Intentionally going the wrong way on one way sections of trail is a great way to get it shut down, especially as part of a large group. One guy being an egotistical try-hard reflects poorly on the entire group.
I'm not so sure devil's staircase is one way. I've seen vids of other people climbing it.

Looks like a hell of a time. Nothing more beautiful to me than a huge mafia of decked out 4runners and toyotas all rollin and wheelin together.
Just did this. Camped out right before the view point. Saw a Nisan Sentra make it through. Pretty rad lol

It’s really the first time I’ve gone out with a group of Toyotas, I’ve always wheeled with Jeeps. The staircase is pretty steep for sure

with a 4runner trd off road with all season tires stock? I got one rented this week and debating if I should take it? The staircase Is the one I am afraid can damage the vehicle.
You'll definitely make use of the factory skids-if it's a rental, I'd skip it
