I'll definitely be putting a set of the 101Ts in my bag this year. The smaller head and less offset makes them a better choice that the 101s. I WISH I could easily order the 4 - 6i in 101, and 7 - PW in the 101T. I think this split set would be ideal for my game.
So I just bought and have been using the 301mb with KBS Tour Lite R shaft. I have average swing speed at 78 and ball speed around 100 on my club's trackman simulator. I've always used pure forged irons. I love these clubs. I accept the lower carry distance from 6i thru PW since I love the feel and accuracy. Not as concerned about distance or that "springboard" feel of the more forgiving type club. I use a 7 wood and 9 wood instead of 4 & 5 iron. Playing course around 6200 yards. Takomo customer service and purchasing process is "outstanding". I used a custom order. Thanks again, highly highly recommend. 10 GHIN Hogan Apex previously
@YoYoZamolo it's a new system, is it not calibrated correctly? My understanding is a trackman rep did the install and calibration. 7i club speed 76 100 avg..carry is 126 yds
@YoYoZamolo not using my ball, interesting you should say that, it's supposedly a "trackman compatible" titleist ball that was recommended to our pro. Supposed to give "best" results whatever that means, I guess radar accuracy? The weather is getting warmer so I'm curious to see what happens with my normal ball on the course. I've only used the sim 6 or 7 times since January when it was installed.
Nice... unfortunately for me, I'm getting older and have lost swing speed and distance because of it. What's good for me as a 64 year old, my numbers are in the average range and not quite in the "old lady range"! To see "average" numbers behooves Takomo since the majority of your market consists of us... keep these comparison's coming!!
Would love to see this with 201s. I absolutely LOVE my 101s but I’ve also noticed such an improvement in my swing, I’m starting to turn them over more (pulling left). Trying to decide between 101t and 201s but really “stuck”. Any insights would be great. Thanks!!!
201s are less forgiving but feel so good when hit flush. I think the difference is similar to other brand line ups where the hollow body irons are hotter off the face and farther while the forged ones are less forgiving but more workable.
I think I’m going to get a set of 101t irons. I really wanted something super forgiving but the offset of the 101 is scaring me off because I tent to miss to the left. I’m also a 14 hcp and dropping. Thanks for posting this video.
Good to see these at an average swing speed. Well done. Would love to see similar comparison throughout the range. I'm playing the 201 irons and would like to see a similar comparison to the 301 CB. Also really curious how the iron sets do at this swing speed in the 4, 5, and 6 irons. I'm guessing that the 5 iron might only be functional at an average swing speed with the 301 because of their higher loft. Still would be good to see the lower lofted irons perform to figure out where I blend to my hybrids and woods.
I have bought the 101T's a week ago and my miss was left with P790's, with the Takomo's I have taken the left shot completely out of my game, now have a controlled slight draw and fade as required, got the Skyforger wedges too, they are simply sublime, Great clubs, fantastic service, thank you Takomo.............................now should I try the driver ?
Hey man. My current miss is to the left as well. What is your handicap? I need some new irons and am considering the 101 or 101t. Also, what shaft did you get with your irons? Thanks
Received my 101 last Wednesday 2/10/24 played Saturday and again yesterday Wednesday took maybe two or three swings to get used to the weight and bang hitting them flush out of the middle and they look fantastic
Got my 101 t's about a month ago. Definitely see a big difference in results if I'm not getting the distance I want because of my own swing mechanics. Skyforger wedges are phenomenal.
If you prefer a soft feel and amazing workability then the 201 are a good option! If you want more distance and slightly more forgiveness then the 101T are the best option!
@@takomogolfcompany We need the ability to do a combo set of 101t (4-6) and 201s (7-PW) that way we get the best of both. I think they are the exact same lofts. 😄

I think that showing the swing speed of older golfer is good as we new to see how the ball fly's and distance. We are not young with a higher swing speed.

I purchased a set of 101T. I am excited to get them. I am curious to see the black onyx shafts I chose from Tokomo, and see the results in my game when they arrive.
I can't comment from personal experience with those iron sets but I've seen comments from people that switched from the p790s and loved them. Haven't seen much about the jpx923 but they aren't as popular as the p790's so that's not really surprising. There are some comparison videos on line where people hit our clubs next to clubs like those so that could also be a good place to see how that stack up. Thanks for the comment! - Tim
I’m in the market to replace my 27 year old irons my one and only set I 8500 spin on my 7 iron and it only goes 110 do you think in the 101 you can get that much spin
This video and the Flex Comparison video have been immensely helpful, thank you. I am 66 years old and in the process of reintroducing myself to golf after a 14 year lay off. I have been torn between the 101’s and the 101T’s. I used to play of 11 having fallen back from a 9 handicap. 3 months back and I’m hovering around 15 at the moment. I’ve no idea what my swing speed is. In the wet UK conditions we currently have I am driving 220 - 230 yards. I hit a 7 iron around 140 yards (virtually no run as I tend to hit a hight ball which sits down quickly). My feeling is that the 101’s with a regular shaft would be a good fit. Would you agree?
Hi there! Yes, I think 101's will be good for you right now, especially after the long hiatus. They are the most forgiving option with the largest club face. 101T is a good option, too, since your HCP will most likely go down fast 😎
I came off of using blades and went to the 101’s I’m a 17 handicap, blade were a bad purchase I know but I used to get 180 with 6 iron and hitting my 6 iron 210 with the 101’s it’s actually crazy
Great comparison mate but would love to see comparison of 201 to 301 cb and just see the difference. Maybe even throw in tests with the obsidian shafts as well as I think lots would appreciate the look at them. Cheers.
If I bought a set of 101T irons and sent them off to a chrome shop to get copper plated, would it mess with the performance of the club? I really like the copper finish.
It could affect the performance because, 1. added weight so swing weight would get heavier, 2. if the plating would affect the grooves and their depth so less spin. But you can always ask the place locally if they have done something similar in the past!
Because the 101's have a slightly larger club face than the 101T's the overall forgiveness is a bit more with that set. The technology is the same in both but more club face means more sweet spot! Thanks for the comment!
They are out of stock at the moment with more on the way. You can click on the customize option on the 101T page and select left handed from there. Sorry for the inconvenience!
