I was on the Shelf for this game. It was Glenn Hoddle's last league game for Tottenham. He scored his last goal a week or so before this match against Oxford which I also attended. What a player!
That was a great season for Tottenham and a great side under Pleat. Shame they finished empty handed though the cup final was a classic, and that the team broke up afterwards with Hoddle, Waddle, Allen, Gough etc all moving on soon after and Clem having to retire. Thomas was unlucky he had Sansom and Pearce ahead of him, he was International standard, no doubt.
Remember this like it was yesterday, very painful memories. Clive Allen was some player , doesn't deserve the credit, and this is from a United supporter.
Well, they already did, sort of. Look at Davenport, Robson, Alan Brazil, Olsen, Strachan, Terry Gibson. Most of them cost below one million, but were still quite expensive at the time.

HahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaHHAAAAAA !!!!!
@@mrflynn1205 He was around 85-88
@@christopherchristos7275 Oh right so that will explain why he never won a senior cap.
@@mrflynn1205 And.......?
@@christopherchristos7275 And…..if he was international class he would at least have gained one or two caps but he clearly wasn’t good enough.
Lads it's Man United.

Why was the camera positioned on the main stand side? I've only ever known TV footage from WHL with the camera gantry being on the shelf side.
Love smashing Utd.
I remember the cup final loss to coventry😏
Yeah, we didn't turn up that day and Coventry did. Well done to them. How are they getting on these days? ;)
Coventry went from strength to strength. Well done to them.
@@stud105 You sure about that, fella? Last I remember is Coventry sold Robbie Keane and became irrelevant, shortly afterward. Where are they now?
@@TheTruth-pl3mk Sorry pal, I was being sarcastic.
@@stud105 I was having a bad day, sorry about that comment.
Before Man Utd started spending there millions

and the results is more embrassing , 6-1 🤣
An spurs haven’t moved on in forty yrs. just a odd cup team
No. They were already spending just as much (relatively speaking) as in later years, but the players were spending half their wages on alcohol.
proper utd side not like todays crap, and waddle should of signed for us,
Carl- SHOULD HAVE
Hardly cost us success not having him
Lads, it's tottenham...
