      @@cupofzest I sticked with salt because I love it that way (memories and it's lighter at night😂). However, I will try some other toppings with it next time! You saved my popcorn making skills, thank you soooo much🤩

    Tried making popcorn earlier and ended up with burnt kernels and a smoked kitchen, defeated I came to youtube and liked how simple, clear and short your video was.
    After changing my smoked clothes and throwing out the failed attemped in the trash I gave your method a try. And now I have a perfect bowl of popcorn! 0 burnt or unpopped kernels, 100% perfect fluffly and crispy popcorn. Thank you so much!

    I did this with all the "dead" kernels that were leftover from microwave popcorn packets I'd used. I always felt sad that there were so many kernels unpopped, and now I have a way to make sure none go to waste! Thank you!

    hello from the UK, nice video, very entertaining. I'm literally eating a bowl of popcorn now!
    I use a similar method to you, I use ghee(clarified butter) instead of oil tho, as it gives a nice buttery taste without actually using butter.
    Also, if you like salty popcorn, I've learned to grind it into a powder with a pestle & mortar, more even spread, better flavour throughout.

    Could you use butter if you don't have oil on hand?

    • @cupofzest
      @cupofzest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      great Q! No, the milk solids in the butter will burn. You can use ghee/clarified butter if you have that on hand!

    About how much oil do you add to your pot before adding the kernels? Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for this. I was wondering if I could cook the popcorn kit (popcorn kernels + seasoning + oil combo) in the pot. Should I just separate them according to your cooking process? Thank you.

    • @cupofzest
      @cupofzest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Yo'll need to separate the seasoning, I'm afraid it will burn.

    I use a Whirley Popper and buy my popcorn kernels from Amish Country Popcorn. The red, purple, and blues are the best. I have that yellow Pyrex bowl, it was my late parent’s.

      I’ve never tried a Whirley Popper! I love that you get popcorn kernels from Amish Country too. That’s so cool! Oh, that’s so nice…we’ve had a yellow bowl like that at my parents too ❤️

    This brings me back when we used to do this for Carmel popcorn balls. Making popcorn and ice cream was so much fun as a kid in the 60s. Love your retro look.
