This was very informative. The ghost function is crazy useful and I had no idea it existed. Going to try this out as soon as possible. Loving this series keep it going!

Glad you like it :) Yeah I found out about the ghost stuff pretty late as well - it's super useful!

This series has been craaaazy useful. Thanks for doing them. I'm already doing a few things you are explaining, but it's really reassuring to see someone else doing them. Your guide for progressing from D is invaluable. I have just left the rookie class, and was looking at the Skip Barbers and whilst they look fun I want to go down the GT route. I'm not fan of the MX5 but I'm starting to get the hang of it now and it's actually really fun. Thanks again and you have your self likes and a subscription.

How is this series useful to a beginner? I’d like to know about the racing line, breaking points, and how to approach corners and hit the apex. You know, fundamentals.

At around 27:00 you talk about the overlay and said you can provide a link. I can't seem to find it!
NVM, the link is in Vol. 4.

Haha, makes sense... If you have the choise between BMW and MX5, take the MX5... it´s totally clear what kind of people jump at the BMWs first chance they get ;)

I’m in the same position. I got out of rookies super fast. And now trying to figure out what to do. I went into the Ruf gt3 challenge and it’s been pretty good. I don’t win, but sure enjoy the car. I was also looking at fanatic global or simlab production. Something you have all the tracks for in the beginning. What are your thoughts on those series?

The computer will generate the racing line with braking points. Do you recommend using that?

How to you know the mistakes your making? Like I'm braking and taking the corner, it looks fine to me, but looking at your driving and others, I know the corner can be taken quicker. But I don't know what I'm doing wrong. So how do you figure out if it's your braking, acceleration or cornering that wrong?

hey, this is a great video Dan thanks for doing this! I only just got out of rookie and still have no idea where to go next and these videos are extremely useful! Quick question, what was the overlay you're using in the top left corner?

The reason I would love this wheel is it due to the fact I do not have one and I’m using a Xbox one controller for Sim racing which is extremely hard so if you could I would love to have this wheel

Am I correct in assuming that those in the real race can't see you on the track or in the relative, correct?

Someone said iRacing has AI drivers now. Can you drive against AI to advance your ranking? Can you drive against them just for fun? I think that would be a more fun way to learn the track, to me it's a little boring to drive around by yourself in sims to learn the track.

    • @DanSuzuki

Set your wheel to the maximum it supports and then just calibrate it in iRacing - iRacing will der it up properly for you :)

“Sim racing beginner guide”: spends 20
minutes per video clicking through websites reading to us; “regarding cornering technique, I guess most of you are familiar with that.”
