She great at what she does and deserves her credit. The record was there for a reason and she broke it well done. Now do I believe she’s on Caitlin’s level hell no 😂😂. A Tripple double as a rookie is insane. Double and triple are too different things it’s not even close. Angel plays as a big so it’s apart of her job to get rebounds and her points are mostly layups put backs but that’s great too.
Reese is a tenacious rebounder and she gets defensive rebounds as well as her own missed shots. Some folks think rebounding is boring but it is part of the game and she does it as good if not better than anyone else. No, she is not a playmaker that looks to set up her teammates.

I’m more impressed that the record was only 12 games for a double double streak. That’s the craziest part. It’s 227 games in the NBA. And a recent streak ended at 61
NBA has 8 more minutes of game time to rack up stats. Wnba shorter clock makes these double double and triples nearly impossible.

I forced myself to watch this game! Angel and multiple girls just throw up their layups!! It was the ugliest game ive ever watched including my 13 yr old kids jr high team. Errant passes bad dribbling all around looked horrible.
I watched also. It’s pathetic how they just sloppily throw the layups in the air in any kind of way just hoping it goes in. Such a mess. I had to turn this crap off. It’s a total disgrace to the game of basketball of how they play.

I'm a CC fan, now a Rookies fan. You didn't see Reese's stats because our expectations of Clarke and Reese are so high that when they're playing well, we look for outstanding. The WNBA has an image and Veteran problem. Look at what the Rookie from the Sparks just did. They cut 14 of the original 32 drafted and 2 more since. These Rookies look AND play better than these over the hill, outdated "Veterans"

This is not a tight race. Double doubles…..just proof she is a good player. She is in the W…and being given massive play time…how is that surprising? Now, going to a worse team, and proving ones impact to that team over and over, by LEADing plus being good…and impacting other teams just by her presence on the court. How is this even a debate?

What i specifically put weight into in regards to this record is what Mick said, she could have had it interrupted and still achieved it this season anyway. People often break records when they're so good that breaking the record isn't that difficult. That's why Angel broke the record. She is a consistent double double. And double doubles are hard to achieve in the WNBA and help win games. I like me points and rebounds. No complaints. Incredible super talent player

People who put rebounds and assists on the same level are either casuals or people with an agenda. Anyone can check the stats right now to see which one is easier to get, plus assists count for at least 2 points which makes em actually impactful on the game.

Angel’s teammates need to do a better job of finding her in the post. There were a few occasions where she was either completely open under the basket or had a guard on her and they either sailed the pass over her head or didn’t even look at her. She could have easily had 25pts yesterday.

But of course there are only 19 Points/Assists double doubles for the season and I think 4 of them are Caitlin Clark's double doubles and lastly 3 triple doubles within the season and 1 is historically done by Caitlin Clark who is also a ROOKIE. But then again, it's still a great stat.
Yep, assists are way harder than rebounds, but Reese fans plug their ears when anyone mentions it. You can get rebounds on both ends of the court and essentially get limitless offensive rebounds on the same possession, and also get points on top of offensive rebounds. You can only get assists during offense and only one per possession, and you can't also get points in the same play.

You need to put up stats on total league -points/rebounds DDs, total league- points/assists DDs and total league triple doubles. In the next column put up Reese’s numbers in those three categories and in the next column put up CCs numbers. CC will have numbers in all three and Reese only in one. And the league number of p/a DDs is a fraction of P/r DDs which shows that the p/r dd is so much easier to achieve than the P/a DD. Look behind the stat sheets to see what the numbers mean!!
Stop pumping up the double double streak, lots of players average that in the NBA and outside of that and layups Reese is pretty much below average everywhere else on the court. 0 assists tells you all you need to know about what she does to make her team better, she's only worried about padding her stats.
Stop hating her teammates love her and the energy she brings to the team. They Reese makes them better and makes them want to play harder. Reese wants to win games but along the way she is breaking records.
To get assists you would need teammates that can actually shoot the ball and get buckets. Sky needs a point guard and another guard, right now if you stack the paint they are not scoring.
Storm is my team with Ezi being my favourite (so I'm loving the blocks!) but Reese and Carter kept Sky in the game. It would have been a much closer game had Cardoso stayed in. Reese breaking the record is awesome! These new rookies have made this season more exciting than previous years and I love it! Oh, and I think I'm one of the very few people who love Dick Fain's enthusiasm when he commentates. He's hilarious to me - every game is like Game 5 in the final series when we're down to the wire 😂😂It helps that he commentates for Storm and he loves Ezi as much as I do lol.

It’s easy to stat pad when you were being built to do it. She has a nice shot at the 3point line, but nothing that makes her a phenom or a generational player. It fluctuates. Both are playoff teams, but what Reese is doing is more historic than Clark. This is a league record, not a rookie record

Regarding points, we all are aware that CC only average 2 more points than AR.. Are we??. I say that as it always seems as though there’s such a big gap between the two regarding points.. Espn has Clark at -600 and Reese at +350. Fever had the hardest schedule up to this point and now have the second easiest schedule going forward. Sky had the 4th easiest and now have the 5th toughest remaining.

Cardoso was injured before the season started. She got injured in preseason 6 weeks. Not to mention to helps on the boards and the clog the lane when she is in. Chenndy was bench player now recently has been a starter. The difference between the Sky and Fever is chemistry, change, and wanting to get better, coach the players on the floor, defense mindset, pushing each other. All on TH-cam but it's not shown here beside recap & comments. The Fever doesn't have all this. Sky coach is with the players at the interview with reports. Answering questions. You should see yesterday's game & Reese, Chenndy, & coach Witherspoon answering questions from reporters. Witherspoon hug Chenndy at the end. (Please watch) None of this was mentioned yesterday on his channel. The Sky will be alright because they want to win and want to get better and chemistry from the players and coach. When they play here in Chicago they sell out not mentioned in other outlets. We love Chicago Sky because they represent how Chicago people work and get dirty. Look at any play by play of Angel Reese’s games and she gets 3-4 rebounds a game off of her own missed layups. And she must lead the league in that category. Take a rookie NFL wideout who's going to set passing records for receptions and score a slew of touchdowns and then take a rookie QB who's so revolutionary he's going to change the nature of the game itself and, in addition, can run, pass and call automatics brilliantly in and out of the pocket, elevating his losing team to the point of making it a future Superbowl contender. The analogy is stretching it but to say the gifted, record setting wideout, great as he may be, is more valuable than this once in a generation QB makes no sense to me.

Football and Basketball are 2 different worlds. There are similarities, but this was a stretch to say Reese and all players other than Caitlin are of no value. Your analogy can go both ways.
Both need to perform well. Caitlin could be a good passer and the team not able to convert shots. Then her passing wouldn’t matter, you’d need new mates. Same goes for bad passing (her turnover rate). Her current TO rate could deem her as an average passer or worse because it almost evens out. So we would need a new PG.
Stop trying to hype up Caitlin by way of this analogy because it’s still discrediting to other players who work hard. They are not there for Caitlin they are there for their selves and their TEAM.
