Tip: If you put the workforce priority of haulers building on low or lowest, the other buildings are filled automaticly without having to micromanage. Also you can put the haulers building on 10 workforce. Just have to remember that in this case the first 10 jobs unfilled are the haulers, not the primaries. ;-)
I see your having fun with the editing now! I do appreciate the zooming in on things, as with compression and different screen sizes, it can be hard to see some of the UI. Though you may want to tame it down a touch as I’m sure it will become quite irritating for some people. But I really do like it thanks! Keep up the good work skye
Love your vids Skye. One of few TH-camrs where it really doesn't matter to me what you make content on, I will watch it! I know you've been away for a while and I really hope you're doing OK! :)
omg that was chaotic to watch... lmao. i was screaming at my screen way too many times but it made for great content to see a normal person play some timberborn and make the same mistakes we make from time to time. but omg it was killing me to see him pumping during the drought. 0-0
I did something similar on this map, but I lined the entire length of the river on the top level with levees as far as the first dam to match the level of the rear bank of the river so the entire thing ended up as a 2 deep water source. Even extended out a bit at the water fall end to create a water farm area
Super great to have you back, Skye! Looking forward to more content! My 2 cents on the editing in this episode is it's a little distracting, but I always appreciate good editing and applaud you for trying something new!
After watching some more, I think it's the zooming that's distracting. You do a great job pointing things out with the cursor, so much so that for a while I thought it was just zooming on where you clicked. If you want to highlight, maybe just the red circles without zoom? I _love_ the smooth transition in and out of time lapses!
3:44, bad move, always leave a few trees unmarked until you unlock and build a forester, just gives you some leeway on the log front until then, even then I usually have the forester plant and grow the maple trees prior to finally cleaning house of the crappy trees
What are the odds that I just started this map on hard mode for the first time this morning?! I built things in the same areas and even had the same hunger die-off after the population grew and the farm had nothing ready. Only real diff was I flooded that hole down by the lower tree farm instead of building hoover dam 😂. Great video!
I think you needed more storage tanks. I worked on getting the big ones made (think we needed cogs for them) and I had a bunch of smaller ones for emergencies. In my most recent drought, one of my reservoirs started to dry up, so I just open the floodgates further up stream and let more water in. The Plains are probably way easier though.
Food problem was because you set the farm to prioritise planting over harvesting, which halves their efficiency as the will replant the crop before harvesting the next one.
Welcome back Skye! Excellent video!. I was planning on checking out KoS's videos of this game for the longest time but never got around to it. Considering I'm Canadian, it really should be no-brainer that I'd love this game. You still have that magic of convincing me to try another game out. Thanks for that!.........oh one last thing...... you ever gonna finish building London in Cities???? ;)
From the thumbnail I thought it was a Minecraft mod or something... I pleasantly surprise to see that it wasn't and that this game is great, time to binge watch this series.
So i found on this map instead of marking all the trees at top you can make a grid so you dont need a forester for replanting trees will spread automatically.
so in hard mode, one thing you may wish to consider for future is UNSELECTING a few trees in an area so they can spread naturally. If not, it is (technically) possible to deplete a map of REACHABLE wood resources and without such, you cannot build stairs and the game is over.
Welcome back once again Skye, didn't realise an update had come along, but will certainly check it out myself once I'm home. Look forward to some hard wood and wet beaver adventures! Should be a good series. Ps, love the new edits, just don't over do it :) Pps, no good dam gets built without sacrifice, the trapped beaver was a sacrifice! Lol
also, in early game, when you no longer have trees to harvest...take away two of the three tree cutters instead of the science position. science is really important, and the tree cutters didn't have trees to cut down anyways.
MAIS... MAIS ! LA CUVE ! LA PAROLE DU BOB LENNON QUI S'ETEND ! LA CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUVE ! translation: BUT... BUT ! THE RESERVOIR ! THE WAY OF BOB LENNON (french youtuber) IS SPREADING ! THE RESERVOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIR !
With the farmhouses, I think it'd be slightly more efficient to set one of them to prioritize harvesting instead of having both prioritize planting. With two farmhouses, one set to plant and the other set to harvest, it should keep a steadier flow of crops. Another thing I've seen some people do is a sort of irrigation trick. You put four levees in a cross-shaped configuration, leaving the center open (making it kinda resemble the d-pad on a controller), then place a water dump on top, so it pours into the middle tile. That tile, blocked from flowing anywhere, then irrigates the land around it, allowing for more crops, berries, trees, or even just green grass instead of lifeless brown dirt. But it's good to see your unique brand of crazy back.
27:36 what did you do to raise the water level, and fill the reservoir, please? Just started the game, and on the starter map. When I wanted to fill some areas with water, I had to build levees and flood gates, and block water from flowing a bit, and that would fill up the area behind me. I can't see what you did here to make the water come into this area.
Hard mode is hard. In my latest have my beavers died down from 60+ to 5 adults while I was making my giant reservoir. Then again died down to 20 after the population had rebounded. Water storage and water dumps are essential to staying alive in hard mode. Water evaporates from the reservoir, not from storage tanks.
Have watched up to episode 4 so far and I really enjoyed it. It's fun watching Timberborn when the player really have big plans, keeping the audience entertained and wondering what's next. Good work!
You don't have to build a reservoir like that as it will take up to much land space which could be used for farming or trees. instead I recommend just increasing the river height. the one layer of water will last about a 15 day drought, two high water will last like 30 ect. ect. meaning a 4 high river should last you 60 days. you can either build the river upwards with levees or downwards with TNT whichever is easier I suppose, but this map is actually really easy to survive in on hard mode, it is just a bit difficult to thrive in and expansion can grind to a crawl due to limited space for trees.
the stranded beavers getting ignored was bad, but letting so many of them die because you focused your time into the reservoir was horrible to watch. you should start with 1 high, and grow as you could. that way, you could have focused more on food and no one would have died.
Builds warehouse for food, forgets to connect the roads making it useless. Classic Sky.
that triggered me
And not useing his dams just leaving them open to drain the water
Letting the crops to die and not blaming the water.. trapped beaver
2 trapped beavers starving to death, looking at them several times and doesn’t see them. So sad those beavers.
He fixes it around the 18 min mark 😊
It's always interesting how stoically TH-camrs ignore when games are warning them about their mistakes, then act all surprised by the consequences xD
Gee... I sure am glad that YT decided that this video needs "Context" from the UN on climate change -- 🎶 "The more you know" 🎵

The fact you get away after building that huge reservoir while crisis is amazing
Omg the paths not going to the lumberjack and storage was driving me crazy.
41:06 "We're up to 13 beavers now." In other words a standard night for Charles Vane at the local tavern.
Glad to see you back! Love watching you play this game. Would also love to see a new Tavern Master series and Surviving the Aftermath series!
15 minutes later, screaming at the television "oh my god connect a road to the lumberjack!!! Read the warnings!!!!" Lol
So glad to see you back. Was beginning to think this break might have been permanent, thankfully it wasnt.
Good to see you Vespere :)
@Skye Storme as long as your posting content I'll be around.
Glad to see you back Skye. Always miss your content when you’re not posting.
Thanks Kevin! And there was much rejoicing! :)

I can't say how happy I am to see you back at it Skye... oh wait, I guess I can. I'm happy.

The next QoL improvement from the devs should be if you mark for trees/food to be built it marks everything else for destruction.
Oh yes.
personally would find that worse, prefer that it *doesn't* mark stuff for destruction.

Food problem was because you set the farm to prioritise planting over harvesting, which halves their efficiency as the will replant the crop before harvesting the next one.
37:49, you've got them prioritising planting here, should always set to harvesting, they'll plant after

I have no idea what this game is, but it looked interesting
You don't have to build a reservoir like that as it will take up to much land space which could be used for farming or trees. instead I recommend just increasing the river height.
the one layer of water will last about a 15 day drought,

Wow... if I was a beaver I surely wouldn't want to live in a town managed by you😅
I'm surprised you survived with a farm that small
So glad to see you back have missed your videos!! Keep doing what you do!
Thank you! Will do!

Great video, love your content sky. Would you ever consider re-visiting old games like oxygen not included or banished?
the stranded beavers getting ignored was bad, but letting so many of them die because you focused your time into the reservoir was horrible to watch. you should start with 1 high, and grow as you could. that way, you could have focused more on food and no one would have died.
