Thanks for this- I learned of the SS America a couple years after developing a strong interest in the larger & more famous speed-queen, SS United States. Though a smaller & older vessel, the America was a step-up in style/decor with a late '30/early '40's art deco styling- including some wood fittings that were completely absent on United States(which by the way copied some of the smaller ship's interiors, including the 1st class ballroom). The America was stylish & comfortable.

@@diegobernardi5362 hola, no lo vi pues soy de otra de las islas. El barco estaba en Fuerteventura y sé que hay desperdigados algunos muebles y cuadros por toda la isla .
I mean it is sad to see the SS American Star is gone but as lots of other people know all good things must come to an end eventually. I am still happy that I got to do my own documentary about the ship.
She for 9 years now has always been one of my favorite ships of all time everything about the America was so good looking and classy. For years the history of the ship along with design and beauty of the ship has always inspired me and fasinated me.For years I have done years of reaserch on the Grand Lady and was so inspired by her classy looks built my own ship that was somewhat designed off the America along with has her own look. Her name is the SS Red Star a 1940 liner I built that looks simular to the America like for example the funnles, the kings posts, the masts and the bridge wing cabs and the stern docking bridge as well.I also last year built a scratch build model of the wreck what it looked like in 2004 along with am working on a scratch build of the Australis in her more 1970's look with the grey hull.😃

Definitely! As long as we remember, it’s not forgotten. I hope that this story gives one an idea of what it was like to visit the wreck.
So are poetical, Matthew. I am happy America reincarnated into the most beautiful man to have as a boyfriend ❤️
