@@RandomNon I agree but I doubt the symphony is finished. Thank you! I admit, I was concerned I had gone a bit overboard at first, but I'm super happy with how it came out! Truth be told, there's like 16 different harmonies in the final chorus and I don't regret ANY of them! And slipping in the famous line "If you think you're a hero, then die like one" was a must, lol
I blindly stumbled upon this song earlier today and I got a similar vibe. This song definitely has similarities with the epics and legends of ancient heroes. The war, betrayals and general sense of unreasonable bloodlust. It's good. Also, judging from the comments, this is from a minecraft thing? Never woulda guessed that.
The fact that you think Cu Chulainn is even close to Heracles when it comes to recognition or that a Minecraft character will come anywhere close to either of them is legitimately hilarious.
@@eXJonSnow As true as it is you didn't need to demean the character just because it's from minecraft. That's like saying Call of Cthulu was trash just because H.P Lovecraft wrote it.
Thank you so much! When I first heard it I immediately thought of Scottish/viking tales of woe and war. You can literally hear me slipping in and out of a Scottish dialect the WHOLE time, it still cracks me up.
I've been thinking, character wise, what Techno's backstory is from before the SMP story and what I think would fit is this: Technoblade was a disciple of a far off kingdom's league of religious city guards tasked with protecting the king and his family. He was brighted eyed, enthusiastic, and painfully, stupidly _naive._ He thought his country was just and good, but over the years he had to watch, sidelined and powerless, as the government oppressed and brutalised it's people for the sake of gaining and maintaining their status and wealth. He tried to push back, tried to sway his friends' loyality to the regime but they outcast him and abandoned him for their king, for their government, and seeing the pain and suffering he decided he had no choice but put a stop to it. In the dark of night, with the methodical nature of a devout follower of the Blood God of the Guard, he eliminated the king and his council before fleeing his city, his family, friends, and home, knowing there was no longer a place for him there. He was a wanted man with no place to call his own and no one on his side. He roamed for years, surviving off the land and what he could earn through bloodsport and prize fights, gaining the reputation among his opponents of a skilled and efficient fighter in the ring, a man unhinged with nothing to live for but everything to die for. His notoriety rose and rose, and he ended up in a title fight for the ages. His opponent? A mysterious man from a distant and young land, tumultuous and warring, who went only by _Dream._ The disciple of the Blood God ended the fight bloodly but victorious, his god well fed, and slipped away in the clamour and celebration of his triumph. He thought that would be the last he would see of the insidious Dream. Months laters, battle forgetten and wandering without aim, the warrior stumbled across a young man, no more than a child, tattered and in tow a man injured and broken. They bargained for his aid and he joined their rebellion, a rebellion against a corrupt government and a powerful dictator. It was familiar, it became _home._ It was not as it was in the past, they understood him, they valued him. They were brothers in arms, not contenders in a cruel hierarchy. They were not like the others. They were _different._ They were. They _were._ They we- They- They were, _right?_ Edit: I have offically begun the planning process to turn this into an actual story! If you want to keep updated on it follow my Twitter @TyrTheExtraord1 and keep an eye on my Ao3 account Tyr_The_Extraordinaire. I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support for this idea, this originally started as just a vent for my thoughts on the SMP and DSMP!Techno but seeing people's interest in this little blurb has really motivated me to flesh this out into an actual narrative. @@harrywilson4162 Either he was someone that helped him escape the city or he rescued Techno from starvation or exposure when he was on the run and on the verge of death, his guardian angel so to speak.
I love that "Oh woe to thee, ye people of order" is actually proper english, and not just guessed old-timey speak! In modern English it just says "Oh woe to you, the people of order"
Not to sound like a complete nerd, but in modern English it would be “Oh woe to you all, you people of order”, ‘cause thee used to be the plural of you, but was dropped with no singular word to replace it. One of the reasons I prefer more old-fashioned vocabulary, old people know how to get sh!t said.
My boss overheard me listening to this during work. He said "Must be an Irish girl, they're always caterwauling about some guy doing *something*." I mean he's not 100% wrong.
The original version of this song is one of the best Dream SMP fansongs I have ever heard. But it cannot hold a candle to this iteration. The original is very well written; and very well sung, but this is a masterpiece. The few alterations you have made to the existing lyrics are unilaterally improvements, your harmonies are delicious, and your additional lyrics completing Techno’s story feel like they add to the folk song vibe of it and give it closure. The addition of more harmony and sound effects to the final lyrics is simply beautiful and, in the truest sense of the word, epic. Did I mention how good your lyrics are? Because they really are. They keep the tone of the original, and even enhance it: Take on these beasts, I’m now friend to none, If you think you’re a hero then die like one? Now leave me be, for this is the end? I have no words for how utterly poggers.
To be that guy, a lot of the lyrics after the original are from a comment under it. But it would be unfair to say they just duct-taped them together, and all other changes are also very good.
A neat addition that I don't think many people would notice is the soft wind blowing throughout the song. It, along with a certain effect (or lack thereof), gives us a fantastic picture of where this song is being sung. The wind tells us that we're outside on a relatively calm day. Perhaps slightly cloudy. But the big thing here is the lack of reverb. When a voice stops singing, the sound cuts very quickly. Reverb is caused by sound waves travelling and bouncing off of objects such as walls or buildings. One of the only places you can naturally get very little reverb when outdoors is in a large field with barely anything around. And if you piece everything together from there, war ballad, outside, cloudy, large field. It paints a picture of an empty warzone, either shortly or long after the battle has ended which in turn creates a heart wrenching story. After the battle, the sole survivor stands alone, crying his emotions out in song as the bodies of his former friends lay all around him. Even if all this wasn't intentional, this song is an amazing example of how small things like that can add so much depth.
How dare make me feel.... When you said all the different aspects I thought a potato field but then you hit me with that? That caught me off guard but it makes more sense
While he may be gone, at least we will remember what he stood for. He may be gone, but his spirit lives on. For Technoblade may die, but the mark he left in the community remains. Technoblade truly never dies, LONG LIVE THE BLOOD GOD! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!
I love the addition of "If you think you're a hero then die like one" and "and I put my pick through the butchers teeth" probably the best technoblade themed song out there.
Someone pointed out in snivys version how it works better with no instruments. Its simple, clear and without bias to him being good or evil. Its a song from the perspective of a strait forward and proudless man
I decided to listen to this after hearing about techno’s death, I could hardly get a minute in without crying. We lost a legend but our memories of him will live on.
Yeah, it' really fun to try and make one, I made one that's more of a *reference* to him rather than straight up Technoblade, so I went with Changeling, but the rest is still pretty accurate. I went with Battlemaster fighter and went for a bunch of commander type abilities because of how he lead most of the revolutions into battle and is now technically in charge of the syndicate.
Dude I literally made a huge portion of my campaign basted off of things from Technoblade the bad guys are, as far as my party is concerned, a bunch of anarchists and they are literally call the Syndicate for lack of a better name. Little do they know that the NPC I introduced in session two is actually the leader and the BBEG and just wants to take over the world. It’s going to be a fun reveal.
It's amazing really. The lyrics are something that you'd expect techno to scream in anger while standing in his Arctic home. But instead it's delivered in a silent fury accompanied by many voices in his head. Absolutely beautiful.
One thing that stands out to me is Techno calling Tommy a poor child even when he betrays him. It makes me wonder if Techno feels sorry for Tommy, going back to a failing country, even though he hurt him.
I definitely think he does. Tommy had finally been a brother in Anarchy for Techno, a friend. I like to think Techno didn't enjoy what he had to do to Tommy in the final battle over L'manburg, as Techno longed for his friend back, his brother, in a sense.
@@tuckermiller9137 it also pains ME LMFAO I really hope they make up later :( Techno has Phil and Ranboo and Tommy has Sam, but I really wanna see them all as one big happy family!

SMP's main protagonist wasn't Dream, the ruler of the world, but the man who laid down his weapon to farm crops... The farmer who was brought back to war and rekindled his bloodlust, only to be betrayed at the end of it all... This is the story of Technoblade, the Anarchist Pig.
I have never watched Dream SMP, and I know literally nothing about it. This song is so freaking good it it compelling me to start diving into that rabbit hole of content (Edit): Technoblade never dies

Is there anything special you did to make your voice sound so clear? Did you use any special editing techniques? I'm curious what microphone you used, I always seem to get some white noise with mine (which I masked using the wind sound).
I use an Audio-Technia (AT2020) mic with a cheap pop filter over the top for recording! As for white noise, I am currently in a room that has no windows and is n my basement. Surrounding yourself in thick blankets also helps to reduce outside noise! As for editing, audio-wise I use GarageBand on my computer! There's a way to adjust mic sensitivity so it will only pick up your voice other than the static of reality (This also works to cut out breaths!). If all else fails; Reverb helps mask white noise a TON!! :D
about a week late and you already got a reply but something that i'd definitely recommend is recording about five seconds of background noise before talking. This way, you can put your audio in Audacity and then use the "Noise Removal" tool to remove background sound. However, just wearing a blanket or comforter over yourself and mic like Mizz Fish said also works!
I just realized- Why is that skull in his hand so small? Wither skulls should be particularly large. Unless it’s not a wither skull... is it an orphan skull?
The world has been shook, and we are all grieving, regardless of what the future brings, we will remember, and never forget, Technoblade. Our Hero who never gave up, who fought till the last second.
I came to my home, triumphant with valor And met friends opposed to tyranny's power I 'stablished my throne as the king of the north Daring any one man to attack and come forth Little did I know of the damage at hand Til' great vines of blood came to take 'way my land My blade shall not waver with friends at my side The egg will be broken, though it tries to hide But then I heard of a nearby kingdom Who claimed they had nobody to lead them They said I had no real reason to fear "There isn't a government being built here" The base was secretly filled with great weapons Their master plan to bring down all their dangers If their true intent is directed at me It will be their last hour, just wait and see Oh woe to thee, ye People of Order I burned your homes they continue to smoulder And now you'll never rise again This is my kingdom and these are my friends

At the final iteration of this Ballad, when the SMP storyline finally ends, a collab between everyone that covered the song and added more lines would be a great conclusion for this song.

Seeing as the final verse in this version came from a youtube comment, I'd like my hand at trying to write the next verse, where Techno and Philza set up the Syndicate and then another verse of Techno canonically encountering the Eggpire with Ranboo (Please note: I have very little experience with music or song-writing, but I love this song too much, I want to try and write a verse): The leaders were slain, the government gone Though I did know, they may seek a dawn They'll try to fix what I've destroyed And my withers may fall into the void My friend and I, though together we're strong Still we needed to bring others along And so we created our syndicate here And called for some allies to bring leaders fear We found our base, our hidden stronghold A place for our allies, far off in the cold Sic Semper Tyrannis, all fair 'round the table And where we made all leaders unstable Oh woe to thee, ye People of Order I hope your homes continue to smolder And that you'll never rise again And woe to those who control their friends I laid dormant, then without any draw I thought I'd finally abolished law But then came something, to fix what I'd done 2 weeks after I'd thought that I’d won An empire rose, bringing many around It thought to come and make me bound Another voice tried to come and declare But silent compared to those already there The enemy of my enemy, she tried to protect And she did help, and earned my respect My friend who followed they drew him in But what his loyalty was, it wasn't thin Oh woe to thee, ye People of Order I hope your homes continue to smolder and that you'll never rise again And woe to those who control their friends Overall, I quite like the first verse, however the second isn't as great. Though, considering how new I am to song writing I think I did decently. Making the second verse was hard, because I don't really have much to go on, considering that stream was only about 2 hours. I'd love to see someone more skilled than me try to take a crack at re-writing these verses or even making another cover of this song with new verses! Can't wait to see how this song evolves as more of Techno's story unfolds! A few notes on my writing: -The first verse I wanted to include the table (Because that whole scene with DreamXD was too funny, at least to me) and I tried to find someway to include Sic Semper Tyrannis, but it's kind of awkward. Initially that line was "No man shall rule, all fair 'round the table" but I wasn't sure which one was better, so I choose Sic Semper Tyrannis. -The second verse I wanted to include Ranboo getting trapped by the egg, and I wanted to at least mention Puffy arguing against BBH -Seeing how close Techno is to Ranboo and Philza, I didn't really want to keep the line "And woe to those who called me a friend" because it didn't fit. And seeing as that line changes throughout the song as Techno does, I thought I could get away with changing it again to reflect Techno having built up new friendships again -The line "My allies unstable, their loyalty thin" gets referenced twice in my verses, with the syndicate wanting to make leaders "unstable" and when "what [Ranboo's] loyalty was, it wasn't thin" both of these lines almost flipping the table, with Techno's enemies being unstable and Techno having an ally with strong loyalty. Edit: I changed some of the lines to make them flow a bit better in the second verse
This is good. But c!Ranboos loyalty is kind of questionable because I feel that at some point he will have to choose between Technoblade or Tubbo and Michael
I liked both verses, but I feel like the line "The enemy of my enemy, she tried to protect" is a little too drawn out for the melody. I tried singing each line in tune with the melody, and the one I put in quotation marks was the only one with which I struggled to make fit the melody. -Now my singing voice, on the other hand... That's not something that can be fixed anywhere near as easily.-
Rest in peace techno, I'm glad that music inspired by you got me into your content. You were an awesome person, and a shining light that we needed during the pandemic. #technobladeneverdies

Did you really have to Comment 3 separate times?
I've been thinking, character wise, what Techno's backstory is from before the SMP story and what I think would fit is this:
Technoblade was a disciple of a far off kingdom's league of religious city guards tasked with protecting the king and his family.
A mysterious man from a distant and young land, tumultuous and warring, who went only by _Dream._
The disciple of the Blood God ended the fight bloodly but victorious, his god well fed, and slipped away in the clamour and celebration of his triumph.
They were _different._
They were.
They _were._
They we-
They-
They were, _right?_

Couldn’t have said it better myself
Pog-Champion!!!
The most pogchamp of the pogchamp
Gree to disagree, This one is amazing but I still prefer the original
Ah yes book
How dare make me feel.... When you said all the different aspects I thought a potato field but then you hit me with that? That caught me off guard but it makes more sense

Rest in peace Techno.
A beautiful song for a legendary man.
That ending is so powerful especially with the tnt on beat this needs to be on spotify
Would it be narcissistic for me to loop a cover of my own song on Spotify? Because I would do it
@@TheShinySnivy I mean if you did a cover, of this cover that would be the ultimate cover.
@@TheShinySnivy Wait until there's more verses to add ;)
Being music/choir nerd and a DSMP/Techno fan , this brings me such joy! It's just so good!
Thank you! Can you tell I'm a choir kid too? Haha! Theatre and Choir prepared me for this ballad, tbh.
Hey *ChAd*
can we just acknowledge the amount of teeth in that skull? like the song is an amazing cover but why so many teeth? whos skull is that? so many questions
Bro, I'll be honest, I have NO idea how teeth work. Mayhaps one wither had too much dental work, HAHA
Mr. Wither can you please tell me why you need to have more teeth then what is considered healthy?

A ballad truely worthy of such a legendary man. His song will be carved into the ages, as Technoblade never dies.
Its been a while since the dreadful day of techno's death. Listening to this song is the first time ive really felt the weight of his absence in months.
rest in power techno 💜
I want to learn this song off for the sole reason of singing it while walking at night trying to act cool
Its also a F*CKING BANGER
No, you dont understand, IM OBSESSED WITH THIS. I FULLY MIGHT HAVE TO MAKE AN ANIMATIC OF THE LAST PART. I HAVE LITERAL CHILLS.
Got news that Techno passed, losing his battle to cancer. The brave soldier has moved on to challenge the kingdom of God. May he rest in peace
"Technoblade Never Dies"
Songs like these will make sure that his memory never will
Seeing as the final verse in this version came from a youtube comment, I'd like my hand at trying to write the next verse, where Techno and Philza set up the Syndicate and then another verse of Techno canonically encountering the Eggpire with Ranboo (Please note: I have very little experience with music or song-writing, but I love this song too much, I want to try and write a verse):
The leaders were slain, the government gone
Though I did know, they may seek a dawn
They'll try to fix what I've destroyed
And my withers may fall into the void
My friend and I, though together we're strong
Still we needed to bring others along
And so we created our syndicate here
And called for some allies to bring leaders fear
We found our base, our hidden stronghold
A place for our allies, far off in the cold
Sic Semper Tyrannis, all fair 'round the table
And where we made all leaders unstable
Oh woe to thee, ye People of Order
I hope your homes continue to smolder
And that you'll never rise again
And woe to those who control their friends
I laid dormant, then without any draw
I thought I'd finally abolished law
But then came something, to fix what I'd done
2 weeks after I'd thought that I’d won
An empire rose, bringing many around
It thought to come and make me bound
Another voice tried to come and declare
But silent compared to those already there
The enemy of my enemy, she tried to protect
And she did help, and earned my respect
My friend who followed they drew him in
But what his loyalty was, it wasn't thin
Oh woe to thee, ye People of Order
I hope your homes continue to smolder
and that you'll never rise again
And woe to those who control their friends
Overall, I quite like the first verse, however the second isn't as great.
A few notes on my writing:
-The first verse I wanted to include the table (Because that whole scene with DreamXD was too funny, at least to me) and I tried to find someway to include Sic Semper Tyrannis, but it's kind of awkward. Initially that line was "No man shall rule, all fair 'round the table" but I wasn't sure which one was better, so I choose Sic Semper Tyrannis.
-The second verse I wanted to include Ranboo getting trapped by the egg, and I wanted to at least mention Puffy arguing against BBH
-Seeing how close Techno is to Ranboo and Philza, I didn't really want to keep the line "And woe to those who called me a friend" because it didn't fit. And seeing as that line changes throughout the song as Techno does, I thought I could get away with changing it again to reflect Techno having built up new friendships again
-The line "My allies unstable, their loyalty thin" gets referenced twice in my verses, with the syndicate wanting to make leaders "unstable" and when "what [Ranboo's] loyalty was, it wasn't thin" both of these lines almost flipping the table, with Techno's enemies being unstable and Techno having an ally with strong loyalty.
Edit: I changed some of the lines to make them flow a bit better in the second verse
_slow clap_
*quietly reaching for mic*
This is good. But c!Ranboos loyalty is kind of questionable because I feel that at some point he will have to choose between Technoblade or Tubbo and Michael
@@TB-ol7zn I can't wait for technos chat to react to him having to kill ranboo.
That's not something that can be fixed anywhere near as easily.-

,,For this is the end." Hits different now after what happened....😕
11 months later, still hits hard, more verses should be added
I couldn't stop listening to the first one when it came out but now I have a problem and can't stop with this one
Oh wow, I really liked the addition to the ending.
And of course telling Tommy to die like a hero.
And of course the rest of it
"If you think you're the hero, then die like one." :A wither sounds:

Today a legend has passed and will not soon be forgotten...
Rest in peace techno, I'm glad that music inspired by you got me into your content. You were an awesome person, and a shining light that we needed during the pandemic. #technobladeneverdies
I love this, I loved Shiny's version, the lyrics from the comment on the original and the clip oh Shiny singing them, and now you put it all together with the little changes here and there and it's beautiful.
Thank you both for blessing us with this.
The ending literally have me chills that was so good
I’m gonna say this I like both versions but I feel this one has less emotion as it’s more like a song and the original had a different ✨vibe✨ but both incredible
Yeah, I definitely took more a more "choral" approach while Snivy took a "Old war hero sings a ballad of his battles"
Definitely a different vibe and 100% inspiring
@Aaron Anderson well since most celtic music was in either 2/4 or 3/4 and sea shanties are often in 6/8 time, there are a lot of similarities in the general sound
"If you wish to be a hero, then die like one'"
Damn this quote, this entire video hits so different and deep now. You were a great hero to many including myself. Even when you were in so much pain you still worked to put a smile on our faces. God bless you and your family. Rest in peace Technoblade.
Rest in peace to the blade! As they say everyone person has 2 deaths, one when they're gone, and another when they are forgotten. If this is truly the case then the blade will never die...
