Organizing the project was actually pretty straightforward, as I've done this type of guide vocal/mass chorus thing before, but never to this scale (shoutout Yuki and Kiba for helping me wrangle everyone). I had to make a whole spreadsheet with the lyrics and sort who is singing where. hey, I'm one of the Voices! there were actually 420 tracks of just voices. each of us recorded 6 separate tracks - main melody, three harmonies, and two chants/whispers/growls. all of it was mixed live by Kat in the organisation discord. she got an A on her mixing assignment.
For those who don't know who technoblade is, he's (obviously) a minecraft youtuber, and is often considered the best minecraft player flat-out. Beat dream in a 1v1, became number one potato farmer on skyblock because he just felt like it, shit like thst. But yeah, he died a few months ago from a rarer type of cancer, leaving a lot of people heartbroken. Also, one of his main nicknames is the Blood God-- whenever he got in a fight on stream (in minecraft), his chat becomes flooded with viewers writing BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD.
This song for me will always be the embodiment of actually being in Technoblade's live chat, it would always have high energy especially when he was in a (video game) fight. His chat constantly spammed, so the repeating lines (especially "one of us" and "blood"/"blood for the blood god") are way too accurate. Will forever love this song
To bad they forgot the chat telling him that he missed diamonds, or netherite, or tridents, of gold, or water, or any other thing in the game, that was in the chat a lot lol
I and a bunch of his fans cried when we found out he had passed. Technoblade was such a big and positive influence to all of us. He made us laugh, smile, all the good things one could feel, even when he was going through a tough time. And yet he was still his usual grateful and cheerful self when we all found out he had cancer, and even before he died. Technoblade, we wish you a fair and well deserved rest. @@Bseaz I found out on the last day of a church camp. I just finished packing my stuff for the morning.. it was maybe midnight.. A rude girl came into the room laughing saying that techno died. I told her not to joke bc I was a huge fan. I had to watch the video on someone else’s phone bc I didn’t have service. We would leave at 5 to head home… after sobbing for 4 and a half hours.. I fell asleep for half a hour before waking up to board the bus. Spent 16 hours of the bus ride home in a daze.
I freaking love this song. The insanity that went into organizing it, and the devotion of fans to Technoblade is heartwarming. You'll notice too that there are a fair number of Technoblade songs that he has commented on. He was very loyal in return to his fans, and was kind enough to comment even just a "Yooooo!" on these custom songs made for him. Just a great guy in general. Rest In Peace Technoblade. You never lost, you simply took the cancer down with you.

For me I've been watching Sad-Ist's "Technoblade" video. And then rewatching his videos. I realised just how many inspiring quotes he says. Always being hidden in his bits.his life was cut short. But he really made the very best out of his life.

So essentially in the Dsmp, chat (us) manifests in different versions. For Philza, it's the crows that bring him shinnies (donations) and who have been unofficially adopted by him. For Technoblade, it's the voices in his head always edging him on. A lot of the time when Techno streamed he would get a lot of viewers (200k+ at least) and most of us would just spam in his chat sentences like "one of us" if he rings the bell (that's your cue to become a channel member) or "blood for the blood god" because to us, Techno is our blood god and we demand that he k1ll (in video games ofc). There would also be letters like "L" or "E" that would get spammed depending on the situation. My point is that this song is Techno fan's anthem.
Also, Ranboo's chat is the ender particles that float around him, and there's more that I can't remember at the moment. But the chats that have representation are actually canon, so if chat tells Techno, Philza, or Ranboo something, then their character can actually know it.

If you like this you might like Woe to the People of Order. It's another Technoblade song but its a radical shift from this. There are alot of covers out there but i really like Cami-cats version since there are added instrument's at the trade-off that it's slower in pace than the original but only by slightly.

I never thought about the sheer amount of coordination that would go into so many voices in one track, but in hindsight it almost seems like something impossible to overlook. Additionally, I knew Technoblade had a huge impact in the Minecraft community, but I had no idea his reach extended to far. His content legitimately made things brighter for myself and I think a good majority of the people who consumed his content, and he will forever be missed. The voices is talking about Technoblade’s chat in his live streams. Since he was so well known for being really good at player vs player combat in Minecraft, his chat started calling him The Blood God. Whenever he was involved in events in Minecraft like the dream smp or Minecraft Monday or even Minecraft championships, everyone in his chat started yelling “Blood For The Blood God!” and his most famous quote is “Not even close baby! Technoblade Never Dies!” because no matter how many battles he was in, no matter how close to death he was, he never died. But sadly on July 30th this year on his TH-cam channel a video titled So Long Nerds was uploaded, and his father was in the video saying Techno had died of stage 4 cancer. That day the world went silent, because he had inspired and touched so many people when he was alive. His dad said that Techno said if he had a chance to do it all again, he’d continue to be TechnoBlade, because he loved making all of us happy and that made him happy. I know it’s been a few months now but I still feel a hole in my heart from this tremendous loss. And while Techno is not physically here anymore, he will always be alive in our hearts. Technoblade truly never dies. Fly high king. And frick cancer.
Hey! Love the video! Glad you enjoyed this, I was a part of this project! (Name is on the bottom left corner ;)) Yeah, derivakat didn't go through 70 vocal tracks.... She had 70 PEOPLE record THREE PARTS (so she had to go through roughly 210, not including the spoken parts during the instrumental parts (which was an audition kinda thing to see who got it) and beedle0's beautiful high notes in the ending chorus)! Everyone did a high harmony, main melody, and low harmony track and then she picked out who would sing in which part of the song. It was an absolute BEAST of a project and I met so many wonderful people because of this. :') But from a production standpoint, it was one of the most organized things I've ever been a part of and many props to Yuki and Kiba for keeping all 70 of us on track in the discord server lol

I swear, Dream SMP songs are just on another level. If you want to do another song featuring a harmony between a lot of people, might I suggest Never Meant to Be, uploaded on Precious Jewel Amor's channel? It's a very different feel than Voices, but the harmony is just as amazing, even with very minimal instruments!

GAHHHH I WASN'T EXPECTING YOU TO EVER LISTEN TO THIS GOD DAMN (HI!! I'm a voice in the song! You can find my name on the right of Techno's head! hehe) We worked on this song for a solid 3 weeks, it was such a speed production that was so worth it in the end. For some questions- The "Blood for the Blood god" line mentioned is something that Techno commonly said in his streams on the Dream SMP. It was such an iconic line we had to put it in. Same with the Chinese spoken! Its a reference to Sun Tzu's "Art of War" which Techno referenced in his every once in awhile videos and was another iconic piece of his community and personality. At 3:18 you mention the files ;D; There were actually about 78 people accepted for this recording but only 70 of us (including Kat herself) ended up submitting our voice files. We got to record as much of the song as we wanted to and she took the parts she liked from us and mixed them together, sectioning us off into groups. Kat would have us watch her put it together and she would even be auto tuning most of us. So much work :'D The file was *very big* it looked so daunting with how many lines I saw- And a fun little fact- That bit at the end is not actually all of us singing together. It would've been too much audio-wise- things clashing together. But we thought it would *look* nice visually if all the names at the end lit up. Another fun fact was that a long low bass note was created with just "E" (A live stream chat spam bit ) from one of our vocalists who did it as a joke, but Kat ended up taking it and incorporating it into the song. I can't point out where it is but *it's there*

It’s what it means to be a Voice in his head. There isn’t another group I’ve been apart of where they had this sort of engagement. I’ve never seen another piece, song or otherwise, that captured what it meant to be a fan of it so perfectly.
I miss him so much. He was an amazing creator on TH-cam honestly a one of a kind type of person that shouldn't have been taken so early. Anytime especially during the worst of 2020 when I was at my lowest and struggling with adapting to the newly placed covid laws I ran to his videos to get a good laugh and escape for awhile. Was absolutely crushed when I saw that video titled "so long nerds" because knowing that techno was suffering from cancer at the time I knew there was only one reason why techno would say goodbye so early when he still had so much to do. He seemed like the type to laugh at his crying fans so long.
Technoblade is many things. He's an inspiration, he's a legend but most importantly, he's a hero. I can't believe it's been over a year without him and it still hurts. I'm proud to be one of his many voices (chat) and I will forever be. We miss you King...Blood for the Blood God.

OOOO MY GODS YES this song is so good!!! I'd highly recommend listening to the World Language Cover of this song!!!!!!! While it has its similarities of course i can assure it is just as flavorful a listen with a bunch of new twists to it (guitar solo‚ everything being sung in bout 12 different languages and a overall different take on the original version its awesome)

His dad said that Techno said if he had a chance to do it all again, he’d continue to be TechnoBlade, because he loved making all of us happy and that made him happy. I know it’s been a few months now but I still feel a hole in my heart from this tremendous loss. And while Techno is not physically here anymore, he will always be alive in our hearts. Technoblade truly never dies. Fly high king. And frick cancer.

Yeah, derivakat didn't go through 70 vocal tracks.... She had 70 PEOPLE record THREE PARTS (so she had to go through roughly 210, not including the spoken parts during the instrumental parts (which was an audition kinda thing to see who got it) and beedle0's beautiful high notes in the ending chorus)! Everyone did a high harmony, main melody, and low harmony track and then she picked out who would sing in which part of the song. It was an absolute BEAST of a project and I met so many wonderful people because of this. :')
But from a production standpoint, it was one of the most organized things I've ever been a part of and many props to Yuki and Kiba for keeping all 70 of us on track in the discord server lol
I still want you to react to either “error” covered by jubyphonic or “count” by Courtney Parker. Both are beautiful songs and the second one REALLY doesn’t get much attention.
Being someone who got to chant “blood for the blood god” and “one of us” in techno’s live chat, I wanna say, I wish I didn’t take those moments for granted and I miss them so much. Technoblade was an amazing person and we will miss him everyday. Texhnoblade never dies!!! Not to us
Technoblade will always have a place in the community. Sure he was chaotic as hell, but he was also kind, and always tried to make light of any situation. As he said in his final note to us, the viewers, he's gone to fight god. Mans was always positive til the end.

I swear, Dream SMP songs are just on another level. If you want to do another song featuring a harmony between a lot of people, might I suggest Never Meant to Be, uploaded on Precious Jewel Amor's channel? It's a very different feel than Voices, but the harmony is just as amazing, even with very minimal instruments!

We worked on this song for a solid 3 weeks, it was such a speed production that was so worth it in the end. For some questions-
The "Blood for the Blood god" line mentioned is something that Techno commonly said in his streams on the Dream SMP. It was such an iconic line we had to put it in. Same with the Chinese spoken! Its a reference to Sun Tzu's "Art of War" which Techno referenced in his every once in awhile videos and was another iconic piece of his community and personality.
At 3:18 you mention the files ;D; There were actually about 78 people accepted for this recording but only 70 of us (including Kat herself) ended up submitting our voice files. We got to record as much of the song as we wanted to and she took the parts she liked from us and mixed them together, sectioning us off into groups. Kat would have us watch her put it together and she would even be auto tuning most of us. So much work :'D The file was *very big* it looked so daunting with how many lines I saw-
And a fun little fact- That bit at the end is not actually all of us singing together. It would've been too much audio-wise- things clashing together. But we thought it would *look* nice visually if all the names at the end lit up.
Another fun fact was that a long low bass note was created with just "E" (A live stream chat spam bit ) from one of our vocalists who did it as a joke, but Kat ended up taking it and incorporating it into the song. I can't point out where it is but *it's there*

The thing about this song is that it is the embodiment of Techno’s chat and what it felt like to be around him. You ask me to describe being a Techno fan and what it was like, I would show you thing song and his merch he put out after his death. This song is what it’s like to be a Technoblade fan. It’s what it means to be a Voice in his head. There isn’t another group I’ve been apart of where they had this sort of engagement. I’ve never seen another piece, song or otherwise, that captured what it meant to be a fan of it so perfectly.
I miss him so much. He was an amazing creator on TH-cam honestly a one of a kind type of person that shouldn't have been taken so early. Anytime especially during the worst of 2020 when I was at my lowest and struggling with adapting to the newly placed covid laws I ran to his videos to get a good laugh and escape for awhile. Was absolutely crushed when I saw that video titled "so long nerds" because knowing that techno was suffering from cancer at the time I knew there was only one reason why techno would say goodbye so early when he still had so much to do. He seemed like the type to laugh at his crying fans so long.

OOOO MY GODS YES this song is so good!!! I'd highly recommend listening to the World Language Cover of this song!!!!!!! While it has its similarities of course i can assure it is just as flavorful a listen with a bunch of new twists to it (guitar solo‚ everything being sung in bout 12 different languages and a overall different take on the original version its awesome)
