video cassettes it is not a channel but a lot of channels have his videos.
These guys are doing an amazing job, I can only contemplate the amount of work it takes to make youtube videos I have run a blog once and I can only imagine how difficult it must be to make the videos and edit them - One thing it does mean is that these guys are highly passionate and passion/love for your work is I think the most important thing one needs to become successful. Please check out the channels.
Dr. Najeeb - I owe a lot to him for what all I know.
      The noted anatomist for Anatomy.
      Standford25medicine
      Osmosis
      Dr. Rajeev Ranjan Gupta
      Acland for Anatomy
One thing that I think is a must watch is the interview of toppers of AIIMS PG INTERANCE EXAM BY AIM4 AIIMS/NEET. - the video goes into the details of what is important and what is to be ignored.
Note- I have not mentioned a lot of channels I suppose.

Can fluconazole damage your body or cause lasting dizziness/weakness?

    • @StrongMed
      @StrongMed  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Fluconazole's major risk is to the liver, ranging from asymptomatic lab test abnormalities, to (very rarely) fulminant liver failure. It's been uncommonly associated with dizziness as a side effect, though this would be expected to resolve with discontinuation of the med. I'm not familiar with permanent dizziness or weakness occurring directly due to fluconazole. However, fluconzaole has many drug-drug interactions, and it's possible that another med that a patient is on when stating fluconazole could become toxic because fluconazole inhibits the former's metabolism. And thus, additional serious side effects could occur because of that effect. One would need to closely examine the patient's complete medication list to check for any such interactions.
