    Jane, loved the video. After you wrap, how to hide the cut line and do you pit a sealer on

    Jane, this is wonderful. I love the conversation, I feel like you are talking to me. Never boring! I will try this with the glasses but I was just wondering if it would work on ceramic tiles. It would be an easy way to seal the tiles. Greetings from Australia and keep healthy!!!

    Will resin take a traditional tea light or will it melt?

  • @chanalowenthal3897
    @chanalowenthal3897 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not try one of the inexpensive silicone mats. Could you peel off the resin from the mat and then cut it? That would solve the sticking problem. Also if the mat is shiny, would the finish be shinier? I’m not sure that’s what you’d want. Just a thought. Thank you for the video. This is the first one I’ve watched but I plan to watch the others!

    Can you not just apply the inks to the candle holder without the resin and seal them?

    That’s awesome! How many hours do you think you need to let it sit to be dry but still flexible? 12? If you wait too long does it get brittle?

    In my experience, Always use Parchment paper, never Wax paper! Major difference.

    why not just put the ink on the glass and then seal it? would be cheaper, less materials nad the gloss of the candle thru the colored ink more vibrant.

    Can we use real candles instead of battery candles wouldn’t it cause any effect on resin

    Hi Jane , what you made is stunning! Just one question, there are so many different types of colours on the art resin site do you use the alcohol ink, please? Congrats on your project! Cheers, Sean

    Hi! Love your videos❤️Quick question, have you found that the colors fade after a little while? I did this on a larger scale on canvas and the ink started fading after about 2ish months. Especially the blues...

    • @JaneMonteith
      @JaneMonteith  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      PourHouse Art what brand of inks are you using? I use Jacquard and it does not fade. I’ve had people run into problems with Tim holtz line. But I also don’t ink on canvas. I find it does not produce the same vibrancy as using yupo paper. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

    Aren't alcohol inks highly flammable? How can you use them as candle holders?

    • @55shocked55
      @55shocked55 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once the alcohol evaporates it's no longer flammable.

  • @WillowX5
    @WillowX5 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Why wouldn't you just stuck on a rotisserie so it rotates give the glass a quick sanding and just pour the resin on.
    That way your getting the benefit of it being resin, a smooth glass like finish, instead of a rubbery glued on slab with a seam.

    • @ram1brn

      u do know resin hardens like a rock it will not be rubbery

    • @JaneMonteith

      Linda Hoyt in this case I wouldn’t as it could heat up the easy tack glue and loosen the adhesive

    Why are you not adding the alcohol inc directly to the glass? Why did you choose to use ressen?

    • @JaneMonteith
      @JaneMonteith  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Courtney Taylor I like the effect better with resin. It’s hard to blend ink like that on circular glass just my preference. Plus resin is fun. Thanks for watching.

    These are very cute and pretty, but the seam at the back would drive me crazy. So, I am wondering why you just did not coat in resin, put on a cup turner or the like then add alcohol ink, then another top coat of resin. The rotating would level it automatically. No disrespect, but just appears to be way more labour intensive than needs be..

    ug don't use wax paper it can stick to resin. Use a non-stick craft mat.
