OKAY but I love Techno placing his hand on Tommy's head at the end (and how Tommy braced for the wolves but they didn't attack him cause he isn't actually Tech's enemy)! The two of them could totally kill the other right now but they won't, because this isn't their fight. Not really. They just ended up on opposing sides, but they don't want to fight each other, so this song fits them perfectly and I just- AHHH this is so amazing!
Seriously this is so well portrayed!
Plus tommy actually helped raise and breed those wolves
@@primo3621 Oh, God, that just added a whole new level of angst to why they didn't attack him.
For me them not attacking each other was a sign that Tommy knew that he couldn't stop Techno. He can't stop L'manberg from getting destroyed, and he can't stop Techno from doing so. He knows Techno can easily kill him without breaking a sweat, so he just stands there, accepting what is happening.
"I SEND THE SWARM, I SEND THE SCOURGE, THUS SAYS THE LORD" would be a perfect scene for Techno's dog army. It just kinds describes them XD
I totally agree. But the line actually says "I SEND THE SWARM, I SEND THE HORDE" which actually fits even more. The line with scourge is "I SEND MY SCOURGE, I SEND MY SWORD" which plays later on in the song. I do understand that it's very easy to get those lyrics confused with each other since I also used to get confused between them too.

Just got to love he fact that the darkening of the sky is caused by Phill and his murder of crows and i like to think that the reason why the hounds part like the red sea around tommy is because toomy had lived with techno for a bit and they(the hounds) see tommy as family and parted around him as to not hurt him

The way ctechno has his hand on ctommy’s head at the end while seemingly saying “I will not let your people go” makes the scene feel like ctechno is either using tough love with a misbehaving child, or that he’s officially cutting off whatever connections ctommy and he had prior. This whole thing is such a tragedy, for all intents and purposes, but that moment at the end feels the most emotionally devastating
"Once I called you brother.. once I thought the chance to make you laugh was all I ever wanted.." omfg wolfy you genius this underrated masterpiece of a movie perfectly portrays tommy and techno's relationship where they still hold at least some affection for eachother but their goals no longer align so they're on opposite sides. Also as an Egyptian I'm just fangirling so hard about this movie's soundtrack finally being used!!!

@@leog2038 because it was a good movie. It wasn’t particularly Torah accurate, but it was good. Good music, p good plot, and like, it was a long time ago. Not a lot of Jews resent Egyptians for enslaving them, we got our revenge a while ago.
I saw that line as more of an acknowledgement of how much Tommy admired Techno. Even if he doesn’t say it, it shows in his actions that he wanted Techno’s approval a lot and sincerely enjoyed their time together. But that changed of course when he “wanted” more. This is so well done.

i think a lot of people normally see technoblade as "heroic" and in many ways he is, but we often forget he is also violent and demanding and intolerant of other worldviews that are not his own.
i should specify that his CHARACTER is, techno as a person is a great guy.

Agreed. As much as I’d want to say the roles for lyrics should be reversed, it fits waaaaaay better with the theming they chose. The Burg had to burn though. Much to corrupt.
@@loremasterleonus1306 To be clear, his views of governments is intolerant but as we've seen with Snow Chester, he has no problems with groups hanging out together and making things, and has seemingly gotten to a neutral stance with Tubbo again.
He also encouraged Niki and Ranboo to do their own things.
If argue it's more apt that Technoblade lays his trust only with those that claim to show loyalty but he's s anger if someone breaks the supposed loyalty is immeasurable.
Though even after Tommy betrayed techno, Technoblade still had kind words to Tommy in his will.
Tommy and Technos relationship is so complex. They care for each other deeply, but their goals never seem to line up. They always end up hurting each other, pushing themselves further and further apart, and yet they still care for each other. The animatic really showed it well, incredible job!

Why did you have to put that into words?! That actually hurt! I’m a sucker for sibling relationships that have at any point held affection that stray for one reason or another but the affection lingers at least slightly.

Techno having the tyrant’s lines and them fitting perfectly really exemplifies something I’ve never been able put into words about his character well. He’s always talking about how power corrupts, and yet here he is with both the plague and the pharaoh lines, while Tommy’s side of the lyrics is defenseless. It’s no longer a back and forth confrontation, but a one sided slaughter where Techno holds all the power he swore to abolish.
Tommy felt the exact same, and in some ways he wasn't wrong
The irony being, its a one sided slaughter of their own doing, Techno is the first to go against 1vs a whole country, but he is also the first to talk about how risky it is thus needing layers upon layers of preparation and distractions, for the sake of the confrontation he gets stronger he gets the power to overthrow the one in place. In theory if we forget the mass destruction through the redstone machine, he couldve undertook this whole operation himself and destroyed the country anyway thanks to his preparation and overwhelming amount of Withers.
Yet Tommy is so defenseless because his reintegration was not agreed by all, and despite Tubbo's best try, the entire trouble around Tommy reeks of corruption, Niki refused to fight for them and even striked the last symbol of the country.
I think Fundy sabotaged their entire preparation for the confrontation.
And ultimately few were truly willing to fight for the country.
He is given the Tyrant lines because indeed it IS a slaughter and his overwhelming attempt to prove his words in practice looks like he is worse than the tyrant he claims to fight, but to his credit he was expecting it to be an uphill fight, Techno expected to fight a tyrannic country able to exert its power against him, and in the end all he had to fight was a powerless remnant and why wouldnt he expect anything other than strong opposition, they nearly got to execute him when his guard was down.
From the moment he realised he overprepared for the conflict it was no longer truly ideologic, it was personal, which in this case does play into the song perfectly.
The way you managed to take the choir and make it sound like it’s backing up the other brother’s lines in the song is absolutely incredible. Just in the way you frame it and the scene choices. I’m in awe. Even the part where the choir actually sings in unison with Moses’ lines still feels less like the plagues being on his side and more like. Techno and the voices agreeing with him for the briefest moment.
Just. Damn. How do you take one of the best, most cinematic songs in existence, one of the greatest pieces of art in all of film. And totally invert the theme and roles without changing the vocals. It’s so. I love that.

Pharaoh’s voice matches so well with Techno, all that built up anger and betrayal. And Mose’s voice for Tommy, not truly wanting to fight, but now really has no choice, he longs for peace and for his country and it’s people to be spared. This is just amazing Wolfy, the art is stunning :)
YEAHHH THIS IS AMAZING I like to think that the hound army didn't attack Tommy because they all know him after his time spent at the compound with Techno. They recognized him as a friend, not foe 🥺🥺

The shot of the withers activating on “I send a hail of burning ice on every field, on every town.” Made me go absolutely feral Wolfy you’ve really captured the cinematography that the block game couldn’t give. I also loved the confrontation with Tommy dropping to his knees at the words of Techno refusing to back down, and Techno placing a hand on Tommy’s head, then the frame with them facing opposite directions with contrasting shades, UGH ITS SO GOOD IM CRYING!!

I think it’s really cool how Tommy says « once I called you brother », but techno says « you who I call brother » really shows their characters and dynamics. Techno takes Tommy’s ‘betrayal’ (depends from viewer to viewer, I see it as the betrayal tho) hard and distances himself while saying he doesn’t care anymore, but here Techno says « who I CALL brother » (so not past tense.) Subconsciously, Techno still calls Tommy brother and that makes me wanna cry 😔
Also I *love* the idea that when Phil and the crows are pissed off, they tower and destroy as one being. The shadow of the crows and Phil was one of the best things I've ever seen in an animation (and I've watched around 60-70 at this point because y'all artists are so frickin talented)

This is so incredibly well put together. The dynamic between the two is so interesting!! Having Techno be “bigger” physically than Tommy, while Tommy is also “bigger” in the sense of him being louder with his words, his hurt is more in your face than Techno’s is. I really loved the scene with the dogs flooding around Tommy too!! Amazing work
I imagine the background vocals as us, the voices in Technos head, scraming for blood and the downfall of L'Manberg!

this is the first time an animatic has ever filled me with a sense of fear, the LIGHTING is incredible and so atmospheric and the wolves appearing was so vivid it feels like you're actually surrounded by them, snapping and barking. you killed this as usual :))
THIS IS SO GOOD. Like, your stuff always is, but holy hell this is something special. The use of the song's imagery was so well done. I mean, rain of fire as the TNT? It's obvious but it's genius! And the way you twisted the perspective of the lyrics so that Ramses was the one calling down the plagues and Moses was the one suffering... I didn't see that coming but it fit so well! Well done, really.
I love how tender they are with each other even as the destruction surrounds them. And the touch that Techno told his wolves to fight but not harm Tommy, beautiful. This is now one of my all time favorite animatics. So excited to see what comes next.
this entire animatic was incredibly wolfy my god. that final scene with techno and tommy is fantastic. even after tommy betrays him, he instead rests a sort of comforting hand whereas he could’ve easily struck him down

oh my god, the wolves flooding over from each side of Techno was amazing, really got an idea how how many there were and how overpowering they would be!
I absolutely love seeing Technos story from the other perspective, because to his enemies he truly does look like the most terrifying, evil, foe one could face. He may be fighting for ideals he truly believes in, ones that are actually pretty good, but he often chooses violence before diplomacy and the fact he is one of if not the best warrior to ever enter the SMP makes him all the more terrifying.

i’ve always said this, technos character and his image is one of the most potent assortment of traits that no other figure will ever be able to achieve
everything from his unique aesthetic as a boar man, blood god, trained and deadly killer
to his ruthless assortment of traits like his cunning, pride, wrath, earned ego, kindness, honour, persistence, determination, intelligence, wisdom, willpower, and sheer terror inducing presence technoblade amassed an image more powerful then any other person will achieve to the same degree.
he’s not a hero in everybody’s eyes but the reputation he amassed created one of the most compelling characters i’ve seen
When it first started I thought Techno was going to be Moses but MAN is this so much better with Tommy playing Moses
I first saw this a year ago, and can confidently say it has fundamentally altered my brain chemistry. Their affection for eachother. Tommy falling to his knees. THEIR EXPRESSIONS. THEY ARE BOTH IN PAIN BUT IN SUCH DIFFERENT WAYS.
I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT HOW AMAZING THE PRINCE OF EGYPT SOUNDTRACK IS AND HOW A DSMP ANIMATIC WITH IT WOULD BE AWESOME AND THEN THIS SHOWS UP. THIS HAPPENS SO MUCH, I LIKE, ACCIDENTALLY MANIFEST STUFF OR SOMETHING. I FEEL LIKE IM GOING INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE-

God, I love just how this is the reverse of the original scene from the Prince of Egypt! Instead of the protagonist (Tommy/Moses) bringing down the plagues upon the city, it's the antagonist (Techno/Ramses) who brings his scourge to scorch the lands and Tommy is confronting him, and when he's wading through the sea of wolves and glaring up at Techno, that shot was so well done! This was super creative and very well put together, bravo good sir!
OMG WOLFY YOU ABSOLUTE FREAKING GENIUS. The song brought up some memories and feeling that I didn't know I had and holy shit, did it hit me like a truck. It's a perfect song for them, it really is and you matched the lyrics to each scene really well. It captures the difference/"conflict" of interests and intensions really beautifully. The art style is magnificent as always. And let me tell you - all the small details wrecked my heart into a million pieces ESPECIALLY the head pat from Techno at the end, showing that beneath the hard and titanium surface, still lays a beating, feeling heart capable of love and gentelness.

OH MY GODS. What is there even to talk about?! The profiles of Tommy and Techno, both were done so well, their outlines were both so unique!! And the lighting in this from the falling tnt, the lightning strikes, the FRAME WITH PHILZA AND HIS CROWS????? I'm so blown away. And how Techno simply rests his hand on Tommy's head at the end, like they're both so crushed by how far the chaos has gotten. Where the movie music rose with the brothers' anger against each other, the affection that bedrock bros had was more internal of a struggle, the outside world reflecting the lengths they go to fight for what they believe in just like AAAA
I never comment something this long on animatics, it's just that this was my favorite movie as a kid, and you've come so far, Wolfy!!

Holly... what the heck!?!? The framing!!! The emotions!!! The background adding a completely different but crazy impactful narrative!! Even the voices feel like Chat and a natural part of the interaction!!! All the details and the impeccable timing is breathtaking, and using such a masterful yet relatively unknown number like this fits perfectly with the Dream SMP!!!! Amazing work, as always!!!

I especially love that neither Tommy nor Techno were given explicitly all the verses for either Ramses or Moses. But each verse was given to whomever it would fit the most at the time. I mean. The final Ramses verse in particular was excellent.

i like the different view on techno being a true blue villain instead of an anti hero because from Tommy's twisted pov techno was trying to manipulate him into becoming a villain

Techno's usually portrayed as this uber skinny and lanky dude whose just got this super big cape that makes him look bigger then he really is. But you made him this buff, stocky, viking looking dude who has a cape that STILL makes him look bigger then he really is. Is an interesting take
Yooo!! I missed the premiere, but this is amazing. I love your art style. This felt very tense and dramatic, which is perfect for doomsday, and honestly my heart dropped. Something about Techno placing his hand on Tommy’s head while he’s begging for Techno to leave L’Manberg alone is so sinister and dark. Great work :D
I also love your character designs, Techno with a beard looks so cool and it’s very unique! Tommy looks really young here, and I love that you included the Pogtopia coat because I only really see that in like logstedshire designs.
I say this having watched MANY doomsday animatics: This is the best representation of it I've seen yet. Well done once again Wolfy!
This is so absolutely hype, I really enjoyed that. And I can’t say enough about that portrayal of the crows during doomsday. It feels so accurate, we watched and revelled in the chaos. What you did with Tommy and Techno at the end was perfect, the resignation on both parts is if not accurate a good vibe.

Chills, literal chills. This song works wonderfully with the characters. The motions of the animation and the expressions are amazing. The crow in each scene during the beginning as they sing about what's being hit by the plagues. I love it so much!
